I restarted 5:2 (somewhere between fast 500& 800 depending on my mood).. Its hard to stay motivated but just looked at the data and have lost about 4.5 lbs since starting. I'm sure a lot of it was water weight but at least its going in the right direction.

@RagzRebooted thats an amazing loss in your first week, well done. Pleased you’re finding it easy. I’m ok if I’m just at home but as soon as I am away or theirs an event it’s so easy to eat calories.
Out for dinner with a friend tonight but have chosen Greek so I can have meat and salad. Party tomorrow night but I’m going to drive to stop temptation and also it’s work colleagues!

@YearsofYears 4.5 pounds for 5:2 is really good. I’m not convinced I would lose weight on it, I know people do though! I’m going to give it a go once I’ve lost over half of my amount as I struggle to do 800 for very long.

I don't lose weight on 5:2 unless I count calories on the other days and eat sensibly (like you're supposed to!). I tried it, but just used it as an excuse to eat crap on the other days! I work best with strict rules, unfortunately.

Week 1 weigh in and I’ve lost 5.5 pounds. Keeping going. Soup for lunch and roast chicken and veg for dinner.

Hello, I’d like to join the thread 👋

I want to lose the 2 stones of baby weight I have hanging around and as my daughter is now one, I’ve done my job nursing her & want the weight gone & my body back.

I had my BUPA health check a few weeks ago and they said I was carrying much too much body fat (about 40%) so I’m keen to correct that too.

I’m planning to do the Fast 800 2 meals a day for a fortnight to kick off then go back to 5:2 for the rest.

Started today with black coffee for breakfast and a snack plate of peppers, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, avocado, rice thins, caper berries, olives and goats cheese for lunch for 380 calories. We are having roast chicken & salad for dinner.

I disappeared from this thread at the end of May but am back and ready to get started again (day two of strict Fast 800).

I lost a lot before. I’ve gained a bit but not too much. I’ve got a long way to go still until healthy and think maybe I needed a bit of a break before committing to the next stage.

Well done. It's a journey and we all fall off the wagon sometimes. I have found that I keep learning more and more about healthy food and how this affects my life and my mental wellbeing and this is a positive thing for me. Good luck with your plans.

Hi @Anewagain and @Walkingintheminefield and anyone else still lurking! I’ve been AWOL for a couple of months but am back on it today. I was on it most of last week but went away for a long weekend and ate all the carbs (mainly in butteries). Haven’t weighed in yet though. I’ve done a big Tesco order with a Fast 800 meal plan and I’m ready to rock. I had omelette for lunch and I’m making fajitas for dinner but I will just have mine with salad, no wraps.

I’ve got 4 weeks before I go on a girls’ weekend abroad - time to focus! I should manage to lose 8-10lbs in that time.

Still here and good to know you have a goal. 4 weeks is a good time. Made mushroom omelette for lunch and the slimline veggie lasagne with salad for dinner.

Can I join you on your 4 weeks @TooExtraImmatureCheddar ? I want to do exactly the same! Would love to lose 10hrs but would be very happy with 8. I started on Monday so am nearly 3 days down. I'm aiming for fast 800 mid week and then cal restricted bit more sat and sun when I'm less in control of food prep.

I’m on my third glass of wine but food has been good today. I had the pesto beans and Parma ham for lunch, then a small snack of apple and Stilton, and dinner is cooking now and is the Chinese 5 spice chicken drumsticks from the basic Fast 500 book, with pak choi. Not counting the wine I’m probably on 900 cals - I’m on holiday and struggling with the not drinking bit!

Right, weighed in this morning with a mild hangover and it’s not as bad as I thought. I’m 3.5lbs up from my June low-point, and given the reckless disregard for dieting I have shown since, that’s frankly miraculous. Goal one is my girls’ weekend away on 7 Sep, and goal two is my 40th birthday on 7 Oct. I’m out tomorrow but after that it’s clear sailing until Sep. My plan for tomorrow is to a) eat a healthy lunch before I go and b) go canny on the Indian meal we’re going for. Also c) don’t drink too much. Ahem.

If I’m really focused I could be down a stone by my birthday. I downloaded a yoga app (Asana Rebel) yesterday because it was stalking me around Instagram and all the pictures were of beautiful lean people. I did three mini workouts yesterday and discovered just how inflexible I am.

Today was day one
I did have a single chewy seeet at around 4 but today I’ve had roast veg , a bit hummus, tin tuna
later a teeny portions of spaghetti, with meatballs and salad
no garlic bread or jam tarts ( for visiting adult children only lol ) and what’s left will be out in foil ant they can take home
I have had some nuts when i came home from work ,
I know I’ll be over the 800 but day one , will get into it
how is everyone else doing ?
