General election 2024

Farage has announced that he'll be making an announcement...

Westfacing · 03/06/2024 12:16

... an 'emergency' announcement, no less.

Presumably to announce he's finally plucked up courage to put his money were his big mouth is and stand for Parliament, after bottling it!

The point is people have had enough of the lying fuckers that are the conservatives and the moronic Labour twats who think a women can have a penis.

Good luck to him, he’s got my vote.

(I’ll expect the usual abuse from mumsnet, the free speech site where no one can actually speak freely, unless you’re a leftie, without being shouted down as a moron).

Exactly! This lot ( leftists in MN) are also the most mouth fouled of them all. It is all insults and swearing. Apparently they are all voting Labour because they are kind and caring. Some of them sound like straight from the Eden Lake film. Most scary thing is that a lot of them have mentioned they are state school teachers.

Lonelycrab · 03/06/2024 17:10

After the GE he’ll look to merge with the Conservatives and throw his hat into the ring to become leader of the opposition

I don’t think that’ll happen. The decimated remnants of the party will eject the right leaning element of the party ie Braverman, Gullis etc and return to a more centrist position and rebuild from there. It was the party trying to harness the populist hard right vote that got them into this mess in the first place.

Do you understand why teachers would vote Labour?

Why I do not understand is how come they are teachers to begin with? Hopefully you get what I meant. There is not need for swearing and insulting to make your points. Let alone from a school teacher. I expect much better.

Agree! Easy to be 'caring and sharing' until you experience the downside of it personally

Lol, I am old and don't understand how that works.

I'm over the moon. If he ran the UK and Trump ran the US then maybe this world would finally stop going to hell.

What do you like about Farage and Trump? I can’t take either of them seriously and I’ve been trying (and failing) to work out what some voters see in them.

I think that they will swing MORE right after this election - they’ll try and blame the loss on not sticking to their “traditional values” enough. Unless Labour really cock things up (let’s be honest, not out of the realms of possibility) we’re looking at a 2 term Government, as it’s likely the Tories will swing right, get their asses handed to them at the 2029-ish election and then move back to the centre again ready for 2034-ish.

I'm sure the national shortage of teachers will be improved by banning them from saying fuck in their free time.

Is it time for me to roll out my favourite Farage Fact again?

Nigel Farage is younger than Brad Pitt (by about 4 months)

Yes he does not have Hollywood star looks. Do other leaders/ MPs?

Good thing most of us vote for polices and keep looks for our personal life 😁

I like a lot of things but right now they are both very hot on illegal immigration and I think that it's really one of the largest issues in the world at the moment. Also they both oppose gender ideology.

Erm the poster you're agreeably replying to there just included four insults and two cuss words in their three-sentence post.

After the GE he’ll look to merge with the Conservatives and throw his hat into the ring to become leader of the opposition.

He has just increased the chances of Ed Davey being leader of the opposition.

How does that work? Last time I looked Reform were scoring higher than the Lib Dems and for potential votes and thd Conservatives were scoring higher than both of them.

Algiz20 · 03/06/2024 17:25

Well he has to get his mohey from somewhere now that Putin is effectively otherwise engaged....and let's face it, is there any job Farage could do except spiv or Tory mouthpiece?

BiggerBoat1 · 03/06/2024 17:28

Farage is a racist, homophobic and dangerous man. I genuinely cannot understand why anyone would vote for his politics of hate.

How is he homophobic? Im being serious so sarcasm can't be read into

How does that work? Last time I looked Reform were scoring higher than the Lib Dems and for potential votes and thd Conservatives were scoring higher than both of them.

Because the Lib Dem vote is way more efficient than the Reform vote. Reform are polling around 10-15% in lots of areas where the Lib Dems are polling much lower than that in some areas, but much higher in others. This means that they will win seats and Reform won't (except probably now in Clacton).

It's because we have first past the post, not proportional representation. If we did, Reform would win quite a few seats.
