Farage has announced that he'll be making an announcement...

... an 'emergency' announcement, no less.

Presumably to announce he's finally plucked up courage to put his money were his big mouth is and stand for Parliament, after bottling it!

Talking of vegetables - there was an article in The Guardian where they were talking to people in Gove's constituency and one fruit and veg stall holder who had voted for Brexit and was now living with the consequences.

Due to us not being in the single market it's costing him an extra £60 per pallet for stuff he brings in from Europe which has hit his profits - he's not a happy bunny! Smile

I suspect it will be Clacton if he is standing. He's failed in Thanet before.

Oh dear what a pity never mind 😂

I bet he thinks it was the wrong kind of Brexit.

If he's a veg stall holder, that would be a "wonky brexit".

Total fucking wipe out for the Tories - Conservative Party RIP . Bury it deep in a lead lined lined coffin. I hate Farage with a vengeance but will take pleasure as he burns down their house.

CormorantStrikesBack · 03/06/2024 14:17

I thought all candidates had to have been announced by the 28th May? Guess not if the press reckons he’s standing.

He's standing down from anything politics-related and retiring to the other side of the world? (Hopeful)

Anniegetyourgun · 03/06/2024 14:43

He's making a bigger production of this total non-thing than the actual Prime Minister made in calling the actual General Election.

MrsLeonFarrell · 03/06/2024 14:49

I wonder if he'll stand in Dover where the MP defected recently. The BBC created him and gave him a platform, I find it infuriating.

boys3 · 03/06/2024 14:57

Well as long as he’s not going to announce that Reform are no longer standing candidates in Tory held seats.

boys3 · 03/06/2024 14:58

Although I’d be very surprised if he did

Pipsquiggle · 03/06/2024 14:59

He's probably got a much better chance this time due to Tory discontent

There will be many Tory voters who will just stay home in the upcoming election or switch to twatface

RoobarbAndMustard · 03/06/2024 14:59

MrTiddlesTheCat · 03/06/2024 12:33

I hope he runs and gets beaten by someone dressed as a turnip.

Is Count Binface standing in the General Election? I'd love home to run against Farage.

RoobarbAndMustard · 03/06/2024 15:08

He's moving to Rwanda as it's so safe there.

Saschka · 03/06/2024 15:10

NotAllowed · 03/06/2024 12:31

I hope he runs and wins his seat.

He would hate that! He’d have to do some actual work if he was elected

I also have enjoyed Lalog's comment enormously 😆

bigoted morons

Why do people talk like this?
I cam only assume they think it's either clever or amusing (it's neither) or they think it will somehow persuade others to see the light (it won't)

I am honestly at a loss to understand the huge amount of posters who seem to think the best way to discuss things with people who don't agree with them is to call them names.

Citrusandginger · 03/06/2024 15:42

I was amused at the suggestion that he might run for the conservatives.

Whatever the announcement, he would secretly love to lead the Tories. I wonder if Rishi might just be persuaded to stay on long enough to stop him.

What, Farage? He won't be reading this. Why are you so concerned about his delicate feelings?

This is an excellent point - as much as I disapprove of most of Farage's views , the casual abuse of his supporters is only calculated to increase his popularity.

I am not. I am concerned about people holding different views being brushed aside as bigoted morons since you ask.
