Enpoid I raise you on your -10 eye with my right eye at -10.25! Left is -9.75 so crapola eyes here too. I really want eye surgery but you can't have it when pregnant or breastfeeding which has ruled me out for the last 4 and a bit years.

Mitchy1nge · 29/01/2015 22:45

she won't take any meds, not that she could have an antidepressant anyway but there are other things that people find helpful like quetiapine? but she won't - her psychiatrist is organising some actual therapy though so maybe that will be good? do not feel excessively optimistic

Mitchy1nge · 29/01/2015 22:47

you lot have shockingly bad eyesight

no wonder I can manage without my glasses when my prescription is so mild

Enpoid · 29/01/2015 22:51

Is that lenses or glasses, Ivy? The -10 eye is a -11 for glasses.

TBH at this kind of level it doesn't make a lot of difference Grin

I looked at eye surgery but our prescription is kind of borderline as to whether laser surgery or implanted lenses is the better option.

When did she crash Mitch? Poor #1 (and poor you) Sad

I don't know, she was never exactly euphoric even at her worst but now there is this air of defeat and she's far too quiet and looks exhausted. Which is how you are meant to feel when you work such ridiculous hours and study and have a child etc

At least she has something soft to sleep on and my electric blanket Envy

Enpoid · 29/01/2015 22:57

Also, some providers won't lase mentals, apparently.

Why can't she have antidepressants? There's not a total ban on bipolars having them, is there?

OP posts:
Ivytheterrible · 29/01/2015 23:35

Mitchy I'm supposedly bipolar and doing ok on a lowish dose of antidepressants. Mind you I'm still pretty low but they won't increase dose in case I go high. Am not convinced about safety of antipsychotics in pregnancy which I'd normally take.

That's my lens prescription Enpo.

Ivytheterrible · 29/01/2015 23:36

Why won't they laser mentals Enpo???

Enpoid · 30/01/2015 00:02

I've read studies that showed similar success rates for people with psych disorders as those who don't, but I heard some clinics won't treat people with depression - maybe they think they have worse outcomes or are more likely to be unsatisfied with a bad outcome?

You win on the myopia, Ivy Grin

she's just had a 'touch of mania' while taking antidepressants, who would prescribe them for her without lithium or whatever now?

I know lots of people with bipolar who are on antidepressants but not antidepressants alone and not after antidepressants have made them high

Mitchy1nge · 30/01/2015 08:05

thrill of blood test this morning

then rearrange other appointment for when house less densely populated, CAMHS this afternoon anyway

is probably all too stimulating for one day

Enpoid · 30/01/2015 09:08

Good show Mitch. Hope bloods go okay.

SnowyMouse · 30/01/2015 11:19

Good luck with the appointment, mitchy I've had bloods today too.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 30/01/2015 11:20

I'm waiting for bloods. Clearly it's blood day today.

Enpoid · 30/01/2015 11:29

I wish the suicidal thoughts would go away.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 30/01/2015 11:40

I now have two prescriptions for the anti depressants (one from Freud and one from my gp). Anyone want some citalopram or escacitalopram?

Enpoid · 30/01/2015 11:44

Hey Snowy. Sorry, I'm not so good with words, but I'm thinking of you today.

OP posts:
SnowyMouse · 30/01/2015 11:47

I've taken double citalopram this morning, caulk, thanks for the offer though.

Thanks enpo. I would contact cpn, but all she'd say is distract (listen to music/audiobooks, watch tv, do jigsaw).
