Why are they calling it now?

WingSlutz · 22/05/2024 16:55

I'd say Akshata has the removal van booked already 😁

Looks like Labour will be in. I’m dreading what they will do for women’s rights.

Please tell me exactly what the Tories have done?

Westfacing · 22/05/2024 16:56

Hopefullymovinghouse · 22/05/2024 16:55

Why are they calling it now?

Presumably because things will only get worse!

sp1ders · 22/05/2024 16:57

Tories, rest in pieces you bunch of scum sucking bottom feeders 🙏🏻

MushMonster · 22/05/2024 16:57

Finally! Thank goodness, I thought they could possibly start thinking of staying till last minute (shivers)
I am so happy. When I first read it I had to take a moment, rwad it again, then cheer!

Standingupstandingout · 22/05/2024 16:38

It's not like the Tories care about rights for woman, men or child.

Yeah the Tories don’t care about any rights. They want us out of the European Court of Human Rights.

Being it on at long last.

decionsdecisions62 · 22/05/2024 16:58

Thank god! I'm trying to run a nursing course and no one is making and decisions until they know about the election. In no other line of work can we just cancel all decisions for months apart from politicians. They seem to be able to!

sp1ders · 22/05/2024 16:58

I'm getting the fizzy wine, crisps and chocolate fingers in for that night.

And the Conservatives have behaved so perfectly there .........

And these last 13 years of tories things have been so good for women and girls right?

ChitChatKittyKat · 22/05/2024 16:58

I wonder if he's standing down as PM or Tory leader?

CoffeeAndPeanuts · 22/05/2024 16:59

HelplessSoul · 22/05/2024 16:26

Doesnt matter who wins - all politicians are cunts.

@HelplessSoul

oh come on! Just say what you think!

😂😂

WinchSparkle80 · 22/05/2024 16:59

there was some stockpiling for 3 day announcement /discussion of earlier by the deputy PM - my husband reckons some shit is going to go down and Rishi wants to get to his private island pronto- this is just musings and not fact in anyway

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 22/05/2024 16:59

Hopefullymovinghouse · 22/05/2024 16:55

Why are they calling it now?

Because inflation has dropped and interest rates aren’t going to drop further.

So they think the drop in inflation is going to give them an election bounce😂

CaveMum · 22/05/2024 16:59

Hopefullymovinghouse · 22/05/2024 16:55

Why are they calling it now?

They'll be hoping that the "good" news re the economy recently (better than expected growth, lower inflation, etc) will give them a bit of a bounce. The sitting party will always call the election when it suits them best, or their opponent the least.

sp1ders · 22/05/2024 16:59

We have to face the fact that nobody is ever going to do anything for women's rights 😭

Start fighting the new government after the election.

the80sweregreat · 22/05/2024 16:59

I still think that it might be a hung Parliament or closer than people think it might be
Never ever underestimate the conservatives
They are good at elections and it's a long way to go yet.

Justcats · 22/05/2024 17:00

Will he come out in his wellies and rain mac?

They’re toast.

Nat6999 · 22/05/2024 17:00

Ds said Green Party chat had gone through the roof this morning with rumours. It's about time, bring it on.

sp1ders · 22/05/2024 17:01

Inflation down? That's why I've just had beans and cheese for tea?!

EsmaCannonball · 22/05/2024 17:01

I'm quite surprised by this. They know they are going to lose so I was expecting they would hold off as long as possible. Are they hoping people who have just finished school or university will be off on holiday or travelling or that voters in general will be away from home or enjoying the sunshine and therefore won't vote? Can't quite get the reasoning behind it.

sp1ders · 22/05/2024 17:02

Are they going to wheel that stuffed tw@t Boris Johnson out?

spuddy4 · 22/05/2024 17:02

HelplessSoul · 22/05/2024 16:26

Completely agree. In a way I hope Labour get in so the rest of the country can experience the consequences of a Labour government like we have in Wales for over 20 years.
