Larry Crowne

V.cheesy but quite sweet

missymoomoomee · 23/08/2012 15:04

PS I love you - for crying

The Ugly Truth - for laughing

Law Abiding Citizen - for general awesomeness

300 - For a good old perv.

RocknRolla - for a great story line

Machine Gun Preacher - for a surprising film I didn't think I would enjoy but really did.

Yes there is a resounding Gerard Bulter theme going on there I know.

greenhill · 23/08/2012 15:05

For years I used to watch When Harry Met Sally when I ironed as it was the only one I could watch repeatedly and not bore of.

I rarely watch films now, but do like Denzel Washington films.

noisytoys · 23/08/2012 15:07

LeslieKnope · 23/08/2012 15:10

Seriously? Your favourite film of all time?

Larry Crowne?

P.S. I love you?

Kung Fu Panda 2?

Jesus Wept. That's a judgement by the way, not a film.

sugarice · 23/08/2012 15:11

I love Erin Brockovich, Chocolat, Devil Wears Prada,Elizabeth, Ladies in Lavender and any Bond movie.

AlmostAHipster · 23/08/2012 15:13

The Abyss!

Sci-Fi, aliens, action/adventure, romance, deep sea, comedy, disaster - it's a veritable genre-Fest Grin!

Oh and Ed Harris

treas · 23/08/2012 15:15

Truly Madly Deeply - for Alan Rickman!

missymoomoomee · 23/08/2012 15:15

I know Leslie, its almost like we all have our own opinions and have been asked for them.

lurkedtoolong · 23/08/2012 15:17

It's A Wonderful Life, Singing in the Rain, Armageddon for pure escapism, Bond films. Some of the women here need to look beyond the last decade...

JeezyPeeps · 23/08/2012 15:18

Lost in translation

The eternal sunshine of thd spotless mind

Invictus

Strictly ballroom

A knights tale

Moulin rouge

RobinSparkles · 23/08/2012 15:18

Who made you queen of taste Leslie?

CailinDana · 23/08/2012 15:18

Memento
Kalifornia
Schindler's List

All rather grim

LeslieKnope · 23/08/2012 15:19

Yes yes I'm afraid of being judged by someone who considers Gerard Butler films the best cinematic offerings of the last 10 years Hmm.

PureMorning · 23/08/2012 15:19

Oh oh oh and I forgot seven brides for seven brothers. but you can only watch it when you are ill!

missymoomoomee · 23/08/2012 15:19

Oooooh I forgot Breakfast at Tiffanys, I adore that film.

CailinDana · 23/08/2012 15:20

Oh and IMO films and music (and to an extent theatre, though more a niche thing) are things that bring out the MASSIVE snob in people. I deliberately refuse to answer the "what film/music do you like?" question in company because it just makes me hate people I used to like - not because I don't approve of their choices, but because they see fit to criticise mine.

JeezyPeeps · 23/08/2012 15:21

Ooh yes, just about anything with Audrey Hepburn is great!

tethersend · 23/08/2012 15:21

It's a toss up between The Wicker Man (the original) and A Room for Romeo Brass.

missymoomoomee · 23/08/2012 15:22

Clearly, Leslie, you are since you still haven't imparted your definition of the best film of all time on us.

Pickles77 · 23/08/2012 15:23

Dirty dancing sorry Smile

LeslieKnope · 23/08/2012 15:23

Didn't claim to be the Queen of taste.

Just pissed off that every time films come up on MN the overwhelming impression given is that women really are braindead idiots who don't want anything more challenging than a badly made generic rom-com starring talentless d-listers.

As someone who genuinely loves film, its a bit galling.

As you were.

And I'm not going to be chastised into sharing my favourite films with you missy. Chances are you won't have heard of them.
