good that you have an appointment ned - ds looks very sweet and his hair is so blonde !

OP posts:
SparkleRainbow · 06/02/2012 11:40

He is a cutie Ned!

SparkleRainbow · 06/02/2012 12:11

I know, I know I was supposed to be cleaning, but I just found a cup of tea in my hand and fbs, and decided to sit and read local free mag. I never read the horoscopes as I don't believe in anything like that...but for some reason today I did, for a laugh!!!

I quote " Aquarians are the most difficult and unpredictable creatures" (I beg to differ) just when you appear to be shining, you let everybody down with the other side of your spirit - self pity (do I now). Like the proverbial curtains, you could do with pulling yourself together - your ability to depress yourself is legendary - the effect it has on others is corrosive" (Oh, sorry everyone!)

Well as someone who does not often get down that often, and I think manages to carry on when life throws a wobbly, which is does regularly.....I could not write anything so opposite to me! Quite frankly if I was feeling depressed, that would have finished me off. I am off to be fabulous and 40 now, and update ds' medical records...without getting down and depressed. Grin

SparkleRainbow · 06/02/2012 12:12

Obviously because I pulled myself together like a set of curtains. Wink

If anyone wants to be uplifted by my local mags "horror" scopes, just let me know!

NedSchneebly · 06/02/2012 12:24

Hey sparkle would love a laugh at your mag's horoscopes - lay "scorpio" on me!

Thanks for comments about Little Ned. I think he's cute too - is that allowed? Blush

SparkleRainbow · 06/02/2012 12:29

Yep, parental recognition of cuteness is a necessity.

I was hoping one of you was a Scorpio..... you club hopping lot you.

"You have survived your month of excess - you have an awesome ability to recover from even the most demanding situations. parties are a breeze - you've been clubbing and you've still managed to get up for work the next day. But if you are really serious about a fruitful life now is time to do some serious detoxing and rebalancing- you know it makes sense."

Now Ned...are you listening time to stop all that clubbing....and rebalance yourself.

Nice to see you get an awesome recognition in yours (they got one thing right), me I am letting everyone down.

KurriKurri · 06/02/2012 13:18

Hi all, - I wrote along post but it got wiped away in an offline moment [grr]

Can't face writing it all out again yet, but just checking in to say hi and good luck to everyone having treatment, and hope everyone had a nice weekend.
well done on getting your op done MAS - you are getting to be an old hand at this.
Ned - hope you get an appointment today for the fluid. Good luck with DS's costume (I can't see your photos but he sounds gorgeous)
topsy - tonsillitis not good, take thing easy and get some AB's if you can.
Holsten - I haven't forgotten the book recs. - but I had a big tidy up before Christmas and now I can't find anything Grin will look again later Smile

Update on anonymosity (I don't think you were rude Ned BTW). MNHQ replied and said they didn't like to remove posts just because someone was offensive, but they appreciated the point I made and would keep an eye on the poster. I had hope in this case they would remove - as I'd hate for anyone just DX and told they need tamoxifen to be scared by that post. I haven't heard anything to suggest what i says about the drug is true. However its been left to stand, and anonymosity seems to have left us for the moment.

Sparkle - you corrosive old thing you GrinGrin - I'm sagitarius, does it say 'your post will mysteriously vanish into the ether?'

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/02/2012 13:39

do you know ,I was really quite calm today- I think because the last one went so well I feel I've cracked it ! One,maybe 2 more to go.

Can you tell me what it says about me sparkle ? (Virgo)
And thanks for animosity update kk
Cupcake anyone ?

OP posts:
Gigondas · 06/02/2012 17:03

Back from Olympics -managed not to cry smee Wink and felt an Achievement to go with both dds. But know what you mean about being weepy Smee.

Ned hope you are sorted re fluid. Holsten how are you?

Not sure I want to know my horoscope. Plans changed so now have MRI first thing tomorrow then get disc for oncologist meeting tomorrow at 5. This made me quite nervous again as bracing myself for more scary news. My mum coming over to cover which is good news for moral support/baby help. Need some of mas calm vibes.

Ned /kk I didn't think you were rude and it annoys me when mn like this as you are so right about vulnerable nature of browsers here. They did something similar with a thread which was anti abortion and had someone being very pro life as moved it to the antenatal results thread which has a huge percentage of posters who are deciding to/dealing with terminations due to abnormalities. Free speech is one thing but I think with posts like anon you need to take in the effect on average posters sensibilities given context.

NedSchneebly · 06/02/2012 17:32

Clearly I should be curbing my partying ways and calming down a bit. . . Perhaps this is where I've been going wrong?! < Ned thinks back to yesterday - in pyjamas by, ooh, 6pm? Blush >

I guess having bc is a "demanding situation". . . Excellent horoscope sparkle !!!

Not fluid on boob, possibly haematoma blood clot thing, or infection. Have to go back on Thursday pm for them to have another look and see if red patch and lumpiness has changed/ progressed. If not, its probably a haematoma. . . Confused Still rather sore, so definitely need a delicious cupcake MAS

re anonymosity: I dont think she/ he had read the rest of the thread and hadn't worked out what we are all about over here. . . Point made, I think.

Glad you made it to your dds gym class Gigondas - well done!

Hope everyone else has had a satisfactory Monday?

