Hope this is Post No. 1001 equivalent, having just used up the thousandth space and feel I shouldn't ask Madmouse to organise the next one again.

Have just looked into summerhouse to check fire is burning gently, tray of [brew} organised by upward to turn into one's favourite hot drink of the moment is standing ready for visitors, along with a few pounds of chocolates from huge box sent by DSis. (Before DB eats any more today)

It's usually tianc, upward and hob who remember to be hospitable and also remember to send good wishes to previous visitors, including said madmouse and mouselet, kizzie and family, NanaNina, Butterpie and another name which eludes me just now, but am hoping you'll find your way to this new part of the Cybergarden
and continue visiting in the New Year, along with hob's time-travelling cat Her Felinity and her welcome associate ndt (next-door's-tom), who visit us quite often, bringing gifts of Thanks when they remember, instead of the usual dead rodents which they know are unwelcome in the cybergarden.

Have just had lovely large lunch, plus Skype visit from rest of relatives, so will have a little potter round RL garden, hoping all is well and welcoming now in cybergarden's summerhouse.

Brilliant idea to light torches at entrance upward!
I had to come along to investigate new glow in the area, and sure hob will be along just as soon as possible.
A candle for those needing help is something else I wish I'd thought of, Nilgiri, although I'm probably one of those. Most friends my age are worrying about their chloresterol levels - I've never even had a test as "they tend not to do that test here"(Nurse at Surgery when I enquired at annual check-up).

Good idea to have jigsaw going upward, and wish I'd thought of that too, while DB was here and not interested in doing anything, in fact I do have a couple of new ones tucked away from pre-laptop days.
Something else I've just remembered - I still have a Painting By Numbers kit which I bought in a sale and thought of sending you while in hospital upward - can you use it, I wonder? Could send it somewhere local to keep your address secret, if you like.

Oh what very good news, hob!

Heh, puzzle sounds good for ages, Upward. Family may have to prise you away tomorrow...

Bedtime here, but thanks to lovely Nilgiri for making sure we're all comfortable in summerhouse.

All best wishes to hob for continued recovery of MiL, and to upward for relaxing and restorative sleep.

OP posts:
Nilgiri · 29/12/2011 00:17

That's a bit disappointing about chloresterol test, shodatin. I believe you can get tests at Boots, but don't know how reliable they are (or what you'd do with the results!).

Bedtime here too.

Hope we all get good rest and wake tomorrow with symptoms starting to ease.

cityhobgoblin · 29/12/2011 00:28

Aghast at practice nurse , shodatin- good point Nilgiri about tests at chemist / what happens after - am sure pharmacist will advise

Peaceful nighrt to all , with especially strong hopes for restorative sleep for
everyone , after very demanding week for some of you - really hope tablets help you wake less , upward

< they hope Bednobs and Broomsticks on the TV doesn't wake anyone >

Upwardandonward · 29/12/2011 08:25

Brew Brew Brew Brew

Upwardandonward · 29/12/2011 10:39

Excellent, plan is to get through til next week.

shodatin · 29/12/2011 11:43

A belated good morning from me - neither alarm clock woke me this morning, so should probably invest in a new one. Hope everyone else had a good sleep, and many thanks upward for the welcome Brew (pause for a slurp).

You managed the Christmas holiday well upward, so am sure you'll be ok for the New Year break (cybergarden stays open of course, although who knows who'll visit).
Are you doing a countdown - day-at-a-time - again upward? Hope you've got jigsaw ready & waiting, and that all goes well with both visitors (if CMHT visits).

Thanks to hob and Nilgiri for info re: Boots doing chloresterol tests. Will enquire next time I'm there, but am surprised these are not advertised if it's true that the local surgery don't do them. If mine were high, guess I'd tweak diet and ask GP for advice, but it's probably ok.
This is a retirement area, so lots of oldies at surgery and maybe that's the reason (or just me missing out again).

Been looking forward to a couple of old friends visiting next Thursday, but they turned up today - one of us got the wrong date...Such a shame I'd no food in, washing-machine going and too surprised to think properly! Hope everyone else had a good day, without feeling like utter idiot.
Just making a strong coffee while I check over alarm clocks (don't want to be late up again tomorrow) so will put out a few extras Brew and remains of Biscuits.

Nilgiri · 29/12/2011 23:10

Brew! Thank you!

Oops! re visitors, shodatin. Still at least you were up. I've opened the door, bleary and pyjama-ed, to more workmen than I can remember.Xmas Blush One just took a key in the end and would call up the stairs at lunchtime to ask if there was anything I wanted...

Hope Upward's having a good visit from family - and getting enough rest in between to slowly replenish her spoon drawer...

