Hi everyone, it seems we have reached 1000 posts on our original thread which is amazing, just shows how much support we have been able to give each other.

I thought we would benefit from part two!

Hi all,
I actually had an ok day today. My sinus and ear are feeling a bit better and I'm less dizzy now I'm not on that horrible antibiotic.
My sciatica is playing up today but I'm ok about it as I had an MRI that confirmed why I'm feeling pain.
I got in bed though and my mind started running away from me. I'm stressing because I had 2 lots of antibiotics and they will have wiped my stomach biome and if I catch covid, I will have a worse outcome due to a reduced immune system... 🙄
Ended up buying probiotics, sauerkraut and kimchi from Amazon after spending ages googling and fretting.

tmh88 · 27/01/2021 07:04

Hi everyone, today is the first day I have woken up and not even thought to check my lumps! It honestly didn’t even cross my mind, only did after I had been up for about an hour and I thought “have I really woken up and not even thought about my health” so I’m feeling quite proud of myself this morning! Blush

chorusline79 · 27/01/2021 07:28

@tmh88 that's great - sounds like progress!

My back of neck lump is my fixation of the week. I had a bad day yesterday poking it and then a friend text me to say she's been diagnosed with breast cancer last week 😭

Going to try and stay VERY busy today and need to start running again as I'm noticing lack of exercise is really impacting my moods.

MrsWhites · 27/01/2021 09:32

@Skyliner001 the cervix is the doughnut shaped feeling part. I went through a worry about mine and spent hours googling normal cervix’s....seen far more than I needed to 😂

@tmh88 that’s fantastic! Well done you, definitely progress to build on!

@chorusline79 so sorry to hear about your friend, it’s always a hard time for someone like us when we hear of something so close to us!

Amazing @tmh88 🥳🥳

amblonyxx · 27/01/2021 09:49

Average day for me today, kidney pain is still there even though I feel completely fine otherwise. I'm just so fixated on the pain that I can't focus on anything else and even though I feel better if I'm up and doing things, I would rather just hide in bed or on the couch because I'm so scared of the pain getting worse.

Have my GP appointment tomorrow, I'm hoping he can console me and hopefully put me back on my anxiety meds. Not being able to exercise is just compounding all of this.

amblonyxx · 27/01/2021 09:51

@chorusline79 so sorry to hear about your friend xxx

MakingASilkPurse · 27/01/2021 10:05

@tmh88 That's amazing, I would love to wake up like that but can't imagine ever doing so! Do you think it was the hypnotherapy or have you been doing other things like stopping yourself from checking things?

@chorusline79 I'm sorry to hear about your friend.

@amblonyxx Hopefully your GP visit will help tomorrow.

@Skyliner001 Hope you're having a better day today.

@ofwarren Our minds are like bullies sometimes aren't they?

ofwarren · 27/01/2021 10:10

@amblonyxx I totally understand that feeling of just wanting to stay in bed. The focus on the sensation you are feeling just takes over everything doesn't it. I feel like I can't function when it is really bad. Nothing takes your mind off it
I hope your doctor is helpful Flowers

MrsWhites · 27/01/2021 11:22

Does anyone else find getting dressed just a nightmare. You know when you put your bra on and you have to sort of scoop your boob with your hand into the cup? I always feel like I’ve felt something and then have to check!

Yep! Also mirrors!

Has anyone experienced anxiety around their Vagina? That's my latest obsession 😬😬😳

MrsWhites · 27/01/2021 13:13

@Skyliner001 mirrors for me too, I have to get dressed with my back to the mirror now.

I have definitely had obsessions with cervical cancers. I had a tiny bit of spotting after sex once a few days after my period ended and that started a massive spiral for me, it was about 4 months ago and I’m still not out of it fully. As I said last night that’s why I know about bartholin and nebothian cysts because I’ve definitely been where you are now!

OP posts:
chorusline79 · 27/01/2021 14:05

@Skyliner001 yes I can't really look in mirrors!

Yes - I had some bleeding after sex and freaked out. The doc said not to worry as I had a clear smear several months before but I now worry that they have changed the smear test and they only check if you have HPV. As it was, I think it was a little tear/injury as it hasn't happened since and did hurt a little at the time but I was beside myself when I saw the blood ( I have a Mirena coil so I don't bleed)

I had abnormal cells when I was younger so it is another thing that I find worrying. Good that @MrsWhites can reassure you a bit with the cyst thing.

