Spacecadet has asked me to get everyone who was concerned about her know, that she was admitted to hospital last night. she is currently in MAU, where she will be for up 48 hours depending on how she responds to treatment. She had another chest x-ray and is on IV antibiotics and also a drip as she was dehydrated.She has asked me to say thankyou to everyone who was concerned about her.

Spacey, just to ease your mind so you can sleep...you know...I wouldn't equate your DH's behaviour with not caring about you. I know it feels and looks like that, and its far from caring behaviour, but I doubt its about you in that way - from all you say, he's probably not capable of behaving any different. Doesn't make it ok, won't stop you grieving, being angry, sad and hurt, but self-centredness is just that: its about HIM. Not about you.
I agree with the posts saying you just need to get better for now...and then later, when you're well, get some support with it all: Relate sounds like a good idea to me, too.
My DH is a couple therapist, and he wouldn't try and treat a couple where one half was ill with pneumonia, I can tell you

Aw spacecadet...can I just tell you that the first time I had pleurisy I kept soldiering on and it was when dd1 was starting school so 30 mins walk at 8.30 and 11.30 everyday on top of nursery runs etc and dp didnt take any time off and I was up all night everynight spewing up water from my lungs and I was surprised every morning when I woke up and wasnt dead but dd1 had to get to school so up I got bla bla...im sure you know what I mean.
Anyway, it was oh...years ago now but I still fester at the fact I had to ask him to take 1 day off work when I simply couldnt go on and on that day at 6.30 in the morning he woke me up and asked if I really needed him to take the day off
Cannot believe that someone can be so f*ing uncaring and STUPID.
So you are not alone, but wait and see, maybe see if he will go to councelling it really does sound like he needs it.

Just to let you know its not just you that has an insensitive arse. Never, since that day have I had an ounce of sympathy for him im afraid. Just cant. I thought I was going to die...and he was asking if...OHHHHHHHHHH dont...gotta go get in bed with him now lol...hope your feeling better soon. Still on pills? I musy go to bed im shattered, will catch up in morn xx

yes im still on anti-bs, you have my sympathy charlicat, i hope you got your own back next time he was ill.

How are you getting on spacecadet? Hope the help provided by nannyk (a star, IMO) is making a huge difference.

nannyk has just left and I can honestly say that im really sad to see her go, not just because shes an excellent nanny but also because shes a really lovely person too.

i dont know..i will let you know after tomorrow!
i will prob manage a lot better than i would have done had i not had nannyk here, at least i have had a few days rest also the meals that you and gizmo delivered were brilliant and really helped, all nannyk had to do was pop them in the oven.
you have got me hooked on green and blacks chocolate now though

Hi everyone, I'm home after a lovely few days at Spaceys. Hopefully I was more of a help than a hindrance!! It was a pleasure to be there, and her kids are a delight (particularly DD2 who it has to be said has THE most gorgeous smile!)! Like I said, Spacey, I'm happy to come and help any time (current job permitting) and hope you get better quickly. I just wanted to add many many thanks to Gizmo and CQ for their help too, it was delicious (and rather a treat!) to be able to just throw something in the oven rather than create it from scratch! And all you Mumsnetters who are being so kind and so generous as to help contribute towards my help, well I am lost for words. It's really a wonderful thing you're all doing and I am so grateful too. I wish I could give all of you a hug but this will have to do (((((((((())))))))))))))) Many thanks