NedSchneebly · 06/02/2012 17:44

I think I have managed to put a couple of pics of Little Ned on my profile page. . . < Blush at gratuitous promoting of beautiful boy>

KurriKurri · 06/02/2012 18:07

aww - he's a little smasher Ned Smile lovely photos.

regarding anonimosity (although I'm loathe to bring her up again ) MNHQ said they would rather we tackled things that are offensive on thread and explained why they are. To my mind that rather misses the point of this whole thread - if I want to argue over statistics, evidence, and basically talk about unsubstantiated scary things, - I wouldn't do it on a support thread.

Anyhooo, - well done on getting to the olympics gigondas Smile - it was an achievement, - especially in this weather with a tiny one.

My kettle has broken, - I am gasping for a Brew, but on the plus side I have made a big bowl of guacamole (they were selling avocados cheap in asda) and some hummus - to have with raw veg and flat breads for supper. Yum. [DD and I may have already dipped into the guacamole Blush - but it's lovely]

KurriKurri · 06/02/2012 18:10

Although in the interest of fairness, I can see that from the title of the thread, someone might get the wrong end of the stick about what type of thread this is, - you'd only need to read a few posts though. (And really - 19 threads debating tamoxifen - unlikely! Grin)

Gigondas · 06/02/2012 18:11

Smile at 19 threads to discuss . But agree a quick skim shows what it's about and that not just for bc either .

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/02/2012 18:20

we did talk about whether we'd stick with tamoxifen as title on about thread 2 -think we felt we would and it's very much recognised as the cancer thread on mumsnet without actually screaming cancer...
Lots of good vibes (and calming ones) for tomorrow Gigondas
kk grr about kettle but yum @ guacamole and hummus- love both !
Cupcake for poor ned to soothe her bosom.

Kurri - Sagittarius is quite normal... it does say "It is important for you to build on your new found self-confidence, and use the next few months to impress people that you have a voice too" Had you lost it, literally or metaphorically? Nothing about messages disappearing into the ether though.... or clubbing in yours!

MAS for you it is quite normal too it says "There is light at the end of the tunnel. The last few months have been unpredictable at best. So now you have the opportunity to get on with your life."

Anyone a pisces? That is a cracker ...." Your total inability to sort the wheat from the chaff has been the downfall of marriages, businesses and long term friendships. The grass is never greener - it just looks that way. Carpe diem - the famous fish of the day at Italian restaurants - it is not just an aphorism, it's a mantra for Pisceans (literally fish)...look at what you have look at its worth and build on that. Pastures new are invariably full of pats you do not want to stand in." Yep any Pisceans out there...watch out for cow pats in your grass is greener wanderings!

Gigondas - I didn't mean to upset you, I just thought some of them were funny. You are having a dreadful time at the moment. I am sure MAS has got some calming influence to pass on. I shall be thinking of you. x

KurriKurri · 06/02/2012 20:09

I wonder who I need to impress? - pity there's no clubbing for me though Grin

Cow pats I can identify with - plenty of those round here, maybe I have pisces rising in uranus.

Gigondas · 06/02/2012 20:19

You didn't sparkle Smile - am just horribly nervous.
Still at least get latest test bout done tomorrow .

topsyturner · 06/02/2012 20:58

What about Libra sparkle ?

Good luck for tomorrow Gigondas , hope you get some answers and a plan to go forward with .

Throat feels lumpy still , but have actually felt quite good today .

Am going away for the weekend at the end of next week for a weekend of drunken debauchery with my girlies . It's a crowd of women I met on a different website 8 years ago and we all meet up for a mad weekend every year .
So looking forward to it . I am betting that the whole lot of them turn up with their own false boobies , as they are not a crowd who will allow me to wallow Grin
It's a tradition for us to turn up at the airport wearing different costume , since the first year when we picked up a friend with a 20 foot banner bearing the ledgend "S* (persons name) show us your tits"
Last year we picked them up from the airport and they were wearing sombreros , moustaches and smoking cigars !

This year we are thinking of having t shirts made up with our various special talents written on them . Mine will simply say "CANCER" Grin

Might not suit everybody , but I just need a weekend of being treated like a normal person , and I know these ladies will .

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/02/2012 22:17

wow that sounds like some weekend topsy - have a blast !!

kk My Auntie heated up water in the microwave for one Brew at a time. In the great storm of '87 I remember finding a match to light the gas hob and boiling a saucepan full of water to make Brew so it is possible without a kettle...

jchocchip · 06/02/2012 22:57

Sparkle your local rag has a talented horoscope writer :)

Yay for Topsy's weekend :)

+ve vibes for gigondas for tomorrow.

Knackered here. Didn't think I would be so tired going back to work. Had a good day though. Passed my checkup at the dentist dh needs a filling repair but he knew that when it fell out last week. Dd2 needs her second filling but ds and dd1 still have a clean sheet :) Went out to the Toby carvery for a treat - nice to be together as a family, doesn't happen often now ds is at uni. Hope you all sleep well tonight.

KurriKurri · 06/02/2012 23:05

yes good vibes from me too Gigondas for tomorrow, we'll all be thinking of you xx

topsy - you're weekend plans sound great, fun, hope you have a brilliant time Smile

jane - DH picked up one of those £5 kettles from Sainsbury's on the way home so we are OK now. I was boiling little pans this afternoon, but we have such hard water here that you get a really thick white deposit in water when you boil it on the hob, - so it's not too nice.

jchocchip · 07/02/2012 05:35

Oh I see kk. I remember the kettle chalking up when we lived in Kent, we had a thing to put in it. Lovely soft water here in Yorkshire though, so I've stopped worrying about hard water. I can't sleep now. Maybe because I spent too much of the evening zzzing on the sofa?
