This is a place where those of you who might need to talk to someone can post for gentle support, a listening ear and someone to keep you company when needed. Anyone who is finding it difficult to manage fears, anxieties or just the stress of virus/isolation in general and needs a few minutes away from your thoughts, come and get comfy here and we’ll chat about anything and everything. Anyone welcome as long as everyone keeps it positive, supportive and light. No arguing, no bunfights, no politics/controversy/dragging one another down.

Yes we have tried everywhere. It's just not possible

Ninkanink · 04/04/2020 14:05

I’m sorry to hear that. Crossing my fingers that you get some asap.

Sooverthemill · 06/04/2020 09:58

Well I managed to get two small bottles of calpol. Usual cost would be £7 from Boots online. Got it from another online pharmacy:£18.90! People are making huge profits aren't they? Should be illegal but I cannot risk not having any. Still nine in local chemist or any major online retailer like boots

Ninkanink · 06/04/2020 10:11

Oh I’m glad you found some! But my goodness, what a ridiculous price. My daughter takes medication which essentially keeps her alive and I would probably pay whatever I could afford to, if I had to pay for it...I’m crossing my fingers that you will soon be able to get some through your usual provider.

It’s another glorious day here, absolutely wonderful sunlight coming in through the windows. 🌞🌞🌞

I’m virtual window shopping and wondering whether to go for 1 Dior lipstick or 4 Bobbi Brown lipstick minis...

OP posts:
Sooverthemill · 06/04/2020 12:19

Ooh Bobbi brown! Though I love Dior too ( in the olden days when I was a student I sold expensive make up in selfridges, harrods and the like, best job!).

I know what you mean about paying anything to keep your daughter alive. Us too. I'm praying she doesn't succumb to this as I fear as she is immobile she would be at high risk. Her asthma is bad today because some thoughtless person has a bonfire going. Anyway, it was her 21st birthday yesterday which I wasn't always sure we would see.

Ninkanink · 06/04/2020 12:28

Oh please give her my best wishes for her birthday! 🎈🎉🧁🎁🍾🎀💐

Look at the cookie disaster

A thread for calm - peace, happy thoughts, support.
Ninkanink · 06/04/2020 14:18

I’d consider that rather a cookie success, actually! 😋

I went for a limited edition BB lipstick, in the end - ‘Peach Passion’ 🍑 peach is my favourite colour for spring/summer! ❤️ And an eyeshadow palette, because I kind of, sort of needed one in a practical day-to-day size as most of mine are too big to fit into my handbag make up bag...not that I’m actually going anywhere these days where I might need to carry a handbag make up bag...

Plus I got a free mini ‘crushed lip colour’ lipstick in Babe, one of the colours I wanted! 👍👍

I am not a wearer of lipstick, but that looks fun. I wear tinted lipbalm.

I am feeling OK today.
I will get stuff done. I will focus. My son will be happily occupied. We will exercise.

Ninkanink · 07/04/2020 09:26

I’m not much of a wearer of lipstick either - much of the time I wear tinted lip balm, or just plain lip Balm! But I love a new lipstick, they make me so happy. 😊 So once in a while I buy one for my small collection.

💐 for you, @TheOrigBrave, it’s going to be a good day. I’ve forgotten (I have a terrible memory), how old is your DS?

OP posts:
Sooverthemill · 07/04/2020 09:32

I never wear lipstick! Well, about once a year. I hardly wear any make up, an aversion following selling it whilst plastered with the stuff. If I worked I would probably use Bobbi brown I think.

Today is sunny and I'm going to sit upstairs in the sitting room having coffee with DH later. He has accepted that he's working too hard ( he's NHS and coordinating his local coronavirus response as well as working with NHSE) and it's endless.

I did a yoga session today and it was fab. Keep well everyone

Ninkanink · 07/04/2020 09:35

Yes I wear very little these days, and even when I was working I kept it quite minimal. Bobbi Brown is my favourite brand. ❤️

Ninkanink · 07/04/2020 09:37

Oh enjoy your coffee later! Please, give Flowers and thanks to your DH.

He turned 11 during lockdown Ninkanink

He has a time table today - art, reading, some maths puzzles, create a HiiT session etc.

Ninkanink · 07/04/2020 10:35

Sounds great - A timetable is just like a list, it makes you feel good when you can tick off a task! ✅

Happy birthday to him! 🎈🎉🎂🎁

I actually did one better and we sat in the garden ( me with cardigan on) and it was a lovely 15 minutes in the sunshine with the dogs and away from it all. We are very lucky to have a garden. Here's a photo of Pingu enjoying the sun!

DH can be bloody annoying as he works far too many hours but he is desperately trying to sort out stuff. He was almost in tears earlier with frustration metaphorically kicking bums to get them moving.

Good morning all! 🌻 🌻 🌻

The sun is shining and birds are singing, and all is good in the world.

Wishing you all peace and calm today.

What a lovely picture.
It's going OK here.
DS is becoming more resourceful, which enables me to work.
I'm learning how to switch between work and Mum more easily.
We are enjoying our cycling in the sun.
I have 4 days off after today!

Sooverthemill · 11/04/2020 10:09

Had a few rubbish days as DD not at all well but today I'm hoping for a better day and some peaceful time in the garden with knitting and book. My flower lady dropped off Easter flowers yesterday for some reason she's only just been advised she can still do contactless deliveries and it made my day to see the lovely spring flowers. She grows them all in her tiny garden and delivers them around the village. Beautiful

Oh what beautiful flowers! I really miss our weekly bunch of flowers at the moment.

OP posts:
Sooverthemill · 14/04/2020 09:38

@Ninkanink many people are still doing deliveries. My local area has two people who grow their flowers and they can deliver or leave outside their door after prepayment. Also bloom and wild do letterbox flowers.

Today I git a small amount of joy from noticing my red painted toenails while doing yoga! Daft but happy. I hoPe everyone is well.

Photo of Nutmeg who has finally realised she is allowed in the kitchen and it's quite comfy!

Ninkanink · 15/04/2020 11:19

@Sooverthemill I got joy from my painted-red toenails yesterday!

I planned an outfit, complete with jewellery and coordinating sandals and hat, plus my favourite little summer bag that I hadn’t had a chance to use yet, specifically for our 30-min walk round the neighbourhood! 😄 My manicure set the whole look off quite nicely.

I might get some flowers this week if I can find someone who’s delivering.

Hello calm and peaceful people.
I like this thread.
I've had a couple of not so good days, but I think today is going to be a good one.

We are down to freezer lucky dip for meals, so I shall brave Aldi later.
DS2's hair is getting bigger and bigger! His dressing gown is indecently short as well.
