Starting a new thread as I accidentally filled up the old one.

Here’s a link to the old one: www.mumsnet.com/talk/fasting_diet/4570776-blood-sugar-diet-fast-800-diet-thread-24

Hope everyone finds this and look forward to welcoming newcomers to the thread too!

Sorry @Mercedesbenz2022, it has gone very quiet in here recently! There used to be a group of us but some people must have moved on. The summer holidays are always hard for me when dieting because of the temptation to neck rose like there's no tomorrow. Sounds like a good day 1 - well done!

I've been back at it with slight weekend wobbles - Monday and yesterday were good, though. Weighed myself on Monday and I'd gone up 3lbs over the weekend, but I was down this morning to where I started. Hoping for actual loss tomorrow! I need to do a meal plan for this week, though, and do a Tesco order for all the stuff.

Mercedesbenz2022 · 16/08/2023 17:20

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar
if mon and tue were good u will have those 3 lb off in no time

day 2 wasn’t great , did well until about 7 , and then fell into a pack of those little iced gems

lesson noted tho , don’t have them in the house and then I can’t eat them
was really craving chippie fish and chips but my halo is shiny and I have roasted med veg and a fillet fish cooking

not the same lol but hope my sacrifice shows on the scales !

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 22/08/2023 10:31

Haven't been posting because I felt stuck, but I'm 2lbs down this morning and feeling better. Lunch will be mozzarella tomato salad with olives, and dinner will be pork stir-fry with cauliflower rice. 2.5 weeks until I go on holiday - I can do this!

Anapana · 23/08/2023 21:53

i started last Friday and am 3lbs down so far. This is the only diet that works on my lardy, post menopausal body but it’s a bit brutal sometimes. But needs must 🤣 my goal is to be 11 stone something by Christmas - am currently 13.2 .

I do feel better though without all the sugar!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 24/08/2023 09:06

3lbs down as of this morning! After a slow start I seem to be getting into the proper swing of it.

Well done, @Anapana!

@Mercedesbenz2022, are you hanging on?

fourelementary · 25/08/2023 07:14

Oh can I join you guys? Find the Facebook group a bit stuffy!
on the second week of this and actually weirdly struggling to eat. Just can’t really be bothered. Which is unheard of for me…
I am struggling a bit with “leafy greens” as I don’t really like salads much and prefer other veg but will this reduce my losses? Or stop the losses? So eating Mediterranean veg or stir fry veg is currently my go-to at tea time and I break my fast with Greek yog and berries.
Any inspiration for me please?

Mercedesbenz2022 · 26/08/2023 18:59

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar
i lost 3 the first week , put 1 back on , and maintained all of last week ,
I am nowhere near 800 calories but mon is a fresh start ( again)

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 28/08/2023 10:18

Mon is a fresh start for me too! I did really well until I got drunk on Friday night and had to have bacon and eggs (low carb but not low calorie) and then we had a barbecue and more drink was drunk...and then I ended up with a takeaway last night. Back on it this morning, and I started off with a run, so I feel like there's some damage control, anyway.

Jaguarina · 11/09/2023 13:45

Hi guys, I'm concerned that if I restrict my calories for a few weeks so drastically, my body will hang on to more when I eat normally again. If you've done the fast800 has this happened? Have you been able to maintain? Thanks

YearsofYears · 11/09/2023 17:52

I'm back today too after 3 weeks off gorging on holidays

Diegofrompennyburn · 16/10/2023 06:36

Monday morning, here we go again! Birthday celebrations done, but horrified at my weight this morning.

Numnumbirdy · 22/10/2023 08:13

Can I please join in… I’ve lost 9lbs doing fast 800 with 16:8. In my 3rd week. It works for me if I am in ketosis. I also use the lose it app to track food (keep me honest) which links to my health data on my phone steps/workouts) I don’t have a huge amount of time to meal prep but I do find if I cook a big meal on a Sun then take in my lunch Mon / Tue I have a better loss week. I’m going to try the sesame salmon mentioned earlier in the thread today.

