If I die can I insist dh takes dc to see my parents?

I'm fairly sure I'm going to die. I suffer terribly anxiety and recently have come into contact with chicken pox to which I am not immune. I have a strong feeling it's going to kill me.
I'm an only child and my parents will be devastated. Dh does not get on with my parents and I likely to take the children and go ang live with his mother. Is there any way I can legally put anything into place to give them some access? Dh works full time so I'd like my parents to be able to do some of the childcare. Also my dc are close to my parents so I feel they would benefit from seeing them as ds in particular will be very upset. Dd is only a baby so won't really know either way.

It's really worrying me. Or do I just have to discuss it with dh and hope he will be reasonable?

Morning Gin. I was hoping you would come back on here with your wise words Smile

I'm ok ish - thanks Flowers

Still waiting on pox (day 19) I've had a cold since last Thursday so I'm worried that's the start of it. It seems a bit worse today. Nothing dreadful and if it wasn't for the pox exposure I'd think nothing of it.
Another two days of high anxiety - and that's the best case scenario!

Well you know what they say about colds: treat a cold it lasts 7 days - don't treat a cold and it lasts.....7 days!

So being in the thick of it since Thursday is normal for a cold. I think it's increasingly unlikely that it's chickenpox at this remove - but hopefully time will prove it. Flowers

Did you ask the paed/nicu yet about if it is safe for you to have the cpx vaccine? Your dd can have it when she is one as well. Although I dont share your worry about the 'worst case scenario' i would still be wanting to be vaccinated if i were not immune as an adult. There were plenty of places online when i googled that would vax bf mums

SweetElizaRose · 18/04/2016 11:57

The two I consulted wouldn't do it until dd was older because of the slim risk of her catching it from me after a live vaccine... It's a tiny chance but they still said no.

So we will all have to wait until she's one!

Just try some other places. Loads offer it.

Well I'm glad you're feeling well. How do you think you're coping with your DH being away? Are you getting any family help? Xx

BlackDoglet · 22/04/2016 08:16

Any sign of chicken pox?
Hopefully not and you're all feeling much better now.
Hope you've managed to get some help from your Dr too.
