have you washed your hair wigglesrock?

wigglesrock · 25/11/2010 10:34

Yes, just done, clean and mostly dry (got fed up with hairdryer!!) Not that bad looking but wtf is with the grey??????

Sorry about mini-meltdown in car, she will be bubbly again, I know you are probably fed up with hearing this so if you want to make rude gestures at the computer feel free, I can't see you, you are doing really well, you got up even though every bone in your body was screaming not to, you got kids to school, you spoke to headmaster and you want to make kids better, job done. Now wtf are we going to do with my hair Smile

What are your plans for today?

JustKeepSparkling · 25/11/2010 11:58

Trin - extra well dones for getting to schooll today, sorry i wasn't around earlier to cheer you on.

Re DD2 - all you can do is let her cry/let her be sad, let her know it's ok to be sad. But also ok to be happy too, not forgetting about her Dad in anyway. She might be thinking she's not 'allowed' to be happy if that makes sense?
And like all these things, time will help. Tough though, and on a tough day.

Any plans for the day?

strawberrypie · 25/11/2010 20:38

Hello Trinity, I'm sorry, I don't really know about your story, but from what I can gather you are doing as well as anyone possibly could in a horrendous situation

I just wanted to share a tip about makeup that might be useful- I use bareminerals foundation which looks like loose powder and you put it on with a brush. It looks very natural and is so easy, you literally can't make a mistake or get tidemarks. You just swish it all over your face. You can buy it online or they show it on QVC too if you want to see it being demonstrated.

Hope everything is going ok today
(PS I have done NO xmas shopping so you are way ahead of me!) xx

JaxTellersOldLady · 25/11/2010 22:35

Sorry Trinity I hope things improved today for you. WEll done getting the kids to school again, maybe set your mobile phone as well as the alarm, just incase.

As for DD, it is ok to be sad, there have been lots of change and unsettlement this year and last and it will take time to adjust. Also she will be sensing that you are sad and upset, totally natural all round. Please dont cry, just do what you can and keep plodding on.

Maybe the school could help with some sort of counselling for her? Not sure how the schools work up there, but when my friends children needed help the school got in touch with child bereavement to organise help and also they did some therapy sessions in school, where the children did some drawing therapy, clay modelling and talking if they wanted to. They left class and went to the heads office and did it in there. Is that something you could look into, if it hasnt already been done?

doing fab Trin. x

Have you seen the film Waterboy?
You know the guy in the crowd that goes:
"You...Can...Doooo...EEeeeet!"
I reckon I'm not the only person reading this thread, mentally screaming this in your direction. Even though I don't know you and you might look at me funny.

I am sure your bin men / postie / whoever will be absolutely delighted with a card and a beer / bottle of wine / bar of choc. But they won't expect it.

I never send Christmas cards either. Festive email if I'm feeling particularly organised (has only happened twice in the last decade)

Good luck with the tidy up. Don't forget to have plenty of tea-and-biscuit breaks (the nice sort of biscuit, not the scary MN type that I don't fully understand)

trumpton · 27/11/2010 08:03

Hi Trinity, sorry things are challenging but it sounds like you are focussing on moving forward a little xx

FromGirders · 27/11/2010 08:36

Do you.have much snow?.
I am hugely.impressed - kids at school every day, oil stocked up and set to re-fill, clean bathroom, kitchen, clear floors! 5 binbags of clothes thrown out! You have come so far, and i'm really proud of you. You should be very proud of yourself :-).
And you're still way further ahead with Christmas than I am.
Hugs to your girls :-)

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 27/11/2010 08:40

hi fromgirders

thankyou we;re getting there

and I may have bought stuff but I havent' wrapped a single thing.

JustKeepSparkling · 27/11/2010 11:05

Well done Trin :)

Re wrapping - get a day when the DC are at school, put on some Christmas music, cup of tea/coffee, get everything to hand then get to it :)

JaxTellersOldLady · 27/11/2010 20:53

justkeepsparkling that is what I do, and you know what? I love doing it that way.

This year, as the children are older they are getting nosier harder to hide the pressies, so our friend who lives near has had a massive clear out and has offered me a huge cupboard to store them! We will see her xmas eve and get them then.

Was at a school fayre today and bought some lovely little jewellery bits for stocking filler for DD and to go with my nieces' pressies.

DanceInTheDark · 28/11/2010 20:03

How you doing Trin?

JaxTellersOldLady · 28/11/2010 20:16
