peters vad site is leaking a lot of fluid. indication of bad infection, he has pain in his back and feels rotton. swabs have been taken. am hoping infection doesnt get a grip too quickly as last time it set his ICD off 5times in 24hours, and its horrible. i have to phone in the morning to find out whats happening and if i can take the kids in or not.

Well, tomorrow sounds like a plan ! Hope you get to see him ASAP.

3-5times a week. last week i managed 4 days. all depends on what else is happening. dd2 had physio one day last week which meant i couldnt get there, then i was having to wait for one car to be collected and the other dropped off.

just phoned again. still no antibiotics perscribed, temp still spiking (39 degrees and rising apparently), no docs been in yet. all this leakage and unresponsive tp [revious antibiotics are making me wonder if it may be MRSA.

i;m not sure whats taking so long aimsmum, swabs were taken on saturday, and blood also sent tpo the lab for tests, but AFAIK nothing has come back yet. usually they wil lstart with wide spectrum anti biotics to hopefully see if it will respond, but as he has had so many over the last 2months i think they are holding off for the lab results. but he feels really rough.

just got a text from him, says bloods are clear so they dont know what to give. fgs just soemthing to make him confortable. he is in so much pain.

misdee - just caught up with this - knew you were having a bad weekend but didn't realise quite how bad. .

misdee I had mrsa caught in my dialysis line I was covered in bruises and had a really high temp The result came from the lab in a couple of days Could he have a kidney infection?Have they sent off a urine sample?They can make you feel really rough but don't always show in bloods.You really are going through it Thinking of you and really praying you get some good luck soon.xx

jusat back. apprently he sent a message this morning to my mobile saying not to come but i left my phone at home. so i went. they have packed his wound out where his vad is, to try and stem the bleeding and stop further infections. blood pressure is very low, it went 40/30 at 2am, which is when they started to take it very seriously. his bp is now 60/30, still very low. its very worrying, and very tiring for him. so have left him to get some rest, and hoping he picks up over the next few days.