Oh oh, Bedknobs and Broomsticks! Haven't seen that since, well, since beds had big brass knobs on! Top slumpy viewing! Hope news from MIL still OK, hob, and you and DH are getting some more dormouse time today, although I can imagine DH is back to work very soon, or maybe already.

shodatin · 29/12/2011 23:11

Running out of spoons, and guess others are too, so saying "goodnight" now, sleep well.

OP posts:
Upwardandonward · 29/12/2011 23:15

Good night, sleep well all.

Nilgiri · 30/12/2011 01:25

Sleep well all.

shodatin · 30/12/2011 09:28

Big thanks to Nilgiri for doing all the necessary chores at summerhouse, and much appreciated. (My final spoon just slips out of grasp without warning sometimes).
Just made espresso to aid wake-up, but ensured enough Brews are the magic kind for visitors, and found a brand-new pack of marshmallows on the side here, ditto as still not eating them myself.

Hope everyone had a decent sleep and has something to look forward to at some time today (am looking forward to driving home again after requesting prescription which one of the pharmacists likes to appropriate/mislay - try not to do this at full-moon (!) usually but the holiday got in the way this time.

Thanks to Nilgiri for mentioning own problems with people turning up - am feeling better about mine.

Hope things are improved with hobs MiL or at least less worrying at present, and that upwards in a good place.

cityhobgoblin · 30/12/2011 12:20

LovelyBrewwith marshmallows , shodatin . Argh at your unexpected visitors - am sure they enjoyed your company anyway . Xmas Grin at Nilgiri's helpful workman - did you ever demand chocolate ? -

Thinking of you , upward , and glad to see you even managed to wave goodnight - you must be exhausted today Sad . Trying toget through till next week makes a lot of sense .

So sorry for unsociable dormouse mode < glitters > ... no word really on MIL atm Shock as hospital has closed to most visitors due to norovirus in the community - would be good if stops it spreading on wards .
Poor MIL too spaced out to want her mobile phone switched on , and FIL doesn't really know whether her memory has improved yet (concussion)- hopefully has asked ward on phone by now.
Am glad she has been in a single room for first days , and pray the bug keeps away . Her window has a spectacular view , just what's needed for a person lacking concentration for TV etc

Hope your lunarly - susceptible pharmacist has kept your prescription safe ,shodatin, and that you yourself plan lots of rest and a few little treats for the next few days

< admires shiny spoons greedily >

shodatin · 30/12/2011 13:39

Thanks for news of MiL hob,and hope you have more good news soon - agree good view is important.

Have indeed made a few happy plans for weekend, but not yet decided on this year's present to self (friend suggested this on first year of bereavement!) which is something for the future, possibly ebay or sales.

Forgot to thank Nilgiri for shiny spoons, and what a lovely idea.

OP posts:
Upwardandonward · 30/12/2011 14:28

Brew Brew Brew Brew Brew

Present to self sounds a nice idea. Good luck with the prescription.

I hope MiL keeps on keeping on, hob, and doesn't get any nasties.

shodatin · 30/12/2011 15:01

Thanks for good wishes upward, but been wondering how you're doing, particularly since one of the HCP's planned to get in touch, as well as your relative to visit, so hope all's well for you and that you can enjoy visitor without spending too many spoons.

OP posts:
Upwardandonward · 30/12/2011 15:31

Family has left. A new/different CMHT person rang to ask how I was/whether I wanted to see a doctor. I feel it is very wrong to talk about it.

Nilgiri · 30/12/2011 15:48

Well you've made it through to Friday already. Is the consultant is back for Tuesday next week?

Nilgiri · 30/12/2011 16:15

How's the puzzle going, btw?

Those puzzle rolls I think shodatin mentioned ages ago, sound marvellous - I wonder if you managed to keep it intact while visitors were there.

shodatin · 30/12/2011 16:37

I think it was hob who told me about the puzzle rolls, Nilgiri, because I have a shortage of table space so not doing jigsaws at present.
As Nilgiri mentioned, upward, you've made it through to the end of the week already, so am sure you'll be OK.
I didn't mean to be nosey about your health, and can quite understand if you don't want to talk about it ,but I don't feel it's wrong if you do want to talk - getting a bit muddled here so will add some emoticons SmileBiscuit and our old friend Brew

OP posts:
Upwardandonward · 30/12/2011 17:25

It isn't that long to wait at all, going to have a good think about whether I should see consultant nextweek. I am definitelyok. It's saying things outloud when there's a someone there that is hard.

Nilgiri · 30/12/2011 20:53

Ah, yes, saying things out loud can be reyther challenging...

Has anyone tried writing it down and handing the doc a piece of paper when you go in? I saw it discussed ages ago on another thread, and some people found it very useful - including a couple of docs who said it was actually really common.

Ooh, broo! Thank you, shodatin.
