It seems i'm the first. So this is me...

I'm 26 and have 3 girls aged 5, nearly 4 and nearly 1.

DH is in the navy and we are currently living on a married patch in redruth, cornwall. Though not for much longer. Due to the serious mining issues on the estate we are having to look for SSAFA (private rented in Redruth.

DH works on the Merlin's (helicopters) at culdrose and is an LAET.

Anybody else out there?

Hope its OK to join you all.
My Dh in the REME nad based at RAF Honnington in Norfolk, our quarter is in Thetford, near Bury St Edmunds. We have 1 DD aged 1 and DH left today for 6 weeks in Canada

saltire · 23/06/2007 20:35

All the people I know that have been at Honington have hated it. Is it that bad?

McDreamy · 23/06/2007 20:36

Hi Kirsty, welcome! How are you doing? The first night is always the worst eh? Still I always find that once they're gone you can begin counting the days until they are back. We'll keep you company

saltire · 23/06/2007 20:40

I'm in the very lucky position that DH hasn't been to any warzones in the past 18months. He has however been away a lot, and if he's somewhere - well for want of a better word, somewhere safe, I use it as an opportunity to chuck things out, eat toast in bed, and as much chocolate as I can stuff down my face!. Or alternatively, I spend every night on here

nell12 · 23/06/2007 21:11

meet up first week of August sounds lovely. Looking forward to meeting you all!

jocoxy · 23/06/2007 21:19

Hello All

My DH is in Engineers and went away to Sierra Leone in May. Missing him like mad but extra money will be worth it (When pay office start to give it to us!) Why is it that when hes here he gets on my nerves after a while and we argue then we he goes cant bear to be without him! Is that just me?

McDreamy · 23/06/2007 21:20

No no no, tis me too! How's it going? When is he due back?

kirstygem · 23/06/2007 21:21

Well DH certainly doesnt like it work wise at Honnington and the people all keep very much to themselves so not the socialable side of army life that we have had at otherplaces. I really mis all my family who in Scotland.
Saltire I know excactly what you mean about throwing stuff out, eating chocolate and beingon MNet a lot!! DH only went today and so farhave listed 30 items on Ebay while drinking bottle wine and eating whole box of celebrations!!

jocoxy · 23/06/2007 21:26

Hello McDreamy

Cool username by the way!! He cant come back for his leave until the end of Sept as all leave at the mo been cancelled as they are holding local elections and want everyone there if it all kicks off. He should of been back early August but a couple more weeks wont make much difference. All going well here in Kent. Moved to a quarter near my home town and Mum and Step down just down the road. Just bloody hate evenings for numerous reasons and weekends when everyone elses DH is around. Now Ive found this message board its really helped!!

McDreamy · 23/06/2007 21:27

Yup, I found evenings and weekends really hard. Glad you found us as I said to Kirsty we'll keep you company!
