Whoever advised him to do that interview when he was so drunk? He clearly has no minders. Almost felt sorry for him....but then didn't.

duskyspringfield · 29/04/2022 19:59

Yup he appears to be slurring a little. Poor constituents and family, they deserve better.

Is this the sleaziest most corrupt Tory government we’ve ever had?

HIGNFY & the News Quiz - they must be salivating. What a gift

Crikeyalmighty · 29/04/2022 20:03

I actually feel a bit sorry for his wife he's ruined his career and everyone now knows what his viewing habits are including her if she wasn't aware!!

Wait for the addictions and rehab excuse and get out of jail.

Any minute now.

theDudesmummy · 29/04/2022 20:15

@MrsTerryPratchett yes, that could be it! Hadn't thought of that. Maybe he will also come out as trans/a furry/ otherkin and therefore uncriticisable. Nothing would surprise me any more.

OhLordyWhatNow · 29/04/2022 20:20

I pity the wife. The shame and embarrassment she must be feeling now, for either being so naive and gullible she thought that statement would work, or the arrogance that she thinks other women are props in her husbands life and pornography is anything other than exploitation for mens foibles.

MrsTerryPratchett · 29/04/2022 20:29

@theDudesmummy nothing to stop him using all the excuses. A smorgasbord of excuses if you will.

EwwSprouts · 29/04/2022 20:30

Inexcusable arrogance. He was at work and in a public space. If he does not believe the business of government merits his full attention why are we paying him?

AssignedSlytherinAtBirth · 29/04/2022 20:32

DH has worked with Neil Parish at Defra. Says NP has worked hard and does a good job. What a shame that people who've never heard of NP will now only know him for this. MPs are in a position of huge privilege, IMO, they are paid by the taxpayer they need to be squeaky clean. What a pillock.

@Wheresmywoolyjumpers That's shocking that someone would be struck off for something legal and harmless like pornography.

Work device.
Both myself (school) and DH (solicitors) have to sign a document which states what we can/can't use work devices and work WIFI for, and the consequences of not following these.

Pornography, gambling, etc - whilst legal they are not permitted on our work devices and we can face disciplinary action, leading to eventual dismissal if we use work devices and/or wifi to access them. We are also not allowed to use our own devices, even if using our own mobile data, to access such things whilst in the work premises or in contracted work time. This is pretty normal for most people I know.

As you know, a work device is the concern of your employer, not your professional body, which is what I was saying; employer, understandable, but being struck off is a real step above that.

Never heard of the fucker until now even though apparently he has a huge majority. Imagine becoming famous for this. Mindboggling.

Honestly, all the stories that have come out of people who have witnessed men openly watching porn on the tube etc has made my blood run cold. Reminds me of the men who used to flash when I was a kid in the nineties. You don't hear of flashers these days. This must be the new form. His is the most extreme example as he did it where he could be exposed in front of the world. But this speaks to the Tories' hubris and arrogance

Aren't dick pics are the new flashing? No need to be out in the cold down the local park when you can be on your sofa with a burner phone.

You can't send dick pics on a burner phone. The whole idea of a burner phone is that it's very difficult to trace.

@greasyshoes
You seem to know a lot about the seedier side of life

OhLordyWhatNow · 29/04/2022 21:57

A quick Google search showed, yes, you can send pictures on a burner phone, and if you're determined enough I'm sure anything is possible for the perverse.

BenCooperisaGod · 29/04/2022 22:18

I first saw this years ago, when wifi was just a pup. Guy sitting in the window of All Bar One watching porn on his laptop. I banged on the window, he shrugged and moved the screen so it was not so easily seen.

Mandodari · 29/04/2022 22:23

It looks like his defence is he open a file in error. Course he did.

Of course he did Hmm

Weird how it's always porn that opens in error, and seemingly only happens to men.

He's quite feeble minded isn't he if he thinks that excuse has legs

MrsTerryPratchett · 29/04/2022 22:40

I don't know about you but I'm CONSTANTLY accidentally opening porn, and then watching it long enough for others to notice in meetings at work.

Hold on, no, no I'm not.

Twice. Once in the commons and once in a committee meeting? To misquote Wilde that seems like carelessness.
