DD (3) has viral pneumonia
Two weeks ago she had tummy bug and the week before that tonsilitis.
She has never had this many illnesses altogether let alone one after the other.
Who else is soothing high temps, wiping green noses and cuddling poorly babes as they hack and wheeze away with a rotten cough.
I want a magic wand, she is such a little trooper.

meeeee

ds1 was off nursery all last week being horribly sick, went back yesterday and was up all night again being sick, he is at nursery though

he wanted to go and teachers agrred now feel awful for sending him

festiveface · 13/12/2005 14:45

my son is off school again today. Convinced his teacher must think i'm neurotic or something. Last week he was off monday, in Tuesday then off the rest of the week. Then yesterday he went to school and is off again today.
Problem is he isn't really bad in himself, but, he isn't eating, is tired and had a low grade fever all last week.
last night he was sick and today he says his tummy doesn't feel right...whatever that means!
am i being to soft ere?
will probably be in a dilemma again tomorrow as to whether he's fit enough for school.
it's been 2 weeks now, NEVER known him be like this for this length of time before.
I think we mums all deserve a medal!

Cold, diarrhoea, bit of vom, - fortunately DP is REALLY ill so dd appreciates how lucky she is. I've been awake since ten past one - with DP. DD, a delightful patient, woke for a bottle at six which she kept down and went back to sleep until eight.

geranium · 13/12/2005 20:06

Ds has vomiting Thursday and very upset tummy Sunday with being pretty below par since Thursday. I've now caught the vomiting and dh the other bit . Also on AB for breast & ear infection but worried vomiting is neutralising the ABs which is a shame because I'm getting up at 4am each morning to take one of the 4 daily doses. Can't believe how ill everyone else is. Hope we all get better soon and especially in time for Xmas.

joanna4 · 13/12/2005 20:34

Well my daughter got hives on 20th november yes november and has been a tiny bit up and down but a week last saturday she was sent home from brownie camp ill. Then her temp was very high for 4 days and when i got to the docs i was told it was a virus cos she had sickness. So by last friday seemed not as unwell but on saturday threw up big time. So i took her to emergency docs and she has a kidney infection with no presenting symptoms beyond the temp.
Finally we have antibiotics but not till my girl was really ill,now she needs a scan to determine if she has long term scarring on her kidney.
Poor love she is 9 too and has energy of a 90 year old.

edhj69 · 13/12/2005 21:18

a month of colds "viral skin infections" which looked a lot like german measles and caused me to shout why the fck did we debate about the MMR so long he's had it and done no bl*dy good, viral ear infections and a boss whose docking my wages for taking time off to look after 2 yr old DS. Merry Xmas one and all.

geranium · 13/12/2005 21:29

spoke too soon. ds is now throwing up again . Still, as the world's biggest hypercondriac + being pregnant, it is a good exercise in worrying about someone else more than me!

DS seemed to have a bit of his old Sparkle this evening!! (Thank you God!)

Epiphany, how did it go? Bet she ruptured a blood vessel with the coughing didn't she? And how did your mammorgram go?

SJ x

nannyjo · 13/12/2005 21:36

Ds has been ill for a month and just seems to be back on top form thank god but i heard on the news there is an outbreak of sickness and they closed loads of hospital wards in our area. Seems mad but i just dont want him getting ill AGAIN, not for xmas.

Might stay in till new year! Not really.

PruniStuffing · 13/12/2005 21:45

DD has RSV, which had gone away but I fear tonight is coming back.
Bugger.

jambothesnowman · 13/12/2005 22:28

better make that all3 of mine now

MistyEyed · 14/12/2005 10:56

2 off school / nursery here. DD urinary infections & on the ABs. DS vomiting all last night & fever. It was meant to be a shopping trip with adult lunch thrown in but here I am mopping up vomit.

GingerBearingGifts · 14/12/2005 11:08

DD (3) has a high temperature, cough, snotty, earache and a rash. A little better today than yesterday.

GingerBearingGifts · 14/12/2005 11:31

How did the mammogram go Piff?

Icemum · 14/12/2005 14:03

Still got poorly DD3, and just hadd to collect DD1 from school with stomach pains.

kaylasmum · 14/12/2005 15:01

2 year old DD has a bad chesty cough and has been off her food for the past week and had to collect 14 year old DD from school as she had been sick, though she has managed to eat 3 packets of crisps since she came home. And last of all me, i have the most awful back pain, think i've slipped a disc and painkillers are doing nothing for me. Why do these things always hapen around christmas?

Epiffany · 14/12/2005 15:01

DD better today, still choking coughing but temp is finally below 39 and she is showing interest in toast and jam, she has lost nearly a kg and as she is underweight for her age this means she feels like skin and bone.
The docs had another listen to her chest this morning nd said while the chest isn;t clearing as well as they would hope, she herself is looking better so we should see an improvement in her bretahing in 24 hrs.
My mammogram went fine, nothing to worry about at the moment thx GB.
I now have a really nasty headcold and sore throat so am bogging off to bed.

Hi,
My DD 2 and half had just a chesty cough. Nothing else. I suppose we were lucky so far. By the way, would not be much better if all kids were staying at home from schools and nurseries as soon as they develop any symptoms of any cold or flu? Why taking kids there or for a shopping trip when they feel not well? I think it is just spreading between them if they are in touch at schools. Parents should be more encouraged by teachers to keep unwell kids at home.
