I've seen loads of posts today about Sinister being the scariest film ever.

Pffft. I watched Meghan is Missing this week, now traumatised.

And I can't ever erase The Green Inferno from my brain.

What are your worst?

Hostel. I hate horror films and DH said it wasn't "that bad".

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 13/04/2024 19:19

I couldn’t finish ‘Green Inferno’ - too horrific & upsetting. Ditto ‘I Spit on Your Grave’

’Wolf Creek’ is a fim I never want to see again.

’The Devils’ is shocking and utterly revolting, but I think it’s a good film.

BouleDeSuif · 13/04/2024 19:29

I love horror films, I watch one every night before bed to calm down.
However.
I Spit On Your Grave, I couldn't finish, because it was just so nasty.

Nameymcnameface1 · 13/04/2024 19:30

Banshee chapter. U can thank me later

augustusglupe · 13/04/2024 19:31

Don’t go to sleep with Valerie Harper.
Watched it 40 years ago, on my own. Never seen it since.

BouleDeSuif · 13/04/2024 19:34

Ooh @Nameymcnameface1 Banshee Chapter looks right up my street!

CheshGirl · 13/04/2024 19:35

Insidious

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 13/04/2024 19:35

Not a traditional horror but Mrs Doubtfire is terrifying when you watch it as an adult woman.

Let me know what you think when you've watched it please, I'd be interested as I don't think a lot of people have heard of it.

Tootytoot78 · 13/04/2024 19:37

Wolf Creek, stayed with me for ages, never re watched it.

ViciousCurrentBun · 13/04/2024 19:37

The Road, post apocalyptic but awful.

Have watched many horror films and none affected me except The Woman in Black.

Eden lake

ItsVeryHyacinthBucket · 13/04/2024 19:40

Wolf Creek. It’s permanent.

Weirdly because it’s so schlocky, The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Even now, if I randomly wake at 3am, I’m checking for demons all around on my way to the bathroom!

That film really hasn’t aged well has it!

hardyloveit · 13/04/2024 19:42

Ooo I love horrors!!

No one ever watch "a Serbian film"

All I did was read the plot in wiki and felt sick!! Someone had mentioned it and started showing me the beginning and as I'd never heard of it I googled it (just to see the synopsis) and realised very very quickly that film should never have been filmed let alone released!

The collector is the one I can't watch again tho! After having kids I got scared watching and that was the first horror! I checked the doors all the time for extra added locks after!

AceOfCups · 13/04/2024 19:43

Midsommar

at least an hour too long. I just wanted it to end.

seaweedhead · 13/04/2024 19:44

The Orphanage.

MickeyMouseEars · 13/04/2024 19:44

I love a good horror movie, but I didn't sleep for a week after watching Oculus.

I see Wolf Creek mentioned a couple of times, which I've seen but don't have any real recollection of it being particularly scary. Might have to watch it again.

As for Mrs Doubtfire, I hated it then and I still hate it now!

Springtime43 · 13/04/2024 19:45

I saw Halloween 2 when I was about 14, I had nightmares for years. The music that played when the killer stalked his victims was terrifying

WolfFoxHare · 13/04/2024 19:45

I saw Event Horizon at the cinema when I was in my 20s and for some reason found it absolutely terrifying. I’ve refused to watch it again so no idea if it would scare me now. I used to watch a lot of supernatural-type horror films as a teen and in my 20s (never liked things like Hostel or Saw) but that’s one that really stayed with me. Pet Sematery and IT also scared me when I saw them but I was probably too young to watch them really, in my early teens. Now I won’t watch anything at all like that, I don’t want the images in my head. I managed the first couple of season of American Horror Story but had to stop a couple of episodes into the Asylum series, and never went any further.

100% agree. Horrific concept!

I am always irrationally scared if I notice it's 3am and I'm up for a night wee! I always rush back under the duvet. Cant remember anything else, but that bit of the film stayed with me!

ShipshapeShore · 13/04/2024 19:49

The original Pet Semetary scared the living daylights out of me as a teen.

Don't laugh, but Sleepy Hollow scares me terribly too 😂 When the headless horseman comes galloping out of the woods...

Pantaloons99 · 13/04/2024 19:50

Human Centipede!

Second to that

Wolf Creek.

I wish I'd never seen them. The older I've got the less I can cope with this stuff.

Soubriquet · 13/04/2024 19:51

I spit on your grave.

it really left me….shocked. The rape scene is so visual
