I've not looked out of the window yet. No going out today because my new oven is coming yey! I have many umbrellas though because we got umbrellas as favours from my cousins wedding (in case it rained on the walk to the reception from church. It didn't but we all took stupid photos and played sword fighting with them anyway...) so i have about 3 in my car boot now along with my ikea ones.

I've never had a new oven before so I'm actually really excited. I find baking destresses me so I can't wait to do it again. I've been ovenless for a week now but it was playing up for months.

I'm hoping we get good delivery guys though as my kitchen is on the second floor and DH can't carry an oven. It fucked both of us up getting the old one out and the new one is bigger. If they get it to the kitchen I can do it from there. I really don't have the extra £60 they wanted to "fit it" If they won't take it up I'm hoping my bil will come do it for me. He took my dishwasher up and he's only 2 mins down the road.

Carer do you have a carers centre in your area? I joined mine and I'm doing a course at the moment. It's really helped me understand how much I do and how I need to adjust to make space for my own stuff so I don't go insane.

Work is my main stress ATM. I need to work from part time from home as DH can't reliably do school run etc but the work is slooooow coming in. We were on benefits but dwp fucktards have nuked them so it's not an option ATM. Neither of us are strong enough to fight it right now. I'm hoping I can get some more work in though as it is helping me to be earning.

Morning grinchy I got umbrellas for our wedding too, didn't need them though. Sounds good about the oven, hope they get it upstairs ok.

There is a course run locally that I was given information on a few years ago but didn't go to in the end. Theres a local MH carers group, but I've felt too nervous to go. DH doesn't see me as his carer and I'm not compltely comfortable with the label either.

Understand the money stresses, DH quit his job as he couldn't cope. Psychiatrist wanted to sign him off sick, but we arn't entitled to any benefits as I earn too much I can't afford all our financial commitments on just my wage. So he is getting what cash inbhand work he can to try to make up the difference.

Oh goodness! I didn't notice this thread! Just going to copy paste what I wrote on the old one, before I catch up here :P

Woah you ladies are awake late :O I go to bed at 10 otherwise I can't cope with my tornado in the morning!

I used to self harm too, when I was younger. Also had anorexia for many years. Then I started binge eating instead as a "self harm swap". -.- I have ordered a book that might help, and it will come today!

I also have Bipolar disorder, OCD, Tourettes and anxiety. I always joke I should have a MH CV. I have tried to convince psychiatrist to put me on a waiting list for therapy, but they refuse to do it because a) I'm not suicidal and b) waiting list is 6 months +. Will fight about this some more next time I see them, have been waiting 3 months for some medication for anxiety, and still not got an appointment!

You have to tell us now Latex... ;)

Klaptout sounds like a very difficult time for you! Glad it seems better now.

Forgive me for not remembering names and happenings, I genuinely have no memory and would have to keep a note about it! Same with faces, though luckily I won't need to worry about that here :P I will try my best!

carer I also am on mirtazapine, and it's a billion times better than any SSRI! I have tried most SSRIs, but always had weird side effects from them + they have not got rid of depression. Have now been in a stable mood for a year on mirtazapine!

Today I look forward to getting a book about binge eating in the post :P Hoping it will be my magic solution to fix my eating habits and weight, once and for all! Not going out today, but we spent 1,5 hours at the playground + walking yesterday, so not feeling too bad about it. Planning to do some painting on cardboard too, which is always fun (for my tornado that is).

AnxiousCarer · 28/10/2016 12:48

Hi purple glad you found us. I'm normally in bed for 10 too, but not sleeping these last few nights Sad hopefully the mirtazapine will do the trick. Hope the book helps. Painting on cardboard does sound fun, can I join in?

Just helped DH fix his exhaust, soon to be heading out for our walk at last, yay. Feeling quite good at the moment, which makes me feel like a fraud for being off sick, though know the bad moments definately justify it.

BecauseIamaBear · 28/10/2016 13:05

Anxious....

