Mumsnet Village Show - An Afternoon Tea Tray for One

So here we are again.

So far the rules are:

Tea tray for one

Can include anything you want suitable for a summer high tea (sandwiches, scones, cake, biscuits etc) with suitable cutlery and crockery and the like. (Silver service if you are terribly posh)

Five quid budget (on top of what you already have in your larder).

SlightlyMadScientist is the judge (heaven help us...is she properly qualified???)

Oh and all entries will be anonymous this time (A, B, C etc).

Time limit is 9pm next sunday so we can be judged before bed time.

The rules will obviously be bent or completely ignored but so long as its tea ish then anything goes.

I'm having another boy, 3D scan pics on my profile, had them done last week

Slubberdegullion · 03/07/2007 21:54

lol, I'm not sure this is the right forum for a best breast comp .

I'd love to see a piccie of your tap dancing feet....maybe photograph them next to your flat bread to give it some pazzazz.

I'm a Rainbows lady myself, maybe a sewing badges onto jumpers/tabards comp.

Oooh Mrs Fish, that's not very long. Do you need to be putting your feet up on a poeff (?sp) while here at meetings?

TigiCupCakes · 03/07/2007 21:55

Yes mrs Fish. Think about your veins!

MrsFish · 03/07/2007 21:56

My veins are fine thanks, they've recovered after that long day standing, after making those ladybirds from scratch

Slubberdegullion · 03/07/2007 21:57

My God Mrs Fish you're a bloody model too. What are you doing here at the WI? You need thick ankles, an ample bosom and a spreading arse to be committed to the cause.

TigiCupCakes · 03/07/2007 21:57

I'm taking the Beavers into the woods for a picnic this week! Of course it will be sunny by tomorrow!

MrsFish · 03/07/2007 21:57

I have all of those at the moment slubbers

TigiCupCakes · 03/07/2007 21:58

I haven't got fat ankles, cheeky mare - speak for yerself!

TigiCupCakes · 03/07/2007 21:59

Please madam chairwoman, can i ask what is a ' Slubberdegullion'? it has been bothering me for some time...

Slubberdegullion · 03/07/2007 22:01

, righto MrsFish (grrrrr at lovely profile pics).

Tigi, I did a picnic in the "Hundred Acre wood" with about a hundred Rainbows weekend before last. Obviously it pissed it down all day. They didn't seem to mind.

Slubberdegullion · 03/07/2007 22:04

Definition here.

How come I'm the chair? I'm only offering tea and trying to get a decision made.

OP posts:
TigiCupCakes · 03/07/2007 22:07

I just googled it to, and found A mean, dirty wretch.
Are you?
It's not a proper WI name. How about you consider changing it to-
'Primrose'
'mary-Ellen'
'Fannie'
'Myrtle'

Slubberdegullion · 03/07/2007 22:12

Hmmmmm well Mrytle is catchy.

OP posts:
TigiCupCakes · 03/07/2007 22:14

Well then ladies, we need to decide our 'comp of the week'
ideas plaese -

bread
homemade jam
flowers
baps
best childs lunchbox
cleanest silverware
most prefectly made bed
best pet
cleanest child
cress
sunflower
saucer garden

Slubberdegullion · 03/07/2007 22:15

No, I'm aiming for a researgence of 15th century insults.

"codshead loobies, woodcock slangams, ninny-hammer flycatchers, noddypeak simpletons, turdy gut"

Aren't they wonderful? MN would be a much more colourful place if some of those were flung about.

OP posts:
Slubberdegullion · 03/07/2007 22:17

lol cleanest child. I would be very very very lucky to win anything with that one.

OP posts:
Slubberdegullion · 03/07/2007 22:17

Bread & Baps then?

OP posts:
NinnyHammerFlycatcher · 03/07/2007 22:23

well, I'll enter, but it won't be up to much. I shall have to jazz the pic up! Are we having a new thread? Need rules etc. Where are they all tonight? Is there a Morris dancing evening going on else where?

Slubberdegullion · 03/07/2007 22:27

errr Ninny Hammer do we know you?

OP posts:
NinnyHammerFlycatcher · 03/07/2007 22:31

cooeee, (waves spotty hankie), 'it's me'

Slubberdegullion · 03/07/2007 22:32

ummmmm is the spotty hanky a clue.

I may have forgotten to take my MN clever pills tonight.

Do help a tired lady out will you dear.

OP posts:
NinnyHammerFlycatcher · 03/07/2007 22:34

[flashes baps emoticon]

NinnyHammerFlycatcher · 03/07/2007 22:36

i need to give you advance notice that i will be unavailable for meetings between 14 -28 July. Someone else will need to get the biscuits in and turn the water on.

Slubberdegullion · 03/07/2007 22:37

God this is too cryptic.

You are tigi or MrsFish (both on about their boobs earlier on).

Wearing a disguise whilst at a MNWI planning meeting is not good form dear.

OP posts:
NinnyHammerFlycatcher · 03/07/2007 22:40

it's me- waves a sponge cake in front of your face...
