I don't have a proper job, I work for myself here and there but nothing much. Look at my profile on my blog and you will see!

keeping body and soul together and out of hospital is an achievement as far as I care

Mitchy1nge · 04/11/2014 18:17

late for running club, argh

EnpoTree · 04/11/2014 18:22

Running! Good idea; I'll (virtually) join you.

Do I have a chip on my shoulder about not having been to university? Grin Maybe

I'm home. Leftover curry for dinner tonight. Shame I ate all the poppadoms yesterday.

EnpoTree · 04/11/2014 19:32

They need to be eaten freshly fried

Found some naan breads in the freezer which filled the gap.

EnpoTree · 04/11/2014 19:35

My lungs have developed advanced sapience with the sole purpose of hating me.

It just struck me - with HTT person, new care coordinator, and psychiatrist bloke, I'm going to be seriously outnumbered. How in hell am I going to chisel out any kind of control of the direction of discussion?

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 04/11/2014 19:36

I'm picturing you channelling captain kirk, and yelling, "NAAAAAAN!!!!!!!"

OP posts:
Mentalpsychiatrist · 04/11/2014 19:36

Just make sure you get heard. I'm sure you won't sit there letting them discuss you as if you're not there.

EnpoTree · 04/11/2014 19:40

Ha.

No.

Probably not.

But I swear, if the psychiatrist calls me Enpo, I'm using his first name too.

I HATE that, the condescension and expectation that they're on a first name basis with me, from people. My bank, even! I don't get to be Ms Tree from my bank!

it's never too late enpo, education I mean, if you want it?

I didn't have a particularly smooth adolescence either and did everything a little later (with children in tow, possibly a great motivator - people to provide for, not that that stopped me having multiple mental breakdowns)

at least running club was fun, I really should go more often, am a social being by nature but I've been increasingly isolating myself over the past year or two and I don't know why but it's bad for me

EnpoTree · 04/11/2014 19:42

Oh no.

The exclamation marks are here.

I suspect there may be an instance of multiple plingage upthread. I daren't scroll back and look. That's it. The end is nigh.

All of my patients are on first name terms with me. It breaks down barriers somehow.

Mitchy1nge · 04/11/2014 19:42

(love the way I just wade in and broadcast something a propos of nothing)

Mentalpsychiatrist · 04/11/2014 19:43

Well I for one am glad you enjoyed running club. While you were out I succeeded on stuffing my face.

EnpoTree · 04/11/2014 19:45

Hmmm. Probably left it a bit long, I think Grin Can't bear to start again and pay for it all this time. Over 25, you have to pay just for the a levels or access course. And I think ive tried and failed to do a levels twice. Or is it three times?

What on earth does one do at a running club?

OP posts:
Mentalpsychiatrist · 04/11/2014 19:46

I assume one runs.

Mitchy1nge · 04/11/2014 19:46

it depends who they are, my first one (was stuck with him for years) was Fat Hassan (to his face the fat was silent but almost deadly until he shed some after a heart attack) but dr surname behind his back, the home treatment one was dr-call-me-cathy (LOVE her), the WELL HOT one was dr surname (loved him more than anything) and then there are just random ones, I forget, one with a shiny head who said I 'read too much' and that was my trouble Hmm

EnpoTree · 04/11/2014 19:47

Please, broadcast lots!

First names is fine, with permission, and as long as it's bilateral.

Mitchy1nge · 04/11/2014 19:49

am going to stuff my face soon with a spinach omelette

which is like bingeing on a rice cake

yeah running club is nice, it's something different every week - tonight was 1 mile repeats. I don't go often enough, I just do my own thing but would like to be more involved. we have a RACE on Sunday :)

EnpoTree · 04/11/2014 19:53

See, people don't get to break down my barriers without permission. That's a violation. So "Hi, Ms Tree, I'm Mental, the psychiatrist. Would you mind if I called you Enpo?" is okay. "Hi, Enpo. I'm Dr psychiatrist", or worse, no self-introduction, would piss me off.

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 04/11/2014 19:54

I don't see why people see it as standoffish or up yourself or uptight or standing on your dignity to want to be treated with the traditional signifiers of respect in British society.

OP posts:
Mentalpsychiatrist · 04/11/2014 19:55

No introduction is the height of rudeness. Being called Dr MP makes me feel like my mum.
