I have trouyble with my nerves and can only eat certain colour foods on certain days. My husband is getting fed up of this but I can't help myself. I want to show him I can cook decent meals even while sticking to the proper colour for the day. So what can I give him that goes with sweetcorn and smash, as today is a yellow day?

Am I right in thinking you have no children at home pollychrome?
Children are naturally so good at orange, brown or yellow meals, less so at green.
If you do have children, how do they cope with school meals?

Oh my goodness the Amazon review says

"I do like the book but I find the way it is organised by color a bit confusing"

!!!

McDreamy thank you so much this book sounds wonderful. I hope she has a large green section. Do you think there are a lot of peopole like me then? I have not met anyone else who does this but maybe there are many of us out there?

I think this is going to become my favourite thread.

I have green days everyday. I don't like red days but I am doing Slimming World so am in a slightly different situation.

pollychrome · 13/03/2007 19:57

Hathor as I say green is a challenge for me. Luckily we all like green pasta so we dont go hungry but it can be a little repetative.

Zippitiptoes this is the first time he is coming so I am hoping to make it a nice evening. I have borrowed a jelly mould from a friend and am going to put different Fruits around the outside as well as decoration.

mrsjohnsim · 13/03/2007 19:58

what colour is a chinchilla?

pollychrome · 13/03/2007 19:59

Leddodgy I feel very sorry for you especially if you are on a diet as green pasta is not very slimming is it? I think I would put on a lot of weight especially on white days but the black days sort of cancel it out.

pollychrome · 13/03/2007 20:00

Hathor · 13/03/2007 20:04

Green day suggestions:

Green pasta, pesto, green salad
Green jelly with gooseberries
Alcopops for the grownups
Apple fruitshoots for the children

BizzyDint · 13/03/2007 20:05

i'm surprised you let yourself loose with the stilton tbh. it isn't fully blue is it? or do you accept foods that have the colour in the name..ie blue cheese? even if it's a bit creamy coloured, and the blue is a bit more like green really. i'm assuming it wasn't stilton with apricots or something silly like that. i guess you like your food one colour only, or it'll never get eaten will it?

pollychrome · 13/03/2007 20:05

I had better go in a minute but thankyou to the person who said omelette. I think my husband will be pleasantly surprised although I am not sure whether to put the smash on the side or whether to fry it in the omelette?

Yes BizzyDint (I think you may have got your name slightly mixed up havent you) if the name has a colour that can help, eg red cabbage is not really red and neither is red pesto but I can eat them both on red days.
