What's the worst film you ever manage to live through?

Currently have Sweeney Todd on.

OK so i might not manage to actually live through it which makes me subject title a bit misleading but I've succeeded in keeping it on for over 19 mins purely because I've so far been shocked ridged that a film the cast it has can be so so very awful.

Not sure awful even does it justice

Have seen some dross in my time!

Mamma Mia - AWFUL! Another vote from me.

'As Good As it Gets' with Jack Nicholson is the only film I've ever walked out on, hated it!

'Castaway' is the worst one I think I have sat through, and only coz I wanted to find out if Tom Hanks got off the damn island! But OMG, Boooooooooooooooooriiiiiiinnnnngg!

'The Cell' with Jennifer Lopez, enough said!

fourunderfour · 09/01/2011 22:36

Ferris Bueller's Day Off or indeed anything at all by John Hughes

PocketMouse · 09/01/2011 22:36

Freddie Got Fingered... on a recommendation Confused

upahill · 09/01/2011 22:36

Oh another bad one was 'I'm not there' It is about 6 parts Bob Dylan life and Dylan is played by various characters who are all stong , goog actors such as Cate Blanchette, Heath Ledger Christian Bale and Richard Gere.

My friend fell asleep and I had to nudge him to make him stop snoring and I was just so bored with it.

upahill · 09/01/2011 22:37

Oh yes, forgot about 'Good as it gets'. Hated it!

Antihelicopterparents · 09/01/2011 22:40

Funnily enough we watched Moulin Rouge last night which is one of my favourite films but have to agree..... Nicole Kidman is truly awful. Hated her in Australia too, she seems very cold, showing no emotion and her eyes are empty like a sharks ! How she is an A list actress has always been beyond me !

Deciduousblonde · 09/01/2011 22:42

Another vote for all the Matrix movies. I tried so hard after the first one :(

The recent 'Alice In Wonderland' was disappointing. I fell asleep after the first hour..Johnny Depp couldn't keep me awake!

Totally agree with you on Thin Red Line, saw it at the cinema with DH. He loved it, I hated it for oh so many reasons. It was so, so long, it kept jumping around and didn't tell you where it was jumping too. I often wind up DH by reminding him how shit I thought it was as he thinks it is a cinematic masterpiece Grin

The other films I saw at the cinema that felt never ending were The Age of Innocence. It sounded promising, I like costume dramas, it had a good cast but was oh so dull and also Legends of the Fall. Brad Pitt was the only thing that kept my from falling asleep.
Oh and Incredible Hulk the first one with Eric Bana, that one I actually did fall asleep in Blush

Oh, mustn't forget Crash both of them - the car sex one and the wanky preachy Oscar winning one were absolute shite.

Mamma Mia - AWFUL! Another vote from me.

'As Good As it Gets' with Jack Nicholson

I agree about those. Also...

First Wives Club - nice idea, but completely crap in execution

Pink Panther (Steve Martin version)

Will add more when I think of them

Secretwishescometrue · 09/01/2011 22:50

Has anyone said The Break up? Omg such crap please tell me someone else did not laugh once the whole movie too?

upahill · 09/01/2011 22:56

Another one I barely managed to stay awake for was 'Scenes of a sexual nature' Again it had a great cast (Catherine Tate, Adrian Lister, Ewan McGregor) but so boring.

blueshoes · 09/01/2011 22:57

The Cook The Thief His Wife and Her Lover.

I almost nearly walked out of the theatre. The only film I felt so revolted by.

LongIslandIcedTea · 09/01/2011 23:05

Paranormal Activity - now that was dire. Spent most of it waiting to be scared

Syriana
Dirty Dancing
The legend of Bagger vance
Meet dave - Eddie murphy film about aliens living inside his head, says it all really. Turned it off after 10 minutes.

LongIslandIcedTea · 09/01/2011 23:07

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave im glad its not just me who didnt like Animals united despite all the hype!

Deciduousblonde · 09/01/2011 23:11

Thank goodness there's someone else who doesn't like Dirty Dancing! I have never seen the attraction in that movie.

Patrick Swayze has done so much better before!

NoWayNoHow · 09/01/2011 23:12

louii Totally with you on "Adrift" - DH spent whole time laughing, and then hours after crying at the 80mins of our life we'd lost...

DitaVonCheese · 09/01/2011 23:29

Jersey Girl. Not sure why we even went to see a Ben Affleck film but we ended up heckling (other patrons seemed to agree with the heckles Blush).

Oldsilver · 09/01/2011 23:30

AI, the only film I've seen empty a cinema - last half hour total cock. Eyes Wide whatever - Tom Cruise being Tom Cruise, why?

vintageteacups · 09/01/2011 23:37

American Beauty - WTF?

vintageteacups · 09/01/2011 23:37

Oh and that Devil one with Liz Hurley.

winnie01 · 09/01/2011 23:38

love and other dugs crap film

vintageteacups · 09/01/2011 23:38

Another vote for The Matrix 2.

Reservoir Dogs (left cinema during the ear-cutting-off-torture-to-music scene).

Pirates of the Carribbean - I hated it so much that I made dh drive back to the video shop to change the film when he 'surprised' me by renting Pirates of the Carribean 2 one night.

Alfie (with Jude Law). In fact, anything with Jude Law.

I realise OP asked for only the worst film, but I needed to get these off my chest.

ladysoandso · 09/01/2011 23:59

Hush with Gwynnie and Jessica Lange - it falls into the 'so bad it's good' category. The acting, story, directing is TERRIBLE and we howled with laughter all the through. (its NOT a comedy)

Another one who hated Mamma Mia. Not my sort of film but sat down with the family on christmas day, tin of quailty street and a bottle of wine, all ready to be swept along with the lovely cheesiness of it all but squirmed all the way through and got all moralistic and shouty by the end. :o

Gone with the Wind - just fucking leave the miserable, spiteful bitch.

Natural Born Killers - walked out.

Apollo 13 - TOTAL RIP OFF of The Right Stuff.

Age of Innocence was torture.

The Proposition - where do I start?