Ostryga · 14/11/2023 11:56

Morning all! Joining in as I’m on day 2 of Fast 800. I’m an old hand at 16:8, but wasn’t seeing decent results so I’ve added in this WOE.

Finding it quite reasonable atm, I usually have around 200-300cals for lunch leaving me with a bigger dinner so I can eat with Dd.

I have a big event in December I’d love to look good for. Haven’t lost my baby weight and Dd is 7!

I’d love to lose 10kgs by the end of the year, which will bring me into ‘normal’ BMI range. Hoping the event will keep my motivation high.

ShitIforgothelves · 10/12/2023 09:12

Hi I'm interested in doing this, I did it before and had very good results.

TheCatterall · 14/12/2023 21:51

Is there a more active thread in MN for the Fast 800 method? Contemplating easing myself into it now ready to kick off properly after the holidays are out of the way.

Addidas · 15/12/2023 08:04

@TheCatterall if u join the smartmove 12 pound one on fasting and the other fasting threads some are move active

mumumumumummm · 06/01/2024 16:50

@TheCatterall I've just started this week and looking to share experiences, be accountable and maybe get a bit of support when it gets tough!
Anyone else doing Fast800 January to kick start the year? (If anyone replies I'll post my stats and goals!)

Diegofrompennyburn · 06/01/2024 17:00

I'm in!

Todays menu was

Cottage cheese w seeds
Celeriac Spanish omelette
scallop and sun dried tomato sauce w kale

Newnamebox · 06/01/2024 21:58

I’m in too! Cheesy fajita beef casserole for dinner.

mumumumumummm · 07/01/2024 07:17

Great!

Hi @Diegofrompennyburn @Newnamebox !

I've been going two days so today is my third day. Feeling good but they've been relaxed days in the house. No idea how I'll feel at work this week!

I've told DH I'm doing it but not anyone else. Too scared I'll fail!

I'm going to hold out until 1pm today to start eating....

mumumumumummm · 07/01/2024 07:18

You scallop dish sounds lovely!

Newnamebox · 07/01/2024 07:31

Good luck today @mumumumumummm and as you prepare to return to work. Hopefully it’ll feel a lot easier by the time you’re a week in. I’m ten days in and feel good - but avoiding temptation is still a challenge when out and about. But I’ve dropped quite a bit of weight which is very motivating!

Diegofrompennyburn · 07/01/2024 07:35

The scallops is from the orange Fast 800 keto book. Even DH had a taste and requested that I make it for him some time (will add bread or pasta to his portion)

Today:
mozarella and tomatoes
leftover celeriac omelette w kimchi and chop salad
Jackfruit "crab" cakes

Weight not coming off just as quickly as I'd anticipated, but I feel brighter, and my eczema has cleared up well. I'm looking at week 1 as orientation week.

mumumumumummm · 07/01/2024 08:26

Ten days, well done @Newnamebox, must be great to really feel you've already lost weight.

I like writing down the menu for the day in advance - going to start doing that each morning.

Might be a feta and Coriander omlette today as have a bit of left over Coriander to use.

Cod for dinner with a butter sauce. All with mountains of green veg.

How often are you each weighing? Tempted to do it every day to keep focus

Tunneltiger · 07/01/2024 09:59

Hi @mumumumumummm can I join you on this? Creeping back on the thread for some accountability. Lost 3.5 stones last year on this and then life got in the way and 1.5 rolled right back on.
With a good wind behind me and some inspiration from the thread hoping to get back on track, lose what I've gained and take it a step further.
Last year cutting out booze did it for me in the first few months. Then over summer the occasional glass at a barbecue crept in and by Christmas I was swimming in a wine lake. When I have wine I crave carbs and everything goes to pot. So dry January and Fast 800 for me!

Today having some home made yoghurt and raspberries for lunch and meatloaf and green veg in the evening.
I am weighing daily and 5lbs off so far.
@Diegofrompennyburn with you on the feeling brighter and @Newnamebox with you on the temptation challenge.

Onwards and downwards!
