Afternoon all - computer problems here too gracie, - it didn't like me trying to recharge my ipod, so has been frozen and emitting a loud beep every few seconds for the last half hour. Fortunately DD sorted it before I threw it out the window did something rash!

Good luck to Over and Gig for chemo, make the most of your nice meal Over Smile - Gig thank you very much for Howard's way which came this morning - looking forward to settling down and reliving my past Grin - Whoever wants the DVDs next - PM me and I'll send them on when I've finished - if there's several people organise them to do the rounds Smile

SMEE glad you have arrived safely down under, - I may forgive you for not taking me - I haven't decided yet Grin - topsy and I will have a cage fight for the sailors, - I will win because I fight dirty Grin

MAS - toilet dreams are very anxiety related, - awful things. My two main anxiety ones are having to take important exams when I haven't studied any of the course (usually history A level and I keep saying 'but I have a History degree' and no one takes any notice!) or trying to pack a very large amount of stuff into a small car in a critically short time period. V, wearing!

I'm glad you liked the choc Smile hope your mum is a bit better and it will be lovely to have your boys home.

gracie - good luck with number seven - the end is in sight now Smile Hope picc line holds up and is OK when checked today.

Waving to SR and Baskets (happy birthday junior Baskets)

My dog jumped onto me in the middle of the night and put her paw right in my eye and scratched it, - I've got some ointment from the docs I have for my thyroid eye thing so shoved some of that in it - still a bit scratchy this morning though. Dogs eh?

love to all xx

Have the Belfast ladies noticed a thread on Chat about good places to eat in Belfast?

Hope you and yours are all okay today, esp those having chemo. Thanks for birthday greetings for boy1 - it's funny seeing him referred to as 'mini' - he is 22, 6 ft 2 - a long time since he was little though of course he'll always be my baby! DH made cake before he went out his morning - this is excellent news as I have other jobs to do, and a bit tired after weekend (though much better than yesterday). I am very impressed and grateful that dh did this.

Gigondas · 21/08/2012 14:05

In hospital waiting to start chemo. topsysome saddoperson has put all of Howard's way into you tube if you google it.
Happy birthday to baskets dd .
Poor kurri about bite but spooky as I have identical exam dream. Most of nightmares involve dr visit and hospital now.

gigs hope today goes well, me tomorrow (no 2 of 12, not that i'm counting!) and dreading it.

my recurring dream is also exam related. Someone tells me I still have to take one of my finals and I can't remember a thing about Romantic Poetry!

am fantasising on another thread about a camper van

KurriKurri · 21/08/2012 14:16

My bum is not amusing topsy Hmm

Whenever I think of sailors together, I imagine them like the ones in those old Hollywood musicals, like On The Town, - dressed in white sailor suits, singing and dancing etc. - It's possible I am out of date with my visualisation though Grin

I've been having the exam dream for about 30 yrs now Gig - I never managed to resolve anything though when I have it, - it's just the same old loop going round! Academic education has a lot to answer for!

graciesmall09 · 21/08/2012 15:04

Ouch kurri for both ends.

Nurse has been and picc was being good so prechemo bloods off to lab. She had just left when I stuffed a biscuit in my mouth and broke one of my back teeth. Has anyone had treatment whilst on chemo? Nurse said I may have to wait until week 3 but it is feeling a little tender as there is only half a tooth left and it was a tooth which was previously filled. Filling is gone too.

baskets didn't see thread will have a look although I'm probably not the best to advise as its ages since I have been out in Belfast.

KurriKurri · 21/08/2012 15:14

gracie - I had a temporary filling put in while I was on chemo, and then had it repaired properly once I'd finished. Maybe your dentist can do something just to make sure you don't have any pain until you can have more extensive repair.

I had 2 teeth break - I think chemo affects your teeth (another bonus!), - but I think you have to avoid invasive treatment unless its absolutely necessary.

topsyturner · 21/08/2012 15:20

As a former resident of Plymouth (home of many sailors and marines) I can confirm that they no longer dance around in little white sailor suits kk
I too pine for the olden days Grin

graciesmall09 · 21/08/2012 15:23

Thanks kurri I probably can't have anything done this week as chemo in the morning. I'll give them a ring and see if they could see me next week and keep my fingers crossed for no pain.

topsyturner · 21/08/2012 15:23

My recurring dream is always about first of all not being able to dial for help on my phone (always keep hitting the wrong numbers for 999)
And secondly that I need to drive somewhere in an emergency situation .
And as I can't drive , that's always an interesting one !

topsyturner · 21/08/2012 15:24

I second kk I'm afraid Gracie
Temp filling till after chemo !

topsyturner · 21/08/2012 15:25

topsyturner · 21/08/2012 20:39

Oh crap Gigs !
That's a total bummer Sad
What can I do to entertain you ?

We have a Foo Fighters open air concert about 3 miles away , and it's like they are playing in the next room .
Must be hellishly noisy there !

Gigondas · 21/08/2012 22:08

We need some orange men or similar.
The annoying thing is that have been fine since stopped mess and gave me paracetamol and antibioAngry. I hope can start tomorrow as don't want to lose too much weekend.

OP posts:
overthemill · 21/08/2012 22:29

gigs sorry to hear you are stuck in hospital. What a bummer.

topsy we used to live near Knebworth House where they have all the open air concerts, my dd said once 'mummy turn the lady down' - it was Chris de Burgh!

I'm on chemo tomorrow with 6.30 am start so won't be posting much tomorrow. Hope yo all keep as well as you can given insect bites, noisy buggers and toothache :)

MaryAnnSingleton · 21/08/2012 22:54
