ILGC often think of you- you and your family are not forgotten- sorry that you've had such a low time- completely understandable as you must've been holding it all together while dd was ill- a giant hug for you xxx
amber meant to say- huge congratulations to ds for his brilliant performances- how proud you must be.
gracie am very happy that the picture is safely with you. Am sorry to hear about dh's dad - so difficult when parents become ill/elderly.
I had 3 tattoos for rads- one between the breasts, the others two on each side- am sure it's just whichever way seems best for the lining up- you'll notice little beams of light which line up with them when you're being zapped.
Dh and ds safely up in Notts. Bless ds for begging me to come with them but I know they'll have fun and will see family and eat a lot !
Going to see my parents in a sec- dad asked for some bleach when i went to the shops but I also got him some beer !

graciesmall09 · 18/08/2012 19:26

Thanks gigs and mas was a bit worried they were going to zap wrong area. Do they zap the whole breast then?

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/08/2012 19:44

yes, and from different angles- the machine moves around

Gigondas · 18/08/2012 19:45

Evening All .
I'm hooooooooooome !
Grin

How are you all ?
Anything to report to me ?
Most importantly , did you miss me ? Grin

We had a fab break .
Glorious weather (am actually a little tanned !)
Although I did wake up on Thursday morning with a massively swollen eye , apparently from an insect bite .
I will post a pic on our Facebook group for you all .
DH says I look like an alien , he is such a charmer !

Right , I'm off to do some more unpacking . See you all later .

(who is going to watch x factor with me ?)

graciesmall09 · 18/08/2012 20:50

Yeah topsy is home. Glad you had a great time. Hurray up and post that pic so that we can laugh at you sympathise.

gigs it isn't as loud as an MRI is it? I'm actually dreading it.

graciesmall09 · 18/08/2012 20:54

Oh ouch topsy I was expecting a little red spot. That must be agony. You could always punch DH and give him a matching one if he calls you an alien again.

Gigondas · 18/08/2012 21:02

Am too busy with Howard's way topsy and no gracie it's not MRI bad ( shudders).

But glad you are back.

Gigondas · 18/08/2012 21:08

Thank you, it is lovely to see you all still here being cheerful, makes me feel quite ashamed. I got to the point I could do work, the kids and no more. However DS is now off to uni in October and DD2 is very focused on following in her father, sister and now brother's footsteps and reading medicine so is now working really hard so I thought I need to make the effort. So today I went for a 4 mile tramp with the dog and it felt so good. I have been fortunate that I have never suffered from proper depression before but it is hideous. However it is gradually lifting and I am so lucky in many ways. It was lovely to see so many of you are doing so well. Take care.

topsyturner · 19/08/2012 08:34

Morning ILGC

Dont feel ashamed of feeling down !
You have had the shittiest couple of years to get through .
A lesser person would have collapsed long ago .

Believe me , we are not always laughing and joking on this board .
Life has dealt us a very shitty hand , and sometimes you just have to grieve for how your life should have been .

MaryAnnSingleton · 19/08/2012 09:23

what topsy just said ILGC !

topsyturner · 19/08/2012 10:14

Gracie how are you feeling this morning ?
You've had a shitty time haven't you ?
Hope you start feeling better soon x

Gigs where are you on the treatment cycle ? (memory span of a goldfish !)
Did you have a scan recently ?
Any results ?

Mas how's mum today ?
Parkinson's meds take quite a bit of juggling to get right . But it sounds like she has lost a bit of faith with her docs and doesn't want to try another cocktail ?

Off to read a bit more and post again !
Told you , memory of a goldfish . Not helped by the fact I am on my phone and can't keep scrolling back to re read the posts !

topsyturner · 19/08/2012 10:17

Has Smee gone yet ?
Have been frantically exercising blatant lie so I am skinny enough to squeeze into her luggage Grin

Gigondas · 19/08/2012 10:53

Am doing cycle 4 of 6 this week (Tuesday) . Scan I had about 3 weeks ago looked "fairly good"according to oncologist (whatever that means- nurse said don't always see much at this stage so assume to see anything positive is some thing). I am already having massive wobbles about end of treatment and what that means (think ned was doing same).

Dh and gigs home later Grin so ought to do some cooking and tidying.

How did pig dog cope with you being away topsy
How is picc line gracie

ilgc echo what Topsy says- I don't always post about my black moments but I have them .

OP posts:
Gigondas · 19/08/2012 10:54

Oh yes mas meant to ask dh about my fil parkinson as I know he kept worst of it at bay for about 10 years or more with drugs. Does help that my bil is a neurologist tho...

OP posts:
topsyturner · 19/08/2012 10:58

Fairly good will do at this stage Gig
Can't believe you have done 4 already !

Pig/dog was very pleased to see us and get home . He has stuck like glue to DH .
And first thing he did when he walked into the kitchen , was climb onto his bed !

Gigondas · 19/08/2012 11:15

I like pig dogs priorities Grin. Will get on with some cooking once I have had my coffee. I think I am going to have trouble adapting back to dc paced life.
