Well I am depressed, moderately to severely. I have to say the GP was great. I burst into tears and told him the whole story. He's given me 2 weeks worth of sleeping tablets(zopiclone) and AD Sertraline. I don't know much about Sertraline but he did listen to my concerns over some of the other ADs that I didn't want. I am a bit nervous of being on sleeping meds but he said that I need to sleep so that I can feel a bit more positive. He also thinks my sleep cycle might re-start itself if I take the meds for a bit.

Would you believe he even recommended Mumsnet! Said it was really important to talk to other people who have had insomnia and depression.

I'm feeling really good and positive now! But i'm trying resist the urge to google my meds, don't want to scare myself!

Thank you for all your support, I can't believe how much better I feel after talking to all of you.

madmouse · 18/02/2011 20:33

I think you may be advised by some others here talking from experience not to take the zopiclone for two weeks straight. But definitely take one tonight!

Holly66 · 18/02/2011 22:20

I agree with you madmouse and everyone else I wont take them for 2 weeks straight. I'm going to have one tonight and then see how I go. DH to be will be keeping an eye on the tablets!

PSTs to everyone!

I will sleep tonight! Grin

BeckyBendyLegs · 19/02/2011 06:58

I hope everyone has slept well xxx we're off on our London trip now. Please, please, please no sickness bug for anyone else while we're away! I'm excited.

Hope you have fun Becky

I did sleep, ok maybe it was due to the drugs but at least i've slept.

I only took 3.75mg, the GP had told me to take 7.5 but DH to be and I decided to see how I got on and I was fine. I was so excited about going to bed because I knew i'd sleep ok. DH to be says I now have to feel like that every time I go to bed whether i've had a pill or not. I did wake up a few times but had no anxious thoughts and just drifted off again.

I do feel a bit groggy this morning but have got up early with DS. DH to be says I still have a big sleep debt so tonight I must go to bed a bit earlier and he'll get up with DS in the morning. We stayed up late (or late for us) talking about things which made me feel a lot better before bed.

I have to say I am now dreading taking the first AD tablet but I must get it over with. My mum is talking me and DS out for the day so i'll hopefully be distracted and wont think about things too much. DH to be has a week off now so he'll be keeping an eye on me.

Hope everyone else slept ok and is ok.

Holly66 · 19/02/2011 08:05

My spelling is awful. I meant "taking me and DS out for the day" not talking.

(The scary thing is I even previewed that! Whoops)

madmouse · 19/02/2011 14:42

Holly that sounds good - hope you've managed to take that first Ad tablet - it's not a life sentence honest x

How's everyone?

I took one of dh's strong painkillers last night after a frankly miserable day and slept well. Was ok this morning, now the pain is back sigh. Had a lie down but ds insisted on joining me on the sofa and he wriggles too much so have given up. Maybe need to get busy again?

BeckyBendyLegs · 19/02/2011 18:01

Boo!

orangeflutie · 19/02/2011 18:16

Boo to you too:)

Did you have a good time in London?

Holly66 · 19/02/2011 21:21

Hi madmouse I did take the first tablet and (touch wood) I feel fine. I do feel a bit "spacey" but that could be due to sleep debt I guess. I found after my 2 early MCs that keeping busy was the only way I could cope. The first one wasn't too bad as my grandad had just died and my focus was on my grief of losing him and organising his funeral. I honestly didn?t have much time to think about the MC itself or the physical pain it was causing me. A few weeks later I felt awful about what I had lost and was desperate to try again.
The second one was worse, I had more time to dwell on it and I was in more pain. The amazing thing was that only a month later I became pregnant with DS, which was a bit of a miracle. My GP was very concerned that the pregnancy would not last, that it was too soon and told me not to get my hopes up. But I knew that this was the one, I really did and he was! My little miracle. I really hope you feel better soon.

Holly66 · 20/02/2011 09:22

Good Morning, hope everyone slept OK?

I've had a positive night. I didn't take a sleeping pill and I managed to drop off by about 1, (normally i'm still wide awake at 3). I then got woken up by DH to be talking to the cat (she's ill so we're a bit worried) who had crawled under the duvet between us. Told DH to be to shut up. Felt really annoyed and started worrying about not sleeping. Got up went to bathroom, did some breathing exercises and then got back into bed and I managed to go back to sleep!

Until DS decided to wake up for the day at 5:45 Sad.
Luckily I managed to get him to go back to sleep until 8:15 Smile but now feel a bit guilty as his routine is now all out of sync.

BeckyBendyLegs · 20/02/2011 09:36

Holly yeah that is brilliant!

GetDownYouWillFall · 20/02/2011 17:50

So glad you haven't had any ill-effects from the AD holly give it a couple of weeks for it to start taking full effect in terms of anti depressant action, hopefully you will start feeling much better very soon Smile

Hope you enjoy your break away becky

I have been sleeping great since we got our lovely new expensive ultra comfy mattress Smile Definitely pays to get a good bed I reckon!!

Hope your pain is easing now madmouse

Waves to orangeflutie, kizzie, arcadia and everyone else.

Holly66 · 21/02/2011 19:28

Maybe I spoke too soon aout side effects Sad.

Have had quite an upset tummy for the past 2 days it's a bit embarrassing Blush.

But apart from that i've been ok. I'll see how I get on for a few more days.

Having first difficult bedtime with DS for months, feeling very on edge!

madmouse · 22/02/2011 12:15

Hi everyone - gone quiet here!

How are we all doing?

I woke up dazed this morning after 8 whole hours in one go Shock

I was bone tired last night and had a long chat and cry with a friend who knows me better than myself and who knew what I was struggling with. After that had another good chat with dh and then straight to bed. So that must have all helped.

madmouse · 22/02/2011 12:17

Holly sorry - that is a common side effect and it will not last too long. Do persevere it will be worth it. Try immodium or something if you need it.

Getdown the pain is just about gone now, except when very tired or standing too long but I expect that will be over any day now too as I've stopped bleeding too.

GetDownYouWillFall · 22/02/2011 12:35

Glad that you've had a really good sleep madmouse and that the bleeding has stopped now. That is good news.

I had some brown blood this morning Sad Not a lot, just when I wiped. It's stopped now. Trying not to worry.

BeckyBendyLegs · 22/02/2011 13:36

GetDown brown is better than red. Brown means old. The fact you had a scan last week to me indicates that this might just be a bit of old brown blood. Fresh red blood is a bad sign. Try to stay positive.

GetDownYouWillFall · 22/02/2011 13:47

Thanks becky yes you're right Smile I am telling myself lots of positive thoughts.

How are you today?

BeckyBendyLegs · 22/02/2011 16:35

Very busy with work and DS1's friend over for sleepover. Chaos!

OP posts:
madmouse · 22/02/2011 16:59

Getdown I understand that that will make you worried again - not long until your NHS scan now - will keep praying xx

Lost more blood today, also had some more cramps so body not quite finished yet - hopefully soon!

Oh and the last time we go to Thinktank (science museum) in half-term - DH and I both got stressed. Ds had a whale of a time racing around in his walker though Smile

kizzie · 23/02/2011 10:53

Madmouse and Get down - just checking in to see how you both are ? x
