They've left college, now we are trying not to think about a certain date.

Please can I join too? DS2 is really calm, but I'm in a complete tizz waiting for the 16th.

marmiteloversunite · 22/07/2018 12:26

Hi Lily welcome. We are all in a bit of a tizz but don't worry lots of support in here. Is your DC hoping to go to uni? Or do they have a different plan?

ShanghaiDiva · 22/07/2018 12:31

Not nervous about results as ds already has his, just nervous about the year ahead - wibble - can't believe he is leaving home and moving 3000 miles away. Have already booked his flight home for December...

marmiteloversunite · 22/07/2018 12:40

Shanghai you have made me feel better. Hopefully mine is only going 90 mins up the road. Perhaps we need to be on standby in our various cities for DCs in trouble!

Lily125 · 22/07/2018 13:01

Thanks marmite. Yes, he is very much hoping to be off to uni.

marmiteloversunite · 22/07/2018 13:54

Lily can we ask which subjects he is taking and where he is hoping to go? If you don't want to tell us though feel free to ignore me!
My DD is hoping to go to Bristol to study music.

TheThirdOfHerName · 22/07/2018 14:10

DS1:
(Aspirational) plan A: History BA at Leicester University. Requires grades higher than he is likely to get.
(Realistic) plan B: History BA at Northampton University. Requires EEE.

chocolateworshipper · 22/07/2018 14:43

Welcome Lily

UrsulaPandress · 22/07/2018 14:54

Have we moved now?

marmiteloversunite · 22/07/2018 15:20

GrinGrinSeems so Ursula!
We can blame it on chocolate!

chocolateworshipper · 22/07/2018 16:29

Oi!

I'm offended - chocolate solves problems, it never causes them apart from my weight problem

PandaG · 22/07/2018 16:35

Hello, found you! Thanks again kitten for a new thread.

Lily125 · 22/07/2018 17:02

Pleased to be in touch with you all. DS is aiming to do a Maths/Stats type course and he's really hoping he'll get the grades for his first choice Warwick. I just want him to go somewhere that makes him happy. DS1 did Music so they're quite different to one another.

HardwickWhite · 22/07/2018 17:25

Oh my word. I just teared up at the thought of this thread.

Hello everyone. Gin

marmiteloversunite · 22/07/2018 19:10

Lily My two DDs are complete opposites too. Would be boring if they were the same.

Lily125 · 22/07/2018 19:28

marmite yes, would be dull if they were the same.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/07/2018 20:07

Well done Chocolate for finishing the old thread.

dd made a list of stuff to take. It's four pages long. Shock

It would be good if we could make a fairly definitive list building on gnomes and get mn to make a fancy page for it crediting gnomes dd for giving us such a splendid start. What do you reckon? It could be our legacy.
