Well done @TooExtraImmatureCheddar !
I've been amazed how tough this week has been @Anewagain. May be rose tinted specs but previous weeks seem heaven in comparison!
I made some notes on recovering from a blow out (by that I mean going off plan not eating TDEE).
- (Just added this) Don't do it in the first place 🤣. Think we all know our limits.
- Rather than going straight into a fast day, do a TDEE (eating maintenance calories day), or one fast meal and one TDEE meal. Or 3-4 TDEE days. I was scared of doing one but the key I realised is that they are absolutely fine as long as mediterranean diet and portion controlled, and stick to lower carb. You should not gain weight and it helps refill the bodys nutrients. I don't think I can go into F800 from a place of feeling nutritionally empty, not without having an emotional breakdown.
Another way round it could be LOTS of good mood food meals i.e. avocado, eggs, chicken, oats etc. to cope with sugar withdrawal. I think it is tryptophan that boosts mood.
- Eating in a shorter window can help with hunger as you reach full feeling quicker. Though there is evening snacking to contend with!
- The meal plan and prep stage is key as always, plan it, prep it, log it, preferably the day before.
Its actually a condensed version of how I always get into a diet, start with maintenance calories for a bit (which are inevitably less than what I was eating as that is why I put on weight, so result in a loss), cut the junk, then when that plateaus go full tilt into F800. I wonder if this technique is in any of the books.
I've just had half the dinner of lamb saag and will try and save the other half for later. Should be 1070 cals. I made the saag wrong - meat for 2 but oil and lentils for 4, hence over today.
Honestly just grateful for each further day where I get closer back to ketosis!
