peters vad site is leaking a lot of fluid. indication of bad infection, he has pain in his back and feels rotton. swabs have been taken. am hoping infection doesnt get a grip too quickly as last time it set his ICD off 5times in 24hours, and its horrible. i have to phone in the morning to find out whats happening and if i can take the kids in or not.

it was fun driving in the dark tho [wobbly face] Peter was howing me his bruises that have come from his injections, some were huge!!!

mymama · 17/11/2005 02:36

misdee thinking of you and peter. Really hope they can get him more comfortable quickly. Sending positive thoughts to you, peter and the children.

hub2dee · 17/11/2005 03:27

Hi misdee and sparkly ! Well done for getting down there. Now you've both got licences, you should attempt to build up the hours spent getting experience of night driving - even with shorter local trips for no good reason; I know it can feel quite difficult ! Just take your time, cut your speed if you feel you need to, and use your mirrors a bit more so you always feel you know what's going on around you and you get less surprise when people come up behind / overtake etc. etc. Oh, and watch out as the temperature dips ! Ice on the roads is not funny !

Anyway........... I'm up at 3 to find out how things went (plus v. sore throat so can't sleep, LOL), and am relieved your star is still making jokes and being positive. Aside from speaking with the pain nurse it sounds like the blood-thinning drugs might need to get looked at, hey (I presume this is part of the reason the wound is still bleeding and the injections sites are bruised so bad) ?

If you have some spare time, track down the right person to have a moan to at the hossie about the perceived reduction in standards of care or access to supervising doctors - maybe there have been some staff changes / restructuring ? Maybe knock out a letter so there's a record of someome saying 'this needs to be looked at, urgently' (you could copy the hospital's Trust Chairperson too etc....)

Thinking of you guys !

Oh , misdee, I'm so sorry.

Springchicken · 17/11/2005 08:28

I so wish I could just come and collect you.
Have you spoken to Peter? How is he in himself?

misdee · 17/11/2005 08:32

he wants to die. thats how he is. god i hatew this. i want the pain to go for him as well, and lately i am thinking that this is the end, and part of me wants it to be so he isnt suffering anymore, so he is free of this pain and the hell he is enduring. maybe it was wrong to go with LVAD and should've let him go months ago.

i dont know what to do anymore.

LadyTophamHatt · 17/11/2005 08:33

I know you're tired misdee, but have you have breakfast and tea?
You may feel better if you do and will be able to drive.

You'll be fine, just take it slow.

noddyholder · 17/11/2005 08:33

Misdee if he is feeling like this he really needs some sort of psychiatric help to get him through this as you have small children to look after it is too much for you to take this on aswell. Can the hospital provide professional help for him?I am really surprised he hasn't had this already.I am so sorry you are going through this but can also see it from his point of view as it is easy to vent everything to your closest xx

LadyTophamHatt · 17/11/2005 08:34

Misdee, you have to go.
eat now, and you'll feel ok to drive.

Adrenaline will keep you safe and aware.

Springchicken · 17/11/2005 08:36
