DD (3) has viral pneumonia
Two weeks ago she had tummy bug and the week before that tonsilitis.
She has never had this many illnesses altogether let alone one after the other.
Who else is soothing high temps, wiping green noses and cuddling poorly babes as they hack and wheeze away with a rotten cough.
I want a magic wand, she is such a little trooper.

Well it is like Emergency Ward 10 in this house.

I have my third dose of AB's for this cough that I have had for about three months,it has now teamed up with a cold in an effort to win (cheating me thinks).

DH has just announced, that he is too porly to go to work, he thought he had a bad back, but he now suspects his kidneys, as it hurts even when he is lying there doing nothing.

And DS well he a has a hacking cough and.................

DD (4) has a bad cough. She's had it for about 2 and a half weeks now, but it does finally seem to be easing slightly, especially at night. She hardly slept at all last week, bless her! She hasn't missed any school with it though.

DS (2) has a heavy cold, with a chesty cough, and is complaining that his ears are hurting him this morning. Spent all yesterday afternoon crying and I couldn't calm him down at all - poor lamb!

AnnieSG · 13/12/2005 09:38

Yup, we're in a similar boat to y'all. The littlest is fine (the chest infection of a week ago having now gone) but the eldest was sick everywhere at 5am and is off school now. Today was meant to be a long-awaited big treat for me, with haircut and lunch with friend. I wish I was grown-up enough not to mind.

BearintheBigBlueHouse · 13/12/2005 09:38

Thing 1 and Thing 2 are lying on sofas under blankets coughing like it's an isolation hospital (which they also did ALL night) and are not going to nursery AAARRRGGGHH

Anchovy · 13/12/2005 09:44

Quite stupendously large amounts of vomit from DS (4) last night. It very nearly filled a washing up bowl! This was the second time in about 4 weeks and this time it was my turn to bath him, put clean jamas on and then put him into our bed and cuddle him till he had calmed down and gone to sleep. DH's job was to strip the bed, scrape all the sick off the carpet, sponge the carpet, put bedding in the bath and spray off the worst of it, do 3 loads of washing, remake the bed. He didn't want his supper after that!

Epiffany · 13/12/2005 09:48

this am she has coughed up xome blood.
Off to A+E now fits in nicely with my mammogram in 2 hours

Yep, both kids have colds here. Last week they were both healthy for the first time in a month. For a whole week, whoopee. I'm praying we're all healthy at Christmas.

Roll on Spring.

Luckily I'm working from home today (not that my boss knows I'm at home looking after her)...she wouldn't understand...39, director, career career...no children! Expects us all to work full time with the same 150% commitmment we had pre babies....I'd get a right bollocking

LilacBump · 13/12/2005 12:00

i said below DD had a fever & headache. fever is back now with an awful cough.

nikkie · 13/12/2005 12:03

dd2 has cough and snotty nose, dd1 not well for ages see here

JESSnutsRoastinOnAnOpenFire · 13/12/2005 12:07

My DS is worrying me a bit at the moment. He has CP and is prone to chestiness... but at the moment, he has been coughing for weeks.. and has twice relapsed back into a chest infection requiring antibiotics.. which seems to perk him up/improve matters.. but think there is something viral going on as well making him generally under the weather.

He is very tired at the moment largely due, I am sure, to long coughing fits in the night, every night, for ages. His appretite exists.. but is not good, when usually he LOVES to eat.

There are some truly horrid bugs about this year. Big sympathy hugs to you all are your LOs.

SJ x

gggimmesnowsnow · 13/12/2005 12:15

Coriander - how old is your daughter and how is the bronchiolitis being treated? My dd is 11 months and is very ill - daily physio, nebulisers, antibiotics the works. She looks awful too.²

puppyisnotjustforxmas · 13/12/2005 12:44

Another one here,
Ds has had a tummy bug recently and he has got a really bad cough which i would say he has had for approx 6wks, its worse during the night and he has not been sleeping too good, just returned from gps and he has been put on a decongestant so fingers crossed this one will work.

missy8 · 13/12/2005 13:07

KateF · 13/12/2005 13:13

Chicken pox here as well - poor dd3 (16 months) is spotty and miserable and I have numerous end of term things to do, aaaaaargh!

mumoftreasures · 13/12/2005 13:48

Yes, I've got two DSs off school at the same time. from sunday evening they had a high fever, which has subsided now, but they are not well. Yesterday was easy, they couldn't do anything but watch Superted a 1000 times, but today they want to play but are not really up to it. Crying, whingeing, getting on each other's nerves, aaargh. Tomorrow they HAVE to go to school again, for my sanity's sake!

Niddlynono · 13/12/2005 14:03

Yep, DS (3) has a fever, cough & cold!

darlinggirl · 13/12/2005 14:22

For all those who have children with sore throats and runny noses, and coughs leading to vomiting. Try the following, make and infusion of grated raw ginger with boiling water. use a little of the infused water with honey and lemon, topped up with more boiling water. Helps to ease throat and chest, reduces inflammation and soreness in the throat, gives temporary relief froma blocked nose/sinuses and tastes nice!

Here's hoping every one gets better soon (hugs)
