Anyone think it’s a bit weird? Sunak said he would not be a war prime minister, but also said GE would be autumn-time, and yesterday Sky News said the Conservatives think everyone should have at least 3 days worth of food and water in their homes along with torches and batteries etc. Am I reading too much into this??

Edited

No you are not.. I'm worried that they know something that we don't

I still think that it might be a hung Parliament or closer than people think it might be
Never ever underestimate the conservatives
They are good at elections and it's a long way to go yet.

I never have any faith in the voting public with the memories of golfish (insult to goldfish), seemingly. They are also unable to look up voting records for MPs during their time in parliament, how stupid can you be?

Looks like Labour will be in. I’m dreading what they will do for women’s rights.

Seriously? You think the Tories have done any better?

GivePeaceAChance · 23/05/2024 22:25

GoldEagle · 23/05/2024 19:27

At least the Tories know what a woman is, Starmer doesn't, Lammy thinks men who have their cocks turned inside out grow a cervix, Creasey thinks women can have a penis and last but not least Anneliese Dodds is considering giving GPs the power to issue Gender Recognition Certificates, a perverts free for all. You would think the woman had never heard of safeguarding.

The Tories are protecting womens rights with all new buildings now requiring separate spaces for men, women, and then unisex.

The Tories are protecting the status of biological women in their own right unlike Labour

The Tories are protecting the right of single sex spaces, trans women cannot use wards in hospitals for example which are for women. New hospitals are proposed with more or all single rooms. The first has been built in Liverpool.

Labour believe all transwomen are women ie the same and that women can have penises, The Tories understand biological sex and that women cannot have penises, they understand transwomen can have penises.

The Tories are protecting the rights of married men and women if their partner decides to change their sex, Labour aren’t and have proposed at Scottish style quick conversion legally leaving many people in same sex marriages and no opportunity for a quick annulment / divorce prior to the change in marriage status. With Labour an interim certificate is issued giving time for married people to annul/ divorce.

Labour will not declare what spaces, if any, they will allow biological women and girls to use as safe spaces until they are in power.

Etc etc etc

Just wondering what century Starmer and Labour are in tbh.

Rwandan officials must kill themselves laughing every time the phone goes. UK Government has spent hundreds of millions... and sent one person, who wanted to go to Rwanda anyway.

They must be praying for a Tory GE win.

GivePeaceAChance · 23/05/2024 22:35

Dodgybarber · 23/05/2024 21:17

You do realise that this utter nonsense. Daily Fail scare tactics. The French government has repeatedly offered to build FOR FREE a refugee processing centre in France and will allow UK Border Control officials to man it. The UK refuses because the Conservatives/Brexit Party
want and need the small boat crisis and subsequent Rwanda dog whistle crap

You do realise Sunak has already agreed all this with France.
March last year.

Nothing new here from Labour, again, this is a Conservative policy.

just posted the headline, stuff in the papers at the time and as we all know since.

When did he say he would not be a ‘war primeminister’. Was it yesterdays speech, I didn’t hear it all.

Sunak has also changed his mind on a huge number of things, NI increases for Social Care, Net Zero, Nom Dom & tax rises.

Sunak also wasted 10s of billions on Covid support loans, continued with HS2 before cancelling it, another £36 billion gone.

A complete lie over 40 new hospitals, they've not built a single new one..... our local pre fab eye infirmary apparently counts as one of them....

Thats Sunaks economic competence.

There’s a new one in Liverpool, another 7/8 but I don’t know where they are.

Tendering for others has been going on for sometime, I know that as we’ve tendered 😊

...and yet they have failed to implement it. They've had long enough but Stop The Boats is easier for them to spell.

The deal was made last March, it’s being implemented. This isn’t new, this isn’t Labour

This is not a Labour policy, Labour are simply just carrying on with existing Conservative policies.
Except for their treatment of women and taxing education.

The Post office scandal is being corrected. Tomorrow the King will quash all the postmaster's sentences. It was agreed in a cross party vote this afternoon. One thing that can be put right, is being enacted, promptly.

Papyrophile · 23/05/2024 23:33

To be sure, it should never have happened in the first place.

Thank you but I'm not sure why you keep telling me it isn't a Labour policy, I never mentioned whose policy it was, just merely that it was something (else) the Tories have failed to deliver amongst all their other disastrous and other cruel policies. A return to Labour might be slow and painful to start but the clean up is huge, literally mountains of shit to wade through.

Really? that hospital was first announced in 2013, work due to be completed in 2017/18, then delayed.

So we are now including in with the 40 new hospitals "planned" by Bojo, hospitals planned long before his announcement?

One of the hospitals added to the 40 list is a Urgent Treatment Centre that is being reopened after the Tories shut it down a few years ago!!!

and people wonder why we've all lost faith in politics.

Good idea! I'm going to stay up, and gloat, I hope.

I bought champagne when Johnson was finally ousted but it didn't feel celebratory as we just moved onto Truss(!!!) then the current incumbent so I put it in the cupboard. It is going in the fridge as soon as the polls open on 4 July ready for what should be a very interesting night.

If there's something worth Champagne, it's this. Cross fingers, of course.
I suggest raising a glass every time one of them is voted out.........you should, hopefully, be very squiffy!

Here’s hoping you can down the lot at the exit polls at 10.05!

Be careful with that language. ‘Corrected’ and ‘put right’, are, imo, over-breezy and slightly tone deaf phrases to use when people’s lives have been ruined.

My comment related to the incorrect remark that the Conservatives turned down the policy.

They didn’t.
They signed up to it last March and have invested in its implementation.

We just hear about the Rwanda policy more as it’s more newsworthy.

GivePeaceAChance · 24/05/2024 17:32

Reform being interviewed on TV at the moment.
Their financial cuts and spendings have been called
’like Liz Truss on steroids’
