So glad to hear this, and so relieved that all seems well.

What a nightmare for you, but brilliant that there was so much good advice on here.

Hope you can relax a bit now.

TS - so glad everything is OK now. Give him lots of cuddles!

I think we have all learned a lot from your experience and this thread.

How old is your DS by the way?

I think in a way it is understandable to just wait and wonder. We never think it will happen to us and we trust our GPs. And as you said you didn't think he seemed THAT ill.

GeorginaA · 10/11/2005 21:57

So glad, TS ... have been thinking about you all day.

Love and Hugs
G.

QueenVictoria · 10/11/2005 23:06

TS - only just read this! Sorry i missed it, had wondered where you were

Glad he is home with you and seems better.

hunkermunker · 10/11/2005 23:09

So glad to read your update, TS!

I think I understand why you didn't go immediately - it's almost like if you take them to hospital something will be wrong. Mad logic, but I have fought with that myself when DS has had high temps in the past.

Think your GP needs a boot for not taking a non-fading rash seriously though. Might not get away with it next time

QueenVictoria · 10/11/2005 23:16

btw - i missed my DDs illness when she was rushed in. I didnt think it was serious but my DP was adamant she was really ill and i thought she was playing me up (making a "daft" or so i thought, grunting noise).

I told my DP "well you ring the bloody doctor then if you think she is so ill". He did and emergency doc said "by the sounds of her breathing you need to call an ambulance NOW".

Yes, im stupid but I just didnt believe my child can get that ill without it being v obvious IYSWIM.

Skyler · 11/11/2005 05:42

Thank goodness you are home. You and your ds have been on my mind and I am so happy to see this news this morning. Take care.

Springchicken · 11/11/2005 08:55

Great news TS - Good idea about keeping the biro marks on as an indicator. Hope all is well this morning too

DD is much better, still very hot but not as grouchy. She spent the whole night in just her nappy, we had no heating on at all and she was still very hot when she woke up this morning but temp had gone down to 36. On Call doc said it is probably ear ache, ear infection or the like.