You are no fraud for being off work with depression.... Please do not do yourself down by thinking that. I know from experience that people with a broken arm get lots of attention and sympathy.. yet us with MH problems are regarded very oddly. No one would bat an eyelid at work if someone went off work because their thyroid went berserk and needed serious treatment, but everyone seems to take a different approach if your hippocampus plays up and you fall off the rails.

No it is not fair and there is still a lot of prejudice. But we still love you

Report
PinkSquash · 28/10/2016 13:18

You are no fraud Carer, I've been off nearly 6/7 weeks and while I appear "normal" most of the time, the dark moments magnify things. You HAVE to look after yourself.

Here's a little reminder that we all get an extra hours sleep this weekend - well, apart from tornado-boy's Mummy of course!

Just watch for the munchies though...

Ah yes, definitely take mirtazapine in the evenings! :P I am asleep by an hour (also takes some other ones that makes you sleepy).

Wish I could set time back to 21! Grin

What are you ladies up to tonight? I'm playing computer games /read MN and listening to music :)

I'm missing my kids as they have gone to their dads Sad and thus distracting myself on mumsnet and probably crap telly.

And catching up on the weeks worth of washing in my shiny new washing machine which has just arrived to replace the dead one.

AnxiousCarer · 28/10/2016 20:17

Hi Guys,

Thank you, sounds like mirtazapine could be related to the olanzapine DH takes which makes him sleepy and hungry!

Had a lovely walk with DH. Boss sent a text saying shes impressed I stayed in work as long as I did and shes not surprised I'm off now. Fell asleep, which I may regret later, hope you got some sleep too salted

No way I'd go back to 21 had hideous depression. 32s been my best year so far.

Hi all, feeling really low and lonely tonight. Ended up spending half hour talking to some police on a cordon for company, they must have thought I was loopy.

Report
Wolfiefan · 28/10/2016 21:15

Pink they were probably glad of the company and someone lovely to talk to instead of arseholes that need arresting!!
Hello folks. Did piloxing. Made my day much nicer. Trying to get the kids to agree on a weekend destination (just for a day out!). Tough one!

Report
Purplebluebird · 28/10/2016 21:45

Sorry to hear you're feeling low Pink. I'm off to bed soon otherwise I'd stay and chat!

Wolfie what is "piloxing"? :P Sorry, I'm not English so don't know everything. We're going out to bonfire/fireworks night tomorrow! Will be scary and hopefully nice in equal measures!

Report
AnxiousCarer · 28/10/2016 21:47

pink you are not alone we are here

wolfie hope kids pick you somewhere good.

I'm just watching a film with DH at the moment, feeling tired so hoping I will sleep tonight.

Wolfiefan · 28/10/2016 21:50

Purple I'm English and hadn't a clue! It's Pilates and boxing and dancing combined apparently!
Anxious really hoping you sleep. I had a nice lunch after exercise class so I'm hoping I do too.
And I'm not completely daft. They're only getting a choice of two places. Castle or caves. Maybe a wander round the arboretum tomorrow. Sitting in makes me miserable.

Report
AnxiousCarer · 28/10/2016 22:08

Castle or Caves, hard choice wolfie

purple hope you enjoy the fireworks, and sleep well

Good evening, Wrist's Birches! Sorry to be so late to the party but I've actually been searching on line for a posh frock so DH & I can go out for dinner in a few weeks (that's not a common event!)
Found a few at > £250 but decided they were a bit too grown up. Tho at nearly 50 & around a size 20-22 I perhaps should be over that... so what elseput me off? Oh yes, the price!
Think I may need to look again.
(I don't go to many shops cos I get tired, overwhelmed & generally feel a freak cos nothing fits).
Who is still up this evening?

Pink & Purple I just wanted to say a colourful Hi to you two, too!
(Have to say that chatting to Police is quite a cool thing to do, not sure why but it is in my book)
And Latex, where are you tonight, lady?
Carer you are entitled to feel tired after the day you have had!
Grinchy & Bear I think you two make a nice pair too!
