It seems i'm the first. So this is me...

I'm 26 and have 3 girls aged 5, nearly 4 and nearly 1.

DH is in the navy and we are currently living on a married patch in redruth, cornwall. Though not for much longer. Due to the serious mining issues on the estate we are having to look for SSAFA (private rented in Redruth.

DH works on the Merlin's (helicopters) at culdrose and is an LAET.

Anybody else out there?

Hi all. DH in the Army. We're in scotland. DD 4 and DS 2 . Babe due in 5 weeks. Anyone else feeling guily about trailing kids around the globe?

luciemule · 15/06/2007 23:26

Hi - DH is in the army (reme) and we're currently living in Ilchester (he was based at RNAS Yeovilton) but we're now eagerly waiting to move to Suffolk in the summer but worried about the effect of moving again on DD(5) - she's understandably worried about leaving her friends.

We have DD -5 and DS 2.

Just 2 more years to go until we move into our own house and leave quarters and MHS for good (hooray). Although DH will still have to weekend commute as he's not leaving just yet!

it is so hard for kids moving about you can see why people chose the boarding option. i would never judge as i dread the day we get posted as d/d is very popular and happy at school .

different subject do you ever just want to rant at your husband and he is away on detachment and you think why didn't he do that before he left

bedecca · 16/06/2007 08:23

Hello all!

Another naval wife here.

We've been in Cornwall for nearly 3 years now, dh based at Culdrose. I've got one ds (3). Absolutely love it, but will be heading up to Plymouth in the January. We were in Somerset before, which I also loved, but then it's my home turf, so was easy with family near. Only one more Cornish summer to go . Hoping for a MQ in Plymstock, I think, but open to advice..... Bestest friends with Laura032004, who is currently internetless, but will be along to join the thread soon no doubt.

Trinityrhino · 16/06/2007 08:26

dh came out of the navy in January after 29 years so I don't belong here but was being nosey

McDreamy · 16/06/2007 10:38

All are welcome Trinity - you know how this whole forces wives thing works with that kind of experience I'm sure you can help us out when we're feeling glum and lonely

Trinityrhino · 16/06/2007 10:44

thanks mcdreamy

Marmite · 16/06/2007 10:50

BTW I've changed my name, just felt like a change (McDreamy xx)

TiggernPooh2 · 16/06/2007 14:09

Luciemule - where are you moving to in suffolk?

We are due a posting in Sept hopefully to Suffolk, but dh has just got his sergent's so could all change!!

I am worried about moving ds (20 mths) around. Fine at the mo but when he starts pre-school and school in a year or so. Any top tips??

Drusilla · 16/06/2007 14:49

Another army wife here. Have DS, just 2, and moving on Monday to Innsworth as DH is posted to GCHQ at Cheltenham. DH has just left to take DS to my parents for the weekend to leave me to clean in peace

TiggernPooh2 · 16/06/2007 14:54

Did he not want to stay and help you clean .

I hate moving, have only just found all the good places to take ds after 18 months and off to pastures new in a few months.

Drusilla · 16/06/2007 15:40

I hate moving too - although the new quarter is a grade 1 and v nice! Have only had tatty old rabbit hutches before! But otherwise I would ne quite content to stay put I offered to do the cleaning myself for purely selfish reasons - I get three days to myself with no DH, DS or dog, bliss And my friend is coming round later with wine to "help"

TiggernPooh2 · 16/06/2007 15:44

Sounds like a great plan. Will have to remember that one

euphoniumhumper · 16/06/2007 20:47

Just back from London, been at Tropping The Colour, feeling all proud DH kept being photographed by tourists LOL!

ktmoomoo · 16/06/2007 20:48

hi i near lincoln in lincolnshire

euphoniumhumper · 16/06/2007 21:00

I didn't know you were forces family, ktmoomoo! (littlelapin here, under a silly name)

HomeintheSun · 16/06/2007 21:18

Hi. DH, DS (6 months) and I moved to Cyprus in February 07, we came from Gloucester near Innsworth although DH was at Lyneham, Wiltshire, he doesn't miss the long drive everyday and we get to spend more time as a family so it's all good.

ambercat · 16/06/2007 21:26

Hi, RM wife here in taunton, not in mq anymore, moved out 3 years ago but i do miss it! ( never thought i'd say that!)

Drusilla · 16/06/2007 22:38

Are you mad, Ambercat?! Missing MQs?

luciemule · 16/06/2007 22:46

tigernpoo2 - we're off to Wattisham and are really looking forward to it. Haven't lived behind the wire for a couple of years so not really sure I'm looking forward to that again! Lovely area though - where are you being posted to in September?

TiggernPooh2 · 16/06/2007 22:55

Luciemule - I don't think thats far from where we are now. We are nr Royston, herts at the mo, but possibly going to Wimbish, suffolk or Woodbridge, suffolk.

Lived just north of Cambridge for 4 years previously and loved it. Its such lovely countryside round that area. Hope you will enjoy it.

luciemule · 16/06/2007 23:43

Yes - we were posted at Wattisham before we were married so know the area but lived in Bury St Edmunds. We're from Oundle, nr Peterborough so it's nice to be back nearer home!
Some of the married quarters for Wattisham were in Woodbridge until recently so we went there a few times to see friends. It's a lovey area.

TiggernPooh2 · 17/06/2007 07:58

Thats great for you to be near home. I hope our posting comes for either of those two places, fingeres crossed.

Marmite · 17/06/2007 13:49

Hi Homeinthesun - where are you? I'm at Akrotiri! I come from Lyneham so I know that area very well
