Finishing day 2 marginally under the 800 calories. Felt a bit weak and headachey late afternoon but feeling great again now.

I also have some big celebrations coming up, but I reason that doing 800 some of the time is better than doing it none of the time.

PhoenixMama · 08/03/2023 19:35

Hi all, MN seems to have eaten my message from earlier - rude!

Welcome @redprincess - so good on you for making a start - it's honestly so hard to get started. Take it a day at a time, loads of water and salt. You might feel rubbish for the first few days but it will pass.

I was down 4.2lbs this morning which means I'm basically back to where I was before life got insane. So glad I'm not being too punished for the last month, lol.

Been starving today and think I'm coming in around 950cals and 40g carbs but way better than it could/would have been!

I'm seeing someone I really fancy on Tuesday so hopefully vanity is going to be the thing that keeps me on track lol. Wish I could lose a stone in a week now though!

Addidas · 09/03/2023 07:00

Back to 11.2 :(

any advice anyone!

xraydelta · 09/03/2023 08:50

I'm over 11 again too @PhoenixMama You have company!!!

I think the only thing we can do is keep going and not give it and binge 😁

You are exercising too, aren't you? There is this oft mentioned muscle weight that's interfering. Our cycles do too obviously.

It WILL happen for both of us. I have the positivity for us. We will do this 🙌🏻

What's your menu today? Mine is leftover beef chilli and a fishcake with the smoked fish I didn't put in the fish pie earlier this week.

xraydelta · 09/03/2023 08:50

Sorry. Was trying to tag @Addidas but my phone fingers are so bloody cold!!!

Addidas · 09/03/2023 09:02

Sorry you’re over 11 I was thinking of you when I stood on scales that this is normal maybe as we get closer. My bmi is bang on 25 now and this is the weight I tend to be my whole adult life so going to really need to push hard

im doing pelaton HIT cycling about 3 times a week…..

I think I need to push my cals to 900 moving fwd and my carbs back to 20/30 as they been 40th this week and my cals been 1000ish

today I’ve just had my coconut yoghurt almonds and berries

lunch is avacado olive chicken salad

dinner is a family take away waaaaa as it’s my MIL bday and she’s coming over. I’m only having chicken satay skewers no sauce and I’ll cut myself a side salad.

hard to estimate calories but thinking it’s about

900 and 12g carbs. This will hopefully push me to 11.1 tmrw??? But then I’m going out tmrw and having wine and cocktails (rare date night with husband as 2 small kids and I want to enjoy it , I’ve decided against the pudding though and will stick to starter and main and I have to admin wine will be drunk as I’ve not touched it for 3 weeks and am gagging for a glass!)

xraydelta · 09/03/2023 09:58

@Addidas I think we're definitely on the right path.

I can't remember how tall you are, but my BMI is "normal" anywhere between just under 9 stone and 11 stone.

This is the truly frustrating bit. I was always at the lower end for my first four decades of my life. Until covid. My medical school eldest child says it's because I'm getting older now (40s)...: but I don't feel old and I don't want to be this weight forever for. I'm doesn't suit me and I don't like it.

I also, practically, want to fit into previous work clothes.

I hope it goes well this evening for your MiL birthday. Chicken skewers sound brilliant. And date night tomorrow sounds ace 😁

I shall weigh again in the morning 🤞🏻

Addidas · 09/03/2023 10:37

@xraydelta im 5.6 so am bang on top end of bmi. Same re clothes.I don’t like being this weight I’ve dropped to 10.10 a few years ago and felt great but quickly went back up to here and then I had a baby and I was 12 stone.8 when I started trying to loose the baby weight

anyways let’s keep going. It will come off!

Simonsaysitschristmas · 09/03/2023 11:16

Morning all, I’m in the next stone bracket today (12.13) which is exciting but still a long way to go. I know it will slow down as the weeks progress. I just want to get to a healthy BMI for once in my adult life!

snowing today so going to see what exercise I can do in the house.

xraydelta · 09/03/2023 13:48

Well done @Simonsaysitschristmas 🎉

Addidas · 09/03/2023 18:55

That was thought! I watched everyone have cake and wine and I had 1 sip of wine and stopped. I ended up eating all of the chicken rather than just some but it was just grilled and I didn’t have anything but plain lettuce on side. I’m estimating 250g chicken and 1 tablespoon of oil

i thibk I’m on 1100 with that which is upsetting but I did manage a pelaton session for 20 mins I wasn’t planning on doing

Addidas · 09/03/2023 18:56

@Simonsaysitschristmas excellent work well done!

Addidas · 10/03/2023 08:06

11.1.6 today
hardly here or there!

now I’m going out tonight and it will shoot up was hoping to go out being a nicer weight so could not worry over what I had :(

from tmrw the cals are going to have to drop to 800 I just checked my mfp and I weight eveything and I’ve done 1050 on average Monday - Thursday and carbs 30g

how that has not dropped my weight I don’t know but next week it’s going lower cals wise carbs to stay same

Anewagain · 10/03/2023 09:55

Sorry that’s frustrating @Addidas . Enjoy tonight and you can pick up from tomorrow - if you gain, most of it will be temporary and will be gone again in a couple of days. Hope you’ve had a good week too @xraydelta

Well done @Simonsaysitschristmas and, now you’ve said that, I’m not sure I’ve ever reached a true healthy weight as an adult. I’ve gotten close but haven’t quite cross the line (and stayed near healthy). I crossed into the next stone down recently too and feel good each day when I weigh as I continue to nudge away from my old weight.

good to have you back @PhoenixMama

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 10/03/2023 10:02

@Simonsaysitschristmas congrats on your new stone bracket! I love new stone brackets, they feel so much more significant than going from eg 12.11 to 12.10.

