This is a place where those of you who might need to talk to someone can post for gentle support, a listening ear and someone to keep you company when needed. Anyone who is finding it difficult to manage fears, anxieties or just the stress of virus/isolation in general and needs a few minutes away from your thoughts, come and get comfy here and we’ll chat about anything and everything. Anyone welcome as long as everyone keeps it positive, supportive and light. No arguing, no bunfights, no politics/controversy/dragging one another down.

I hope everyone is ok. I took 10 month old DD out for a walk this afternoon before picking up DS from school and saw the most beautiful sunbeams and lovely sheep. She adores animals and was so happy to see them!

paranoid56 · 17/03/2020 20:26

Tomorrow I find out if my son can return to live with me or not, to say I'm stressed is an understatement.
My friend is expecting her first lamb to be born tonight, that has to be cheery, nothing sweeter than a newborn lamb.

BamboozledandBefuddled · 17/03/2020 20:28

Sheep can be very soothing company (when they're not all over the road Grin ) Hope everyone has had managed to find at least a few minutes peace and happiness today Smile DH came home and found me trying to assemble a hundred and one scribbled notes into a shopping list. He took them all away Confused and sat me down with a drink while he cooked dinner. He has now magically sorted all my notes and read them out while I wrote the list. He has now sat me down again with coffee and another drink and told me to 'do something brainless like Mumsnet' Shock In spite of his very rude comment, I've decided he's quite nice and that I'll probably keep him Grin

Wishing you all a relaxing evening and a good night Wine

BamboozledandBefuddled · 17/03/2020 20:30

Sending you 'Good Luck' thoughts for tomorrow @paranoid56 Flowers

paranoid56 · 17/03/2020 21:01

Thank you I'm going to need it.

Featurewall · 17/03/2020 21:10

This is a lovely calming thread OP thank you. Currently doing a bit of work and prompted by this thread have turned on Classic FM. Trying to run every day at the moment too. Took 18 month DD out for a walk earlier, she was waving and smiling at everyone , made a few people smile.

Featurewall · 17/03/2020 21:10

Good luck paranoid

TheFaerieQueene · 17/03/2020 21:12

Here is Lily. She is nearly 10 years old but still thinks she is a pup and looks like a super model. I hope she makes you smile.

Managed to get a run in. Shower. Chuck DS2 in bath. Read to him. He's 10, but inspired by a thread on MN I started reading to him at bed time. It's become a lovely shared pleasure.
I shall potter and tidy listening to Archers omnibus.

Ninkanink · 18/03/2020 00:27

Reading to older children (even teenagers) before bed is a really lovely thing.

I’m off to bed everyone. Goodnight! Wishing you all a peaceful night.

This is lovely, may I join you and spread some peace and calm?
I've got a lovely (to me) retro car I've been trying to do up for months and am hoping selfishly that I can enjoy a bit of a tinker with it and learn her quirks without any extraneous activities.
Our dog, who is 12 and has heart failure, is delighted I am at home. I'll take a soppy photo of her furriness tomorrow.

Ninkanink · 18/03/2020 09:28

Of course you can join us - the more the merrier!

We’re about to have coffee and almond croissants...Someday I’ll have to get back to Low carbing, but today is not that day.

☕️ and 🥐 for all!

Oh and definitely don’t forget the soppy photo(s)!!

Currently watching 'The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganatnan'
A favourite comedian of mine, sarcastic, informative and absolutely hilarious. Had really cheered me up! The episode where he visits Zimbabwe is particularly funny - all available on I player! Highly recommend X

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 18/03/2020 10:07

I'm going to cut the grass and do a bit of weeding out the back this morning. I don't feel like doing the front, it feels too exposed. I'll send DH to do that, and ring my GP about upping my Lexapro dosage! Then this afternoon, I'm going to put on a nice old film and start crocheting a cherry blossom wreath, now that my paddy's day one is finished with for this year.

TheOrigBrave · 18/03/2020 10:19

Just plodding away with work here (a good distraction I admit).
Will peg some laundry out (I work from home - have done for 5 years, so nothing new for me).

BamboozledandBefuddled · 18/03/2020 11:02

Good morning Smile I have been on a supermarket crawl now that pub crawls are not allowed Grin I was very worried after some of the reports I'd seen about people but literally everyone was being kind and considerate and was only buying reasonable quantities. We now have essentials for 14 days and I appear to have Jaffa Cakes for a treat! I am now home, thoroughly scrubbed and clean, drinking coffee and trying to ignore the Jaffa's Grin

TheOrigBrave · 18/03/2020 11:17

Would you like me to look after the Jaffa Cakes Bamboo?

Ninkanink · 18/03/2020 11:35

Hi again everyone,

I’ve done some chores, made myself a cup of tea and now I’m watching this:

m.youtube.com/watch?v=86ZUfekmi2I

Later I’m going to sit down and write out a list of things I want to work towards this year - all those vague ideas of things I might someday like to do are going to become clear, measurable, achievable goals.

This is my very pretty notebook which I have had saved for just the right purpose, in which my plans will be made and my journal kept over the next few months. The lovely colours, and the simple sentiment of resilience, make me feel calm and happy.

That's very kind of you @TheOrigBrave Smile But as they've been in contact with me it's probably best that we stay in lockdown together now Grin

Ineedwine1 · 18/03/2020 14:29

I'm joining too if you don't mind. Just went outside for a walk up my road and back with DS who's 3. Was drizzling but was lovely to have some fresh air. We are now doing an activity magazine together. Keeping us both occupied

VioletCharlotte · 18/03/2020 21:44

Hello everyone, good to catch up on all the positive posts on this thread I've lit all my candles to make my lounge feel cosy and relaxing. Like many of us I'm now wfh for the foreseeable future so I'm going to start doing yoga every morning before I start.

Ninkanink · 18/03/2020 22:37

Hello!

I love candles too (being Danish ‘hygge’ is built into my DNA especially in winter) and most evenings I light my Urbania porcelain candle holders which I absolutely love.
