counselling - I had Cruse counselling last year which was totally brilliant in making me face a lot of unresolved stuff and consequently how I felt about dx -I have nothing but praise for them. Also a lot of talking about the same issues with bcn who was brilliant.

Kurri - good for you for learning to drive! Don't know how I would have got through this past year of treatment without driving - would have made things very very difficult, so many appointments and in awkward places. Switching to an automatic was what got me driving again - had an epiphany moment with friend re cycling - that we only every used one or two gears, just pedalled harder up hills - realised she was driving an automatic car, admitted to myself "I am rubbish at gears too" and now I love driving! See how you go, and bear this in mind if you're finding it hard to do everything at once. I used to fear roundabouts as I panicked about what gear/speed to choose while trying to watch the traffic. Now I just have to decide, Stop or Go? Grin Being able to drive is so liberating, and I love being able to offer lifts to others now Smile Just think - you can go to garden centres on your own and come back with masses of plants!

LimeJellyforBrains · 24/02/2012 11:39

MAS your outfit sounds perfect - you wouldn't want to be distracted by uncomfortable clothes - I always prefer to wash things first if possible, and always did it for the boys to get rid of 'factory chemicals'! All the best x

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/02/2012 11:47

I have a fear of things seeming too new and stiff ! I did think of washing it yesterday but forgot.

MAS - your outfit sounds just right, smart but comfortable, - and the brooch a lovely touch - there should be a a bit of colour at funerals I always think - they celebrate life as well as mourn death.

LJ - automatic is definitely something I shall keep in mind, - I think, especially since treatment, my brain for multi tasking is not what it was - so any thing that will help with that is a good idea as far as I'm concerned. Am very motivated by the idea of spending sprees at the garden centre Grin

My friend has a lovely dinky little car with flowers painted all over it Grin - much easier than our Renault estate which is really too big for me to reach everything without loads of adjustments and cushions.

MAS - I'll happily start a new thread if we get to the end. But I'll try to hold off until you get back,- because I like seeing your posts highlighted as the OP.

I know I have missed you MAS, and you will have set off already, but good luck and I am thinking of you.

Love to all. xx

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/02/2012 12:38

Grin kk - everyone slow down this afternoon until I get back then !
I'd be scared of an automatic - am a control freak !
Righto, must get myself in order...xx

God, I've missed loads! Had my mum here for couple of days, she's a life saver and very happy just to chill out and do school runs, and make sandwiches etc!

Feeling ropey and a half today - very sluggish, hands feel very heavy, etc, very tired but can't get comfy etc. Sickness somewhat better, on max dose of antisickness + suppositories. . . yum . . . Hoping to come out the other side quite soon. . .

Sorry I've missed lots going on - topsy still awaiting new phone?

MAS hope today goes OK. SOrry I missed sending you off with good wishes. . .

Typing too hard. . . Will check in and read some more later x x

LimeJellyforBrains · 24/02/2012 13:12

I always thought I would feel like that MAS, then realised I felt out of control in a manual, but back in control in an auto!

Poor Ned - sounds like you have it quite bad. So glad you have your mum to help. You should start to feel better soon xx

Kurri - re the multitasking - well, I didn't like to say, but Wink! Actually I have never been that good at it - 'bit of a man' I think, good at navigating! - and deffo worse since treatment. I knew the garden centre lure would push your buttons! x

smee · 24/02/2012 13:57

Ned, I read that as your mother is a lifesaver. Grin Sorry you're feeling grim. I think day 10 was what I looked forward to as that was the start of the climb out for me. Some people seemed to manage it earlier though. Either way keep a note of all symptoms as your team might be able to alter the drugs to make next time easier.

OneinEight, how are you?? Hope you're not feeling too ropey. Sad

Missed MAS but have been thinking of her. Such a lovely if impossible thing to do. Hope her voice doesn't go. Am sure she'll do it wonderfully.

Lime, interested post on feet! I must try a podiatrist. Been going on for way too long. I want to go back to my acupuncturist too, so might try that first

Gigondas · 24/02/2012 16:53

Interesting re automatic . I am a hopelessly nervous driver so very rarely drive. Blush the automatic thing has been discussed here but part of my nerves is cos the one and only Time I drove an automatic (hire car In aus) I had a crash when lost control on gravel so can Completely see where Mas is Coming from.

Mas hope today went well.

Ned hope the extra help is giving you incentive to rest up and you start to turn corner soon.

Any good weekend plans?

Gigondas · 24/02/2012 16:53

topsyturner · 24/02/2012 17:22

KurriKurri · 24/02/2012 17:26

HI girls - I got a bit nervous we'd run out of space, so have started a new thread here - I would rather have left the honours to MAS, but didn't wnt people to feel they couldn't post Smile

smee · 24/02/2012 17:30

Hope MAS is okay and got through her reading.

Ned, are you feeling any better?
