Indeed there seemed to be quite a number of compliments for the roulade.

Afternoon commrades. I regret that I will be unable to bake for the next two weeks (which will do my sanity a favour - getting rather despondant now ) due to hols. back on 28 July. Two weeks of glorious sun/rain with dh and children in Cornwall!

Have a great holiday, we go on holiday to Cornwall on the 28th, so I'll see you in three weeks

Oh, i don't know that. the truth is that I usually fall asleep when we hit the motorway, and don't wake up until we get there! So really, I wouldn't know anyway! We are going to St Ives. It's so lovely.

I think a pause is a good idea MrsFish. It is dd2's birthday tomorrow so I have birthday party phase1 to organise for tomorrow. then I have birthday party phase 2 (zoo trip) on friday, and then saturday is vsc/show day.

Maybe meet back at the beginning of the school holidays?

lovely i will limber up my yeast for a few week's time.

could try and make sourdough starter... and then sourdough bread.. its alot of fussing though.. but god do i ever miss a good hunk of really good sourdough bread... felling a little bit homesick for california now.

wonder if i could really be assed to make a starter.. or even find a recipe for one

daemara i am sourdough person, it is our main bread. it is much easier to start off than you might think, i have seen people sending for starter in the post! quite mad because your own local yeast will colonise it anyway.

fishie-- ohh have you got a recipe for it? not really made bread before... beyone the banna bread.. and courgette cake (zuchini bread) which really arent breads..
