Love watching films that scare me!

OP posts:
MephistophelesApprentice · 15/02/2019 14:36

The Ruins. I found it far too painfully plausible and now never want to visit South America.

BabloHoney · 15/02/2019 14:42

At4oclockthenormalworld yes that's the one! Bradley Cooper had a bit part in it, very creepy film!

Noopa · 15/02/2019 18:18

The woman in black.
The orphanage.
The Haunting of Hill house (on Netflix)

At4oclockthenormalworld · 15/02/2019 18:25

Oh god on the subject of Bradley Cooper in horrors DO NOT watch Midnight Meat Train unless you want to be traumatised for life Confused

thenightsky · 15/02/2019 19:33

Oh god yes... Midnight Meat Train!

Drogosnextwife · 15/02/2019 19:36

@Ribbonsonabox

That's exactly how I felt. It's worse because it is actually based on a try story which is so sad.

amrscot · 15/02/2019 20:25

Midnight Meat Train is horrendous Sad

Yuck lol

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 15/02/2019 20:28

I watched The Ring (Japanese version) when DS was tiny and never slept. This was when I was so tired I was actually hallucinating and not always sure if I was really asleep or awake.

Not a good idea.

Skade · 15/02/2019 20:31

Wolf Creek freaked me out completely and I couldn't sleep for days, have never been able to watch it again, and I'm normally okay with horror films!

At4oclockthenormalworld · 15/02/2019 20:36

Oh man I used to bloody love a good horror but now 9/10 I have to wiki the ending which although spoils the end a tad does mean I have some degree of control over what yuckinness I see. I can't decide if this is because horrors are just more "horrible " these days or because I'm a mum and can't bear to watch suffering any more. I think the last film I watched that wasn't self-censored if you like was Wolf Creek. That was The One that did me Confused

Drogosnextwife · 15/02/2019 20:46

I font watch a lot of scary films because they play on my mind for years. Keepers creepers stuck with me for a long time and played a big part in me quiting smoking. I have quite a creepy back garden and was terrified to go out in the dark for a quick puff 😂.

dontticklethetoad · 15/02/2019 20:52

Pan's Labyrinth
The Woman in Black (original). The scene with the woman in black standing on the water is my brain's go to image when I'm awake in the middle of the night Grin
Ringu
Let the right one in

thenightsky · 15/02/2019 21:28

Yes to Let the Right One In... although the book is far superior.

JenniferJareau · 15/02/2019 21:31

The Following. Amazing film but bloomin heck it stays with you. Highly recommend.

Fazackerley · 15/02/2019 21:32

The original let the right one in is superb

shivbo2014 · 15/02/2019 21:39

Eden Lake!

shivbo2014 · 15/02/2019 21:42

Also... You're Next

thenightsky · 15/02/2019 22:57

Eden Lake is terrifying... because I feel it could happen.

Phoebesgift · 15/02/2019 23:16

The Others
Silent Hill.

thenightsky · 15/02/2019 23:18

Phoebesgift Silent Hill is on horror channel tonight!

I've played the PlayStation Game on which its based, which is FAR more scary!

Josiebloggs · 15/02/2019 23:20

Event Horizon gave me nightmares for ages, will never watch it again.
Wolf Creek was nasty.

HelloDarlin · 15/02/2019 23:21

I hate scary movies... I’m a romcon person!
Saw an ad for a film, on the side of a bus, called “Hole In The Ground” or something. There’s just no way!

blue25 · 15/02/2019 23:26

Eden Lake is the most unsettling film I've ever seen. Closely followed by Wolf Creek.

echt · 16/02/2019 01:41

I found "Eden Lake" disappointing, though I'd re-view it to see if the first impression is true.

"Wolf Creek" was the first time I've come away from a film and said that's a film that hates women. Nasty and exploitative.

ilovepixie · 16/02/2019 01:52

I love horror films but the only one to ever scare the shit out of me was Cujo!
