All he needed was a bird to shit on his shoulder or head to complete the picture

Martinii · 22/05/2024 17:45

I'm not voting tory, my local mp is a joke, but I won't be voting for Labour either. If they do get in, which is likely by the looks of things, I will happily see if they improve things over the next 4 or 5 years, they have to put their words into actions...

LumiB · 22/05/2024 17:45

Ihateboris · 22/05/2024 17:43

My sentiments exactly. Nothing will change

Yup all these omg it's like 1997 all over again forget that the labour this time isn't the Labour back then it won't be like 1997 again. 🙄maybe just say your looking forward to a change in government and seeing if another party can do better but to think this Labour is the sans as 1997 Labour is wrong

decionsdecisions62 · 22/05/2024 17:45

Keir is already looking more statesmanlike. It's done deal.

Oh god Starmer making a speech looking like a rabbit in the headlights with that weird Zippy from Rainbow voice.

With him and Ange running the show what can possibly go wrong 🤣

A lot of posters need to be careful what they wish for!

I assume it's only the very young hoping for a Labour win?

😂😂😂

Eveeyone l know young or old is desperate for a Labour government.

No one will be voting Conservative that l know.

Dd is furious. She’ll be 18 9 days after the election and wants to vote.

Very pleased to be thought of as very young rather than very middle-aged.

Last time I voted for Labour was 2001 but I'll be voting for them again this year.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 22/05/2024 17:46

I see the "terrified of Labour" posts have started already.

It's like Groundhog Election Bingo. So we will have six weeks of the same 'posters' that said it was Corbyn himself that was 'terrifying' last time.

NotmySundaybest · 22/05/2024 17:46

Forgive my naivety but what exactly will Labour improve?
I don't see how they are better?

Yeah you must be very naive to not understand.

Mate, have a read of some polls...

*Are you new here or something? Literally every politically themed thread descends into an arguement about this sooner or later.

I agree there's a select few posters who don't (or can't) focus on anything else. It doesn't matter if you're trying to discuss school fees, water quality, the post office scandal, brexit, farming, education or health the same few posters crop up and try to derail the thread time and time again.

I'm just surprised it only took 10 posts today, usually it's a few pages in before one of them is alerted.*

Nope not new, especially not to these threads. Just able to understand that women's rights and the ability to say what one is, is very important to a lot of women and they should be allowed to say so on political threads. As it's a political issue.

What you see as a derail others see it as a very valid point. That then trickles down to other important things which affect women. If they (Labour) can't get something as simple as that correct what hope is there for any other issue.
Doesn't mean that it's the ONLY thing they care about or can't focus on anything else. It's a discussion forum. Funny I just see the same posters on thread's about women rights shout other women down time and time again with whataboutery.

They cannot be possible worse than this lot. It’s just impossible.

decionsdecisions62 · 22/05/2024 17:48

Brexit
Unnecessary deaths from Covid
Lack of PPE
Holding of illegal parties while the commoners stayed indoors.
Degeneration of services
Council services depleted.
High cost of living
Unaffordable housing.
Degeneration of schools

The list goes on

MagnetCarHair · 22/05/2024 17:48

I can't imagine why people seem to think that those with disabilities will be in safer hands with Rachel Reeves. I can't see one piece of evidence that she has any regard for the vulnerable at all. At least a manifesto should give some indication beyond, 'we are not the party for those on benefits'.

lavenderlou · 22/05/2024 17:48

I see Keir decided to make his statement inside. Already making better decisions than Rishi.

How much evidence do you have from the current lot?

So, you don't need or expect it to get better under Labour?

It's not a valid point because the Tories have done nothing for women.

What an incredibly stereotypical assertion. I assume you think that all "boomers" vote tory and only young ideological fools vote Labour. I'm late sixties and I've always voted Labour. Judging by the posters on Gransnet (average age probably mid sixties) there's only a handful of Tory voters and the rest are very vociferously left wing.
