Love watching films that scare me!

OP posts:
Cheetahssitonfajitas · 08/02/2019 09:54

Brimstone. Really freaked me out.

GMtoBe · 08/02/2019 09:59

Funny games (the 2007 version)
It follows
A tale of two sisters

At4oclockthenormalworld · 08/02/2019 10:06

Oooooh my people! Some fantastic films on here. Some new ones I'll seek out too.

Love Actually GrinGrin

Rec:Genesis is great if the undead are your thing. It's a Spanish film but easy to follow I guess zombies are zombies what ever your nationality!

Whylurkwhenicanjoinin · 15/02/2019 12:26

Eden Lake hasn't been mentioned I don't think.....just horrible as its too believable

sunshineandshowers21 · 15/02/2019 12:32

i’m not easily scared but i recently watched gerald’s game and that gave me nightmares.

At4oclockthenormalworld · 15/02/2019 12:37

Why I really wanted to watch this as I like the male and female leads. I also think films set in the English countryside feel more "real " especially horrors (28 Days for example IYSWIM? However based on what I'd heard I thought I was best to wiki the ending first and it sounds like one of the most awful endings ever BlushSo couldn't watch!

At4oclockthenormalworld · 15/02/2019 12:39

I watched The Autopsy of Jane Doe at the weekend based on this thread and it is still spooking me! Not at all what I expected.

The Cured on Netflix at the mo is also v v good.

Namechange8471 · 15/02/2019 12:41

A Serbian Film

Couldn't watch all of it

toomuchtoolittle · 15/02/2019 12:45

@Namechange8471 I don't think I could bring myself to watch that 🙈 the beginning with the baby is enough to put me off 🙈

BabloHoney · 15/02/2019 12:49

The Shining is still very creepy.

There’s an underrated indie horror from the early 2000s called My Little Eye. It may look a bit dated now but when it first came out around the height of Big Brother / reality tv, it really creeped me out.

At4oclockthenormalworld · 15/02/2019 13:06

Bablo is that when a group of strangers are living in a remote house as an experiment? I remember it, v creepy.

Another old one but good one is Amatyville Horror.

HenSolo · 15/02/2019 13:19

I remembered the ships log in Event Horizon a few weeks ago and genuinely couldn’t sleep for a week

thenightsky · 15/02/2019 13:41

Hostel has to be my worst one. I could really see something like that actually happening after all the stuff I've read about people trafficking.

Moominfan · 15/02/2019 13:44

Sunshineandshowers Gerald's game is so simple yet really scary. The entire premise of being that helpless. Thought the ending was abit rushed though

BlueMerchant · 15/02/2019 13:53

The Omen and I agree the old Amityville (esp the music)is terrifying.

Ellabella989 · 15/02/2019 13:58

Orphan
The Visit
Blair Witch (the newer one that was at the cinema a couple of years ago)
The Nun
Conjuring 1 (the 2nd one wasn’t as creepy)

staydazzling · 15/02/2019 13:59

creep is brilliant ,

toomuchtoolittle · 15/02/2019 14:01

When people say creep do they mean the one about the London Underground or the other one?

The Underground one terrified me 🙈🙈🙈🙈

OneStepMoreFun · 15/02/2019 14:02

Do films I tried to watch but couldn't because too scary count?
The Shining. Tried several times. Can't get beyond those corridors.

amrscot · 15/02/2019 14:07

The Babasook
Sinister
Insidious (first one, the ones thereafter I didn't think were brilliant)
Annabelle
The Conjuring (again, first one)

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 15/02/2019 14:11

Great suggestions.

GahWhatever · 15/02/2019 14:21

Things with children at risk terrify me.

The Babadouk (DH and I had to take breaks to make it)
The Woman in Black (new version) and Woman in Black 2 more so (the kids!)
A Quiet Place
The Orphanage
Birdbox was creepy rather than terrifying, but I'd recommend it..

I was disappointed with Hereditary and Get Out, having had high hopes. Both quite predictable, or may I didn't find the main characters empathetic.

GahWhatever · 15/02/2019 14:22

Also really Enjoyed 'The Haunting of Hill House' on Netflix this year, but it's a short series rather than a film.

WatchingTheWheels85 · 15/02/2019 14:28

Creep. I became convinced the monster person from it was up my attic Blush

Teddie1 · 15/02/2019 14:33

Hereditary will haunt me for life. So freaky! It follows is also one that will always stay with me - creepy stuff.
