.....Things can only get better 🤣

I said that when Tony Blair got elected. Things didn't get better

Oh they can. Look at him he is just so awkward and stiff. It's embarrassing to watch.

And watching Rishi getting soaked wasn't embarrassing? Well actually it was bloody funny and all he deserved.

lavenderlou · 22/05/2024 17:54

Keir isn't always the most animated speaker but I thought he made a good speech with the right tone.

decionsdecisions62 · 22/05/2024 17:54

@mydogisthebest I personally think they did compared to the position I'm now in and my children are now in following 14 years of Tory rule!

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 22/05/2024 17:55

It's not a valid point because the Tories have done nothing for women.

I didn't say they had! If anyone's missed the point it's you.

Justcats · 22/05/2024 17:52

It was raining, I'm not quite sure what was embarrassing about that? He still sounded and looked the part. Starmer is just a wet wibbler and that is when he's stood inside away from the rain with his quiff in place.

Look, they're 20 points ahead I'm unded no illusion that they will get in but then we'll have far more to fret about then than we've had for the last few years. The labour front bench a right bunch of hapless misfits.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 22/05/2024 17:46

😂😂😂

Eveeyone l know young or old is desperate for a Labour government.

No one will be voting Conservative that l know.

Dd is furious. She’ll be 18 9 days after the election and wants to vote.

DS1 is gutted, he's 4 days off and the only one in his politics A level class who won't be able to vote.
Though he wants the Tories to lose, he'd vote for our Tory MP because the thinks he's doing a decent job. I am annoyed as we're moving in August to a constituency that is likely to go Labour (lost to the Conservatives in the fall of the red wall but traditionally Labour). I was looking forward to finally backing a winner!

Agree, may be they should have done this indoors...

Spot the Tory voters…

4thJuly2024 · 22/05/2024 18:01

It's going to be a LOOOONNNGGGG few weeks!

Choux · 22/05/2024 18:02

Rishi can't hope to win unless something very very very unexpected happens in the next few weeks. But then I can't see him winning in 4-6 months either.

I think he is thinking of himself and his family - move out of Downing St in July and get back to his Santa Monica, California home where the kids can start school there in August.

flyingwingsabove · 22/05/2024 18:02

Delighted. No thought given to it being the Scottish school holidays though.

And the Tories are so competent aren’t they?

Cant wait for Angela Raynor to piss people like you off👌

yes

Yes!
Thanks

I hope everyone who plans to vote Tory realises that the Tories aren't conservatives now. All the smug banging on about Labour and you're voting for a party who conserves nothing, asset strips everything and actively wants certain people to die in the filth that fills our town and city centres.

Nothing to be proud of is it?

I am not going to vote Tory but I am not voting Labour either. I really don't think they will be any better and watching Starmer on Sunday Brunch showed what an utter twat he is.

I was always a Labour voter and was excited when Tony Blair got elected. I really thought things would get better but they didn't.

I'd say Akshata has the removal van booked already 😁

Out of this shithole and back to the palace!

4thJuly2024 · 22/05/2024 17:35

A lot of posters need to be careful what they wish for!

I assume it's only the very young hoping for a Labour win?

It's almost as if some people vote for the good of the country as a whole and not just themselves

Damnyourheadshoulderskneesandtoes · 22/05/2024 18:28

RemarkablyBrightCreature · 22/05/2024 17:39

@4thJuly2024 Im in my 50s I’m absolutely praying for a Labour government - teaching in the Blair years was a delight!

Yes I was going to say the same. Old enough to remember the world under Labour and it was so different, so positive! Education, education, education not austerity, austerity, austerity and mithering about there's no magic money tree and all that old shit. What a miserable bunch Tories are.

Janjk · 22/05/2024 18:32

War aside I thought Tony Blair was a good PM and the country was well run during his tenure. I don't have the same confidence in the future Labour government.

Neurodiversitydoctor · 22/05/2024 18:33

RagzRebooted · 22/05/2024 17:17

I was just saying to DS I need to book that Friday off! He's gutted it's going to be 4 days before his 18th.

I had already booked that week off- genius. Pity I won't see this Labour government in at ULU student's union- can't be helped....1997 was 33 years ago.....sob
