I am in total agony

Yesterday I woke up with pain in my right arm at the top. Saw a pharmacist to ask about pain relief and she felt I had pulled a muscle. Went to bed last night with it covered in deep heat and still in pain and I couldn't lie on it. This morning it is fine but the whole of my left arm round to my breast and back is absolute agony and there is no way I can lift anything with it. Could it be my FM or something else? I am hoping to see an osteopath on Tuesday but I feel like crying it hurts so much. I have so much to do today, I can't be out of action.

I have to take 2 tramodol and then call back if I don't feel better.

I don't feel as bad at the moment (pain relief kicking in I hope) and my breathing has calmed down. Bag packed just in case and will go if no better once I have taking the 2 tablets in 12 minutes.

shitmagnet - do you mean a FM flare up?

Goodnight FAB. Looking forward to hearing how much better you feel tomorrow having been seen by a medical professional.

Hope you are feeling better this morning Fab

TheOriginalFAB · 14/11/2011 07:25

Thanks B. I have some pain in my neck and have been a bit breathless but nothing like yesterday. DH is taking the kids to school and I am going to have a shower and try and take it easy. Lots to do so will have to pace myself. I also need to ring for a doctors appointment for a cholesterol check and an ECG.

You will be fine. Explain how bad yesterday was and that you don't want to go through it again, it was scary.

I saw the doctor I really like and thankfully he had already had the report from the OOH doctor. He examined me and felt it isn't a problem with my heart as I am feeling pain when he touched me, and if it was my heart I wouldn't feel any pain on touch. The ECG machine is broken so he has referred me for one and I am having a cholestoral check on Thursday. He has advised me to take a tramodol and 2 paracetomol (just done) because of the pain and if I get crushing chest pain again to go straight to A & E or phone 999. I get breathing issues when I am having an anxiety attack so I am trying really hard not to let them get out of hand.

I want to thank all of you for your support yesterday and this morning. It must have annoyed you that I didn't ring 999, I just didn't feel I needed it and having had an ambulance sent to me a few weeks ago which was a false alarm, I felt too embarrassed if it happened again.

I hope you are addressing your anxiety too in amongst all this, you certainly don't want that to take over...
Good job you saw your preferred doctor!
Take care.

Becaroooo · 14/11/2011 11:21

My cat is very ill and I am waiting to speak to the vet. I am going to be heartbroken when she goes and feel very stupid that I am letting it get to me so much. Not doing very well at taking it easy but I am doing what needs to be done, slowly.

OP posts:
Becaroooo · 14/11/2011 11:46

Sorry to hear that.

Both my dc are ill today (colds/coughs) so I will have it by the end of the week! Oh well.

Sparklingbrook · 14/11/2011 12:05

Thinking of you (and your cat) FAB.

TheOriginalFAB · 14/11/2011 12:59

Oh Bec, that is rotten. I had a cold and cough last week and am worried mine are going to get something after having to sit in a stuffy waiting room yesterday with several ill children.

Thank you Sparklingbrook.

FABCat is sleeping and I am going to have a salad and sit down until school time having done all the ironing, folded up a washing mountain and stripped the bed.