@Addidas, you are so close - just go out tonight and enjoy yourself as you were planning to, and then stick to it next week and you'll be 10.13 before you know it.

I've looked back at my weight loss pattern and there was a week at the end of Jan when I hardly lost at all, went up and down, and then finally whooshed the next week. Then I had another week at the end of Feb which was the same - it will be interesting to see whether the pattern holds in March! It's the week maybe 10 days before my period starts. I wonder whether it's after ovulation, or something - body holding onto resource in case I want to use it to feed a baby, and then letting go when it realises no baby is happening? I do lose weight while I have my period, contrary to what many women report.

Addidas · 10/03/2023 11:40

I’m going to start measuring my upper thigh and waist as they feel smaller despite no drop in weight which may be due to excercise and drop in carbs.

really disheartening but I’ll be back tmrw with a terrible update but hopefully back down quickly. I may have already had a slice of the cake I managed to resist yest (maybe?! ) 🙈

I must excercise at least today….even if eating plans appear to have gone out of window

Anewagain · 11/03/2023 10:00

I wish I’d taken measurements from the start @Addidas. It’s probably a great move to start even if you didn’t from the beginning.
DS (5) told me yesterday that I am too small now for the dress I was wearing. It must be sitting very differently on me now.

Hi again everyone and thankyou for the message's..

Well im currently eating all the leftovers I have of junk in the house to get rid of most of it before Monday, it will be my last big pigout for a while.

I'm going to do a shop tomorrow and stock up on a few essentials what I might need as you say more salt will be needed and some stock cubes incase I feel like I need the extra as I know the first few weeks are going to be hard.

I will probably start with 1000 cals a day for few weeks first as will be a massive shock to the system..

Will weigh myself every Monday..

Thankyou for the support and I cant wait to be where alot of you all are soon..

Will update Monday evening if I ain't dead from starvation lol!

Have a good weekend everyone 😊

Addidas · 12/03/2023 12:58

Had a stressful weekend but hubby being admitted. Resulted in mini eggs donuts toast and pasta being consumed. Oh and lots of digestive biscuits. We back home and I’m shattered
sure there’s a gain but that’s life.
hoping to be back on tmrw but will see how I sleep
hope everyone else had less eventful weekends x

xraydelta · 12/03/2023 14:02

Oh no @Addidas That sounds very stressful.

You are most definitely excused slipping under those circumstances. How is your DH now?

I slipped too for not nearly so good a reason 😔

Just made chicken stir fry for me and the teens. Little teen just picked out the chicken 🙄

I think I'll still be over 11 stone in the morning annoyingly, but hormones and wine are playing their part.

xraydelta · 12/03/2023 14:08

Little teen would like to make it clear she also ate two bits of red pepper, one piece of broccoli, three tablespoons of brown rice (I did not have any of that!), plus yes, all her chicken 😁

Anewagain · 12/03/2023 14:37

I’m sorry @Addidas, that sounds very stressful. Hope you’re able to get some rest and time to recover now.

Chicken stir fry sounds delicious @xraydelta.

I haven’t yet had lunch and am so hungry. I’m in the danger zone because I want to eat everything and I know where DH has some chocolate bunnies and Easter eggs stored. I’m doing my best to wait until DH gets back from the shops so we can have burgers with salad.

I hope you managed to stay strong @Anewagain

I am a nightmare when I'm hungry and there's no healthy food 😔

Anewagain · 12/03/2023 19:12

I got very close to caving but held on @xraydelta. I’ve just had the speedy (pita) pizza for dinner which was good. I’ve felt the need to eat meals that feels like more of a treat today.

Following from a distance! Love the updates.

I was 10st 4.5 on 26 Nov, currently 10st 1. Previously 13st, and did Fast 800 last year and reached 9st9.

To be honest I am pretty pleased with how I have maintained. My body knows what is too much and I start to feel bleurgh, tight clothes etc.

The reasons I crept back up were seasonal transition from summer to winter, I felt a bit lost.
I also didn't transition out of Fast 800 well. I just had all the carb then swopped the carb for chocolate snacks.

Just before Christmas I did Fast800 again and I think I got below 10st, however I was v tired and had heart palpitations, a blood test revealed folic acid deficiency. So a close eye is key.

I won't be posting regularly as not really doing it, but I might if my current plan doesn't work! I've given myself around 1,300 calories, on exercise days more if hungry, I think I could reach my goal of 9st 6-9 in a month.

I'm cooking all the recipes from the Fast 800 book and adding veg and sometimes carb (or having more inbetween snacks).

I really like the Fast 800 meals as they are so simple. The longer term plan is 5.2.
