Well done on changing the appointment Amber , sensible option .

Busy week for me . Have ECG tomorrow , CT on Thursday , and wound clinic on Friday .
Think I may just take my sleeping bag with me ...

topsyturner · 03/09/2012 10:48

Hello to all you lovely ladies and welcome to Invicta.

Have not been on for a long while, lots of stuff going on.

Went on holiday for two weeks to Mallorca which was great and very relaxing. It took me another whole week to catch up reading the thread!

On Saturday I received a divorce petition letter from H's solicitor. This isn't out of the blue - it's been a long time (years) coming on. Following his very much less than supportive treatment of me while I was going through chemo (appalling in fact) I knew that was the end but the anxiety/depression since I finished treatment was too bad to contemplate starting anything. He told me before hols that as I wouldn't do anything he would start it instead and so he has. We probably would have got divorced a few years ago but I invconveniently kept having accidents and my dad dying and cancer and whatnot so he couldn't do anything. How inconsiderate of me Hmm

As it's not a total shock I am shaky but ok-ish. Just wanted to let you all know what's going on and why I haven't been around. I may need to post in the divorce threads.

Lots and lots of love to you all xx

LumpyNork · 03/09/2012 11:22

Popping in to say anther thank you. I saw a GP this morning, it wasn't my own, it was a rather young locum who seemed as nervous as I was and had to phone another doctor in the surgery for advice but the bottom line is that she could feel a mass (so I haven't been imagining it - phew (kind of)) and I have been referred the the breast clinic. If I haven't heard from them within 3 weeks I should phone either the GP surgery or the breast clinic to chase it.

For now I guess I just try to forget about it until I get the appointment or 3 weeks pass.

amberlight · 03/09/2012 11:44

LumpyNork, Brew for you. Remember the odds of it being a) cancer and b) the rudely behaved sort are only 1 in 100. So that's not bad odds to start with.

Lime, eek and grr and heck. Brew for you too, I'd say. And the future possibility of a wonderful man who is totally there for you.

Hugs all round.

MaryAnnSingleton · 03/09/2012 11:50

well done lumpy and let us keep you company while you wait Smile amber is stats queen and the odds are good !
lime many hugs for you- it must feel very odd and unsettling -we're here for you remember x

topsyturner · 03/09/2012 12:04

Oh Lime , big hugs .
Doesn't matter if you knew it was coming or not , it's still a bit of a kick in the guts .
You can offload here too , it's not just about cancer on here !

topsyturner · 03/09/2012 12:06

And Lumpy , stick around for your 3 week wait . It's absolutely normal to be referred straight to the breast clinic . And 3 weeks wait is the national average .
Anything you want to know , feel free to ask . And stay away from google Grin

topsyturner · 03/09/2012 12:07

Phew .
Housework all done .
Morning tea anyone ?
Who's got the cake ?

Gigondas · 03/09/2012 12:18

We should as my main gripe these days is the faff about doing these tests topsy (and you were right that one day you do adjust to all this as normal with the odd wobble).

I have chocolate cake and french France biscuits that hid from kids.

lj hugs - that is a shock even if you saw it coming. And feel free to vent.

lumpy here to hand hold while you wait .

I shall have a sample of all the fbs on offer thank you , as I have been working very hard today Grin

graciesmall09 · 03/09/2012 13:01

I can offer cake as it is DS2 birthday - 13 today!! Had mum up yesterday for lunch and she really must get the award for most stupid comment of the year - conversation went like this DS2 "Are you coming to stay as normal this Christmas, nana?". DM "no don't think so", DS2 "oh why not?" - DM "Well I might be dead". AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgh.

Anyway thinking of all those with appointments this week. Glad you got your appointment changed amber.

Welcome to invicta sorry you are going through this but we are always here if you need some support or just to vent.

lumpy glad you got referred on. Much better to be checked out.

I have onc appointment on Friday so hopefully he can put my mind at rest about 'new' lump.

graciesmall09 · 03/09/2012 13:02
