Not sure Medoc, I think he's just after something new to watch. Period drama is more my thing than his though.

Recent films, the one about the Enigma machine, Stephen Hawkins, Mr Turner, Belle. Hitchcock was an English director but his best known films were made in America. Erm, Mr Bean..?

lucysmam · 29/01/2015 21:21

Grin Mr Bean's Holiday is a regular in this house!

I got a Hmm at The Italian Job, think he's thinking of the recent one -I had forgotten about the original so we'll watch that together I think

Snatch?
The Full Monty?

bialystockandbloom · 29/01/2015 21:23

Yes all the Ealing comedies. Also some early Hitchcock films were British (e.g. The Lady Vanishes, 39 Steps).

In the Dead of Night - weird 40s portmanteau of ghost stories, utterly brilliant.

Went the Day Well? WWII British film.

Trying to rack my brains for anything post-1950 Grin

All those films made for C4 in the 80s - My Beautiful Launderette, Ptang Yang Kipperbang etc.

Kes if you don't mind blabbing

Mike Leigh films, any of them.

bialystockandbloom · 29/01/2015 21:24

The James Bond films are supposedly British Hmm

lucysmam · 29/01/2015 21:26

A lot of these are actually sounding like they'd be more up my alley than his!

Where are you going to watch the film? Because Netflix has quite a few British films

AWhole, no idea, he's had the day off & spent it flicking through Netflix for something to watch. He started watching one this afternoon but it was utter drivel & turned it off.

He's gone off to find Snatch on dvd.

I'll be looking up a fair few of the others myself.
