I am in total agony

Yesterday I woke up with pain in my right arm at the top. Saw a pharmacist to ask about pain relief and she felt I had pulled a muscle. Went to bed last night with it covered in deep heat and still in pain and I couldn't lie on it. This morning it is fine but the whole of my left arm round to my breast and back is absolute agony and there is no way I can lift anything with it. Could it be my FM or something else? I am hoping to see an osteopath on Tuesday but I feel like crying it hurts so much. I have so much to do today, I can't be out of action.

I don't know about FM FAB. But I wish I had a magic wand.

TheOriginalFAB · 13/11/2011 15:01

Thank you.

FAB this sounds like its seperate from the FM and pain like that should not be ignored. Please seek further help. Even if its just to get diazepam and codeine to knock you out for a the night. Hope it eases soon

Back from OOH. Said in my favour for having a heart attack was the fact my mother had one in her 50's. Shock. Got tramodol. Really hope it helps and takes the pain away.

I have to go to GP tomorrow and get an ECG done and my cholesterol checked.

I am pleased that you have been seen FAB. Hope the Tramadol does the trick and you can do the school run tomorrow. But if you can't you can't-don't risk it. Smile

DH has already said he will take them if I can't. I am worried about the drousiness the tablets can bring on when I am driving.

You have had such a horrible day. Try and have an early night, you must be shattered-being in pain is so tiring. Hope you get on ok with GP tomorrow.

TheOriginalFAB · 13/11/2011 17:49

DH just made me some jam on toast. He is being lovely. I am going to bed early. Hoping the pain relief kicks in quickly.

FFS I have had enough now. Pain not eased and now breathing is going weird.

Sparklingbrook · 13/11/2011 20:15

FAB Please go to A&E if you are having breathing difficulties. You are still in pain too.

TheOriginalFAB · 13/11/2011 20:18

Just done inhaler to see if it is asthma and need to give it a few minutes.

Sparklingbrook · 13/11/2011 20:20

Ok. I think the painkillers should have taken effect by now. Was hoping you were tucked up in bed sleeping soundly. Sad

TheOriginalFAB · 13/11/2011 20:22

It feels more anxiety attack like than asthma tbh but I am starting to feel sleepy. I am just sitting with my cat at the moment as she isn't well but then I am going for a hot bath. Thanks for sticking with me SB.

FAB please take your pulse...or get DH to take it. When my heart went into an irregular rhythm I'd had pain in my arm and back all day.

Sparklingbrook · 13/11/2011 20:26

No problem FAB. What does your DH think you should do?

ballstoit Did you go to A&E?

TheOriginalFAB · 13/11/2011 20:29

TheOriginalFAB · 13/11/2011 20:29

pulse is 80.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 13/11/2011 20:31

Don't be scared FAB. You should get seen and sorted out and at least be pain free.

tink123 · 13/11/2011 20:31

It could be a pulmonary embolism. I would seriously get to A&E asap.

justonemorethread · 13/11/2011 20:33

Just want to post to say hope you will be ok. No medical knowledge so can't offer any practical help.... Can't believe you are still posting on mumnset!

orienteerer · 13/11/2011 20:35

80 pulse is entirely normal so why?

TheOriginalFAB · 13/11/2011 20:36

dh thinks i should go to bed.

OP posts:
tink123 · 13/11/2011 20:37

Tramadol is a seriously strong pain killer. It should have worked by now. Pls go and get checked out

ginmakesitallok · 13/11/2011 20:40

When your DP told OOHs that it wasn't a heart attack what was their reply? Did they still advise 999?
