Scootergrrrl · 18/11/2010 13:16

What about Sophie the giraffe for the wee one? Look on Amazon. DS has one and he loves it. Snuggly scarf for your mum? Self stirring mug - someone on here keeps singing their praises - for your dad?

Scootergrrrl · 18/11/2010 13:18

If you feel up to getting them done, send them whenever! They'll wrap them for you too so you could just tell them not to open til Christmas.

Will be thinking of you all next Friday Sad

TrinityTheTwattyRhino · 18/11/2010 13:21

GypsyMoth · 18/11/2010 13:29

Next have lovely keyrings for your friends....... But then again, I LOVE jangly keyrings!!

Scootergrrrl · 18/11/2010 13:31

Do you want me to try to find you a link for the mug? Or if it's not too weird (!) I'll order an extra one and post it onto your dad from here if you like to save you a job. PM me if you want.

JennyHaniver · 18/11/2010 13:34

Get the children to write a list of friends and teachers they'd like to give a card to (or get them to tell you). No point in giving to all the class - just a few friends. If they can't remember them on a list then why send a card? This is what i do.

TrinityTheTwattyRhino · 18/11/2010 13:56

thanks for the offer sccoter but I've got it sorted now on amazon

what a fab site

Cool.
And I think you need another name change..... Trinitythefabulousrhino maybe? Or trinitytherhinowhosdoingherbest (although that might be a bit long!)

Are you still on your healthy eating kick?

TrinityTheTwattyRhino · 18/11/2010 14:25

definitely still on my healthy eating kick

lost 7lbs in two weeks

feeling less sluggish too

but the fear of the world and not feeling able to manage all the shit that has to be done every day is still here
I fight the urge to climb intoi bed all the time

haven't fought it very well today

OP posts:
Scootergrrrl · 18/11/2010 14:28

It's probably perfectly natural to be fearful of the outside world after what happened to Neil. But this doesn't have to be the start of a major slide. Treat it as a small dip, if you can, and expect tomorrow to be better not worse.

TrinityTheTwattyRhino · 18/11/2010 14:29

thats true, that does help

to decide that tomorrow will be better is a much more positive way to think about today

OP posts:
Scootergrrrl · 18/11/2010 14:33

Or to put it another way, it can't GET any worse Grin

(Scooter skips around singing The Only Way Is Up and Things Can Only Get Better.....)

AntonDuBurk · 18/11/2010 15:52

Sounds like you are well on your way with Christmas presents (I haven't even made my list yet so you are miles ahead of me!). And I've never in my life bought for binmen and postmen etc and don't know anyone who does so please don't waste a moment's more energy worrying about that. A smile and a thank you if/when you see them will show your appreciation (even if you have to fake it on bad days).

7lb weightloss is brilliant, well done Smile Do make sure it's a healthy eating kick rather than too much of a calorie depravtion though, you will feel the cold and memory stuff much more if you are restriciting calories too much.

So, tomorrow is another day. Agree with another poster that alarms and timers are a great way to get you/the kids on track for school. I think Gecko is the same age as my DD and she loves our kitchen timer. Somehow she is much more receptive to the pinger than to me telling her to do something. Hmm If you can make it into a game along the lines of "right, in five minutes can everyone manage to get shoes/coats/bags on and be lined up ready to get in the car" would that help do you think?

anotherbrickinthewall · 18/11/2010 22:23

just checking in, in case you are still here...

JaxTellersOldLady · 18/11/2010 22:32

Trinity, you are doing fantastically well.

Got to ask, are you still taking your meds? Please make sure you take them every day. It is important my lovely.

Sounds like you have the christmas presents sorted out.

Set your alarm a little early, get up, get some funky music on and get going. I find that if I jump in the shower first thing then I am ready to face the day, otherwise I could slob around all day long.

Get organised, like others have said. You were doing so so well in the summer. Come on, you can do it.

Sending positive vibes your way. Let me know if you need anything. Feel free to email or PM me. x

FromGirders · 18/11/2010 22:45

Hi trin, haven't seen you around for a bit. All these name changes make it very hard to stalk look in on you!
Well I have to say i'm rather impressed that you've started in Christmas - you're several steps ahead of me.
I'd second what someone earlier said about the kids' cards - get a cheap pack and just let them write to whoever they want and remember. If they start soon and keep them in a bundle, they'll be able to see who they've done already.
sounds like you're well sorted with amazon too! you've done lots of good stuff today, and tomorrow is a fresh start :-)
((hugs))

JaxTellersOldLady · 19/11/2010 13:53

TrinityTheTwattyRhino · 21/11/2010 17:23

sorry haven't been here

I'm dreading tomorrow but I have kids washed and fed, clothes read, breakfast decided

fingers crossed

TRinity - I have only just seen this.

GIving you a virtual shake.

RIght - bookbags ready? lunches ready?

Tomorrow (and every day) the children HAVE to go to school. No matter how hard it is to face the world. Put a trowel full of foundation on if it helps you hide. They HAVE to go. You fought for those children to stay with you. Keep fighting!

I don't care if you wallow when you get back, if you have you have your PJs under your coat or if you hide your morning breath with chewing gum.

One of those baby steps all those months ago was to get your babies to school.

You CAN do it because you HAVE done it.

DanceInTheDark · 21/11/2010 22:40

Said harshly but with love - you know that right?