How's everyone today? Hope you're all doing ok.
I have a sore neck from poking it, I cannot take my mind off it - so frustrating!

Thanks for the well wishes about my friend. I just hope they have caught it early, she will know more after biopsy.

chorusline79 · 27/01/2021 14:06

@amblonyxx sorry you're suffering and Hope appointment helpful tomorrow Thanks

Catsneezies · 27/01/2021 14:37

@ofwarren I was actually the same when I had the antibiotics for my sinusitis. Ended up buying a huge tub of kefir to try to get my microbiome back to where it was before!

chorusline79 · 27/01/2021 14:45

@ofwarren hope you're ok, and definitely a good idea on the probiotics - I swear by them.

Skyliner001 · 27/01/2021 16:13

We all seem to be having a bit of a challenging week! Sorry to hear that many of you are struggling, I'm doing okay now, and I've noticed a pattern that I tend to feel better late in the afternoon and in the evening. I don't really quite know why.

Still obsessing about my vagina, and the tiny little hard lump, and just the general feel of it. It doesn't feel completely symmetrical, but all the tissue feels fine and normal if that makes sense. Apart from that little tiny lump.

I've been reading loads of medical journals going right back to Victorian times… Don't ask!!

A lot of people seem to say that the vagina is not symmetrical, and that they are all massively variable. So I think I really have to bear that in mind.

I guess it's just not somewhere that i know a lot about, it's weird isn't it, but I don't really particularly feel familiar with mine, it's so daft, as it's another bit of the body, it just feels like a bit of a mystery! It's just as well that you are not used to seeing other peoples, and so you don't really appreciate how valuable they are! Google obviously shows some things, my Google searches are a bit😳😳😳

I did find an interesting set of pictures of cervixes, which seemed to be a kind of art project, and that was really interesting as it showed how different they all are. But they were all healthy.

MrsWhites · 27/01/2021 16:41

@Skyliner001 was it the beautiful cervix project? I have found that reassuring in the past, like you say, just the fact that they came in all shapes and sizes with some looking more textured than others but they were all normal, that helped me too!

OP posts:
Skyliner001 · 27/01/2021 17:54

Yes that's the one! It also shows they are not completely symmetrical, and some are slightly to the side, not much, but it reassures me!

tmh88 · 27/01/2021 19:12

Thank you all!

@MakingASilkPurse I would like to think so yes! I can’t remember the last time I woke up and didn’t feel dread Blush

@MrsWhites yes I’m shocking I don’t like looking in the mirror etc in case I find a mole or something end then start pondering how long it’s been there Blush

@Skyliner001 yes sometimes I do get vagina worries Grin it goes numb very occasionally and I have no clue why!

Skyliner001 · 27/01/2021 19:34

Had a good chat with partner and he agrees the lump is not something to run to the doctor with just yet. Will mention at routein smear. Feeling a little calmer, so going to get back on the wagon for a no poke day tomorrow 😊

Goolies · 27/01/2021 19:35

@Skyliner001 I’ve had huge vagina worries when I had stinging down there about a year ago. I’d examine myself a few times a day! I then thought I could see a lump in my vagina kind of right on left side. It stressed me soooi much I went to the gp shaking and she had a look and said it’s normal tissue. Of course the reassurance was short lived and I then went to a sexual health place and the guy said it’s normal. Still don’t know if it’s always been there or not as I’d never looked. It bothered me until I found the next thing to latch onto!

Skyliner001 · 27/01/2021 20:09

@Goolies This has made me feel better! But I'm sorry you suffered! 😱😬

It's so hard to know what's always been there. I honestly don't think I've examined for about 15 years, if ever! I've done the mirror check, but again not for about 7 years.

Madness. I'll latch on to something else next week! 🥺😳

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 27/01/2021 21:37

Evening everyone! Just about keeping a handle on things here. My birthday today - I am not aging with grace - I HATE it!! It makes me anxious!!

@MrsWhites I hate getting dressed too and washing my boobs & I'm breastfeeding so I'm getting them out all the time! In fact I hate my body! At the moment everything seems to set off my worrying!

MakingASilkPurse · 27/01/2021 22:02

Happy Birthday @onlyreadingneverposting8!

Many a time I've wished I'd never looked at something - it usually gives you something to worry about when you focus on whatever it is. Sometimes I wish my husband was a GP then it would be so easy to say is such and such anything to worry about, although he'd have probably divorced me by now!

@tmh88 Can I ask how you went about finding a hypnotherapist?
