Katie Price & victim blaming
AtlasNeverShrugged · 23/08/2021 20:11
Katie Price has been assaulted and has a "split eye".
However, the comments on Twitter are horrendous:

So many people calling her names, saying she probably deserved it because she's gobby etc.

She needs therapy like, yesterday. Not sure she ever got over Peter Andre and all the unresolved grief with that. Poor woman. I hope she finds peace and happiness and that this latest scumbag skulks off (hopefully via a police station). And that she keeps off of SM.

^Agree with all of this.

How in gods name people manage to blame the victim in such a situation is beyond me. The Mail article said a 32 year old man had been taken to the police station . Further down the piece it said her partners name then age 32 so sadly it sounds to be him. I’m no fan of KP but wish to goodness she could get some help. She and her kids deserve better.

It was pretty obvious to anyone whose twat radar was finely tuned that this guy was a twat and had the potential for this. It’s very sad she’s just generally in a self destruct mode…in all aspects of her life.
That may sound victim blaming and I guess it’s somewhere on the spectrum of that, but I think she’s just representative of how these things play out in our culture and how women are generally not taught to pick up on and act upon red flags for this sort of behaviour

I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Katie. I agree with others in that she needs counseling and has done for a few years. She bounces from bad boyfriend to bad boyfriend with no break in between. I don't think she's ever had a decent man sadly.

I think it’s a very fine line isn’t it? To point out that an individual is vulnerable and as such, an easy target to abusive individuals and that conversation tipping over into victim blaming saying “she needs to pick better men etc”.

Just awful.
I got lovebombing vibes from him when they started dating and it was all over social media.
Huge canvas paintings of her in his house, just bizarre.
It looks like her two youngest children were at his place with her that night. I hope they didn't see anything and I hope Katie's ok.
What I would love to see now is her press charges and stay away from him, I hope she does, she owes that much to herself.

I feel very very sorry for Katie and hope that she is OK. Her mum is terminally ill too so she must be having a really rough time. If it was the boyfriend (which putting 2 and 2 together it sounds like it is) I hope she finds the strength to leave him, what a bastard he is if he did that.
