Afternoon everyone. Chocolate brownies are out of the oven and cooled down. Help yerselves.
Mind you, I am giving up chocolate anyway - I have a sore foot too, combination of chemo (I think) and being overweight so need to cut back on the fbs too. I'm also giving up newspapers and magazines as yet again I've opened a paper (our local one) and read an article about someone losing their BC fight and this time it was inflammatory BC which is the one I had. It shakes me to the core whenever I read something like that so I feel I have no choice but to avoid the situation altogether as I don't feel strong enough to face it. Anyone else done that?
MAS, I'm sure you'll be fine with the reading but your dad will step in if you find it all too emotional.
KK, your 6lb weight loss was brilliant, I'm sure next week will show a loss too. Try not to be downhearted about it.
Sparkle, snap about the heating. Now that DH works from home almost all the time I have learnt to wear extra layers and look forward to the days when he's in London when I can fiddle with the thermostat.
Gigs, I second (or is it third) the tilting the cot suggestion. It worked a treat with mine but I remember initially tilting it a bit too much and poor DS1 sliding down to the end of his cot.
Interesting about the connection with morning sickness and chemo sickness because I was sick from the minute I found out I was expecting to the moment the boys were born and lost so much weight people didn't even know I was pregnant. Then with FEC I was very sick too. I wondered if there was a connection so maybe there is.
Ned, sorry you're still feeling a bit icky. It will pass but it's no fun while it's with you. I was sick for about 5 or 6 days then the rest of the time I was ok so I just tried to keep that in the back of mind while I was attached to the sick bowl
Glad you slept well though.
Topsy, balloon event would have made me leaky eyed too. Sounds like a great weekend though. Good news about not having cancer of the knee. I bet your doctor smiled. I've met another group of ladies from another forum and we have our own private one now. There's 7 of us and we meet two or three times a year in London. We've known each other over 8 years now and they are all dear friends.
Pennies, your new job sounds great. I'm a TA in our village school but only started when DS2 worked there. I've been there 13 years now and love it. When I started, the little ones would sometimes accidentally call me mummy but now they accidentally call me nana. A sign of getting old (or maybe the grey curls).
Good luck for your recon. It's a long op but you'll be fine and, once it's all over, you'll be so glad you had it done.
Well, off to do a bit more housey stuff and then make dinner.
Sending hugs to those who are feeling a bit icky or down today and thanks to our MAS for the Tamoxifen threads.
