dunno mittz. my body seems to want to eat it's way out of it. have had 3 days of no alcohol and lots of rest and fluids and food.

think brians right, it's just winter and winter bugs and usual winter exhaustion. i always seem to struggle with november.

Sad for ds. i guess just be honest with him and fearless in listening and try not to water it down/justify/trivialise stuff that happened.

MittzyBittzyTeenyWeeny · 25/11/2010 15:54

I might approach them about that Brickie. He came home and erupted because he internalises and then can't cope (no reason why he should). I might take it up I hadn't thought of that side.

SantaIsAnAnagramOfSatan · 25/11/2010 15:57

x posted thanks bitter. still have loads of salmon in the freezer so that'd be good.

Grin at brians dd learning from the best brickie

MittzyBittzyTeenyWeeny · 25/11/2010 15:58

Oh God I love salmon.... I could eat a 5 course meal based just on salmon...

anotherbrickinthewall · 25/11/2010 16:00

coz if you think about, the soaps often have phonelines etc - if you are affected by the issues in this episode then you can phone xyz tonight. and it's not as if soaps really have a responsibiity towards the viewers. whereas if schools are raising sensitive issues that are likely to affect children who have no choice in attending the lesson....

Mouseface · 25/11/2010 16:01

Mittz - poor DS. DD has something called Growing Minds where emotions and feelings are explored. Do you think your DS is doing something like that? Sad

Satan - mwah and snuggles to you. I have no idea what is wrong with you lovely but you have been running on empty for ages! Maybe your holiday will resolve that?

Bitter - shhhh, I'm still starving too. All 10st 2lbs of my wobbly ass!!! Grrrr.

Brickie - theory is fab but he's none oral so won't swallow anything. Smile

Brian - thanks, how is Mole???

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 25/11/2010 16:06

For Mittz and Satan Smile

Salmon and broccoli pasta

Broccoli
Salmon fillets
Sun blushed tomatoes in oil (or use sun dried tomato puree)
Pasta
Fresh basil
cheddar

Pull a head of broccoli into florets, chuck in a pan with some pasta and cook for 15-20 minutes.Drain water

Add chopped Toms or puree, basil and marscapone to the pan.

Stick salmon fillets in an oven proof dish, cover with the pasta mix, top with grated cheese and bung in the oven until the cheese is bubbling and golden.

Eat.Grin

SantaIsAnAnagramOfSatan · 25/11/2010 16:23

thanks bitter.

it is ridiculously cold.

i now have on a vest, a long fitting jumper, a small fitting cardi and a looser all wool cardi.

dreading going out there to pick up ds!

SantaIsAnAnagramOfSatan · 25/11/2010 16:29

know no one ever agrees with me but i'd really rather kids went to school in summer and had the long break over winter. then you could either migrate or hibernate in winter.

everyone always disagrees and says but at least in summer you can do nice things and enjoy england etc. i can do that when ds is at school in peace! i don't want to walk to school and back in the dark and cold or to have ds there catching every bloody bug available.

with my plan there'd be less transmission of winter viruses, less road accidents, schools would save a fortune on heating and kids would not lose so many days education to school closures in bad weather. yes flights would be expensive in winter instead of summer but you could pick destinations where accommodation and food etc is cheap to compensate for that. plus people would get time off when they need it, when they're knackered, snotty and cold and naturally want to stay home rather than when it's sunny and nice and you have good energy levels.

i feel compelled to soapbox this all to you! no one will ever listen to me but we're meant to work in summer and rest in winter it's nature goddammit!

SantaIsAnAnagramOfSatan · 25/11/2010 16:30

no one not know one obviously. ranting is not good for grammar.

SantaIsAnAnagramOfSatan · 25/11/2010 16:31

oh and people would have time to do their christmas shopping and prepare and genuinely have a nice relaxing family time.

anotherbrickinthewall · 25/11/2010 16:36

thats' actually quite convincing santa...maybe if they split the hols so it was 3.5 in winter and 3.5 in summer?

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 25/11/2010 16:41

Sounds good to me. I always said I want to hibernate. Wake me up for christmas.

anotherbrickinthewall · 25/11/2010 17:05

for my school run, I wore one long skirt and top. Two cardigans. One padded jacket. gloves. and one woolly snood. And I was going on the bus both ways Blush.

SantaIsAnAnagramOfSatan · 25/11/2010 17:48

off to get ds and clear my head from the bullshite of that thread and thank the lord not to be surrounded by bitches in real life.

anotherbrickinthewall · 25/11/2010 17:50

wrap up warm!

Mouseface · 25/11/2010 18:20

Evening, tis me, Mouseface.

I am pouring water onto the log burner to create more steam for Nemo to breathe. Nurse has called and asked if we should put him on a nebuliser.

No thanks, let's just get this place steamy! Grin

Brickie - it's bloody freezing out there! Truly biting wind. OUCH on the skin type of wind.

Saf - I hope you have headed out there totally wrapped up as advised!!

DUBS!!!! DUBS!!!! Oi,DUBS!!!!! Where are you?? Are you ok DUBS??

Brian - Mole is on lanzaprozole tablets, right? For some reason, Nemo is on suspension this time around. It expires after two weeks so I have to try and remember to order more. Wonder why they changed it when last time I had to disolve the tabs?

Maybe they think it's easier. Christ, that'll never catch on, someone helping me out.

DH is having chilli for dinner, I'm on hoops, DD is on pasta and tomato sauce. Packed lunch done. Bath for Nemo run.

I feel a glass or two of wine coming on ........

Actually, Satan, you can't be a full on or even a semi alcoholic! You've not had a drink for three days!! Smile
